Welcome to Vampirates The year is 1652, the latest fashion is puffy everything, and of course, we reside in Transylvania. The family that has been in charge for centuries is still in charge, The Vitae Family. Prominent in numbers that reside within the country or in the Mediterranean. Their station is closely followed by the Moriarty Family, who only lack in the desire to own anything more then what they already have in regards to ever having the power of the vampire throne. For the most part these two clans get along, or at least tolerate each other. Other vampire families reside within the walls as well, not so powerful and hardly as old they stand by and wait for a chance to overthrow either one of the families by way of wit versus strength. Of course no land drenched in the stench of Vampires and other beasts would be without the Werewolves. And the entirity of the county in which the vampires reside within the grasp of A particularly overly powerful Werewolf that goes by the name of Fawkes. His alliance with the Vitae Lord, Ozymandius gives him more power then is rightful to his place. Several other less prominent packs reside within counties that are fairly close to the main but are of late unheard of, diminished in size thanks to a nasty plague known only to and attacking only, Werewolves. Humans are not oblivious to the existance of either one, the not so recent power play by Allucard Moriarty has them all that much more aware that they are surrounded by fiends and monsters ready to take their lives faster then they can breed and renumber. Of course they pay hommage and strike alliances for their safety in the matter, no mortal wishes to be fodder for the stronger races. Shapeshifters are rare, falling in and out of the spectrum as the occasion calls for it. Usually bound to a travelling vampires that stop by. Now and again they stay in the area, claiming teritory for their own or finding a new vampire for which to bind themselves to. POwerful in their own great way, no form is beyond their bounds, at least in shape. Pirates have a fair claim on the lands, the only ones that have no fear of the vampires or werewolves no matter what, they take to the sea and quite frequently are in the pay roll of the vampires for good and supplies, after all, who else is going to get that rare silk from Japan for the dress that Juliana Vitae absolutely MUST have? Last but not least are the hunters, those specifically bred and raised to destroy vampires, empowered by minor sorcorers throught the ages they are stronger then most men and women. Their lives are hard and short. |
