Name: Sami Ken'ichi (Ken) Age: 15 Gender: Male Height: 5'2" Weight: 142 lbs Birthday: 08/23 Country of Origin and Village : Land of Earth, Iwagakure Rank: Genin Chakra Affinity/Specialty: Ninjutsu Overview Eventually, Ken'ichi plans on becoming an expert of Earth Style jutsus, however, at the moment he technically only knows one Earth technique. Ken'ichi is a Transcendentalist, non-conformist, odd, music-loving young ninja with brunette hair and dark blue eyes. Ken'ichi uses specialized swords that allow him to manipulate various elements in his Sword of Elements technique. Along with the three Brand swords Ken also carries standard ninja gear such as kunai, shuriken, ninja wire, and explosive tags. Also Ken'ichi has been known to conceal paralytic needles on his person. Appearance Ken is a slender young man weighing in at only 145 pounds with muscles that aren't particularly large or impressive. He has brunette hair cut into a funky, spiky style. Ken has dark blue eyes and an attractive, blemish free face. His clothing is rather odd looking mixing futuristic, modern, classic, and punk styles into one style. As you can see he wears a pink shirt beneath a black jacket with a pink inner lining. Ken also wears black pants with pink rings near the bottom and black boots. Personality Ken is generally a very nice, polite, and civilized young man. He particularly likes silence and taking walks through parks or forests. Ken is a very open-minded person accepting most forms of art, music, fashion, and opinions. Continuing with his open-minded mentality Ken doesn't have any problems with homosexuals, bisexuals, transsexuals, or transvestites--in fact, he enjoys their company as he is constantly seeking things that are not the norm. Ken'ichi enjoys Classical music and Modern music in most of its forms. His favorite genre is Rock, of course, however, the two runner up genres are Techno/Trance and Metal. Ken actually plays the piano, drums, flute, violin, and electric guitar. He enjoys the distinctive difference in the sound of each of the instruments that he plays quite a bit more than most instruments. Ken is a devout believer in Transcendentalism, which is the belief that everything is interconnected through nature, and that everyone is a small portion of a greater being called the Over Soul. Transcendentalism also encourages people to be theirselves and step to the beat of their own drums, which Ken'ichi tends to do quite a bit. Widespread Deadly Diseases Regrets (optional): N/A History Bloodline History The Sami Clan has a long history in Iwagakure, however, you will enjoy the fact that the only the outline of history will be described. It all began approximately one hundred fifty-two years ago the Sami Clan was accepted into Iwagakure. The Clan had no special abilities other than the fact that the members were very multi-cultural and well educated. Most of the Clan members weren't even very good shinobi, however, their vast intelligence of the world and other shinobi villages made them a very valuable resource to Iwagakure. For one hundred fifty-two years the Sami Clan has provided Iwagakure with intelligence through means of espianage and several texts in their possession that were actually written by members of the Clan. In the years after joining Iwagakure the Clan began to produce more Shinobi as well as knowledge. Some of the Shinobi were excellent, and some... fell a little bit BELOW below average. An Arc For Each Rank Rogue Arc As a young child Ken'ichi spent most of his time doing what any normal child born into the Sami Clan would do. Reading, learning, writing, and playing an assortment of instruments. It wasn't until Ken was nearly ten years old that he ever showed any interests in becoming a shinobi. After Ken'ichi expressed the interest in learning the Way of the Ninja as the Sami Clan often referred to it, Ken was taken in by a sensei, Sami Oaku, whose purpose was to complete Ken's childhood education before he joined the Ninja Academy of Iwagakure. So for an entire year, Ken was taught what he should've learned in a span of six or seven more years. Oaku pressed Ken'ichi hard, and the boy often complained about being forced to learn all of this stuff. He was going to become a ninja! Why did he have to be a scholar at the same time? It was explained to Ken'ichi that shinobi from the Sami Clan were not mere ninja like anyone else, but specialized ninja meant for gathering intelligence and providing useful knowledge to other shinobi of Iwagakure. And that was why shinobi from the Sami Clan were so well respected even if they did not produce outstanding shinobi. Academy Student Arc After condensing approximately seven years of education into one year, Ken'ichi was almost dying to join the Ninja Academy--and he did join the Academy. (That's why he has an Academy Student Arc.) So Ken joined the Academy eager to get in there and start his training to become a shinobi! The work was a lot harder than he expect though. When he was just learning text and scholarly materials he had never had to exert a physical effort. Now the physical training was taking a toll on his unconditioned body. For his first year in the Academy Ken'ichi struggled to stay even at the bottom of his class. He was excellent at memorizing facts and taking practical written exams, however, Ken was horrible at actually applying the skills he was taught. Shortly after completing his first year, however, Ken'ichi started to become exponentially better at the physical applications of his classes. Ken'ichi actually made very FEW friends during his time as an Academy Student, because whenever he was training to try to improve himself to at least an average level he was practicing one of the several instruments that he had learned to play, reading, or doing something artistic, which left very little time to befriend much of anyone. It wasn't as if many people would be willing to be Ken's friend anyway. Most of the other students made fun of Ken'ichi and his lack of skill. Genin Arc As a Genin Ken's life began to look up. Not only had he determined his own style of fighting, but he was also no longer made fun of by his peers. In fact, he had become quite a superb young shinobi. After graduating from the Academy one of the Sami Clan members, Ouka, gave Ken'ichi three short swords, each with a different gem embedded into the hilt. These swords were all the same size, shape, and weight, however, the gems embedded into them gave them special properties, which would later prove to be very useful to Ken'ichi. On to more boring part of Ken'ichi's Genin life: missions. Ken went on mission after mission after mission, and each and every single one of them was just as uneventful as the one before. Picking carrots, capturing stray dogs, feeding the doves in the park!?! The missions were absurd, but it was his duty as a shinobi to carry out the missions given to him, and that he did. Current Life Currently, Ken'ichi has begun the process of training for the Genin Exams. Weapons +Kunai - Standard ninja throwing knife also used for melee combat. Several are kept in a pouch on Ken's right thigh. +Shuriken - Standard four point throwing stars. Several are kept in a pouch Ken's right thigh and tucked into hidden pockets within his jacket. +Paralytic Senbon - Standard medical needles coated in a paralytic toxin that will temporarily paralyze any living animal target. Several are kept in hidden pockets within Ken's jacket. +25' Roll of Steel Ninja Wire - Standard roll of ninja wire. The roll is kept in a pouch on Ken's left thigh. +15 Page Booklet of Explosive Tags - A booklet containing fifteen tear out pages of explosive tags. Kept in Ken's jacket. +Fire Brand - A steel wakazashi with a plain bronze hilt wrapped in black cloth. The hilt has a ruby embedded into it. Fire Brand is a special sword that allows Ken to utilize the Fire Element in special ninjutsu. This is located on Ken's back with the hilt sticking out above his right shoulder. +Wind Brand - A steel wakazashi with a plain bronze hilt wrapped in black cloth. The hilt has an emerald embedded into it. Wind Brand is a special sword that allows Ken to utilize the Wind Element in special ninjutsu. This is located on Ken's back with the hilt sticking out above Ken's left shoulder. +Earth Brand - A steel wakazashi with a plain bronze hilt wrapped in black cloth. The hilt has an onyx gem embedded into it. Earth Brand is a special sword that allows Ken to utilize the Earth Element in special ninjutsu. This is located on Ken's lower back with the hilt sticking out horizontally on his right side. Kekkei Genkai (optional) N/A Jutsus Basic Academy Jutsus Rank: E Description: Clone Jutsu, Replacement Jutsu, Rope Escape Jutsu, Transformation Jutsu Body Flicker Rank: D Description: Chakra is used to accelerate the movement of the shinobi's feet allowing him/her to move at remarkable speeds that are so fast that it seems as if the ninja simply disappeared. Quick Hands Rank: D Description: This is an extension of the Body Flicker technique developed by Ken'ichi, which allows him to focus chakra into his arms and hands to make them move with remarkable speed. Extensive use of this jutsu will be tiring to Ken'ichi until he has at least reached Chuunin rank. Fists of Blur Rank: D Description: A taijutsu that can only be used while Ken'ichi is utilizing his Quick Hands technique. The technique delivers an extremely rapid succession of blows onto the opponent starting with two to the abdomen, one to the diaphragm, one to face, and finishing with a sweeping kick of normal speed to the shins. Sword of Element Rank: C Description: With this jutsu Ken'ichi can utilize one or more of his Brand Swords. ---Fire Brand - Through the use of the Sword of Element technique, Fire Brand's blade will blaze with hot fire. A particularly hard and/or fast swing of the blade will project an arc of fire from the blade approximately three feet in length that will travel for a distance of up to six feet. ---Wind Brand - Through the use of the Sword of Element technique, Wind Brand's blade will become encircled by a buffeting torrent of wind. While still or hardly moving the blade acts more as a shield with the torrent of surrounding wind keeping the enemy back. When swung quickly and/or hard the blade will release the torrent of wind which will create a gust that can travel up to fifteen feet and it capable of knocking opponents off of their feet. ---Earth Brand - Through the use of the Sword of Element technique, whenever Earth Brand is swung hard and/or fast a ripple of earth will travel towards the target possibly knocking them off balance or hurting their feet and/or ankles. **The gems used in the swords have been cultured by scholars of the Sami Clan to change chakra from its raw form into elemental chakra. Much like the gloves that the Snow Nin wear that converts chakra into frozen water only much more compact and complicated than just freezing water. Manipulating Weapons Rank: C Description: This jutsu allows the user to control and manipulate blades with chakra in a manner similar to the Puppet Technique. Sample Roleplay: Ken body flickered onto the roof a small building located in a small village not too far from Getsu. This village was the place of Akane's birth, and the home of Akane's parents, who had abandoned the girl. The village wasn't a thriving village, nor a clean place, nor a particularly productive place. To tell the truth it was hard to spot a good thing about the village. Children ran around covered in dirt, playing tag. Other older children could be seen gambling with what little money they had in alleys and corners. Here and there an elderly person would be sitting outside in a wooden chair that rocked, clearly content with their retired lives. Occasionally, you saw a middle aged man or woman scurry from one building to another with a bundle in his or her hands, or perhaps some other object. Ken watched as a boy carried a pale of water up the dirt road that bisected the village and into the village center, which was a rough square of beaten in dirt where a few chickens pecked at the ground. The boy placed down the water near some of the chickens, apparently expecting them to drink out of it. The boy looked up and saw Ken. Immediately, his face was that of alarm, however, it quickly changed to a face of shock and surprise as a needle hit him in the chest and he fell to the ground. Ken had thrown a paralytic needle at the boy. Enough to shut him up. He jumped back into a tree and rested on one of the branches as he watched a few people rush to boy's aid, thinking that he suffered from a heat stroke. He looked to either side of him. On both sides of Ken were his too accomplices, Akira to his right and Akane to his left. "We have to act fast," he said, "It won't take long for them to realize that there is a needle protruding from his chest." |
