Genjutsu

Genjutsu, or the act of imprisoning another person in a thought, that is irrelevant to the world around them. There are many different kinds of Genjutsu, including binding genjutsu, which fool the opponent into thinking they are caught somewhere. There are pain Genjutsu, which put there opponent into a situations which they under-go great pain, and cannot escape. There is seal genjutsu, which is activated by placing a seal on the opponents body. There is time genjutsu, which fool a person into thinking that they have been somewhere for alot longer then it has been, and there are regular vision genjutsu, which cause the opponent to see visions which are not true, or have not happened yet.

Kai!
In Naruto, Kai also called "Dispel" was a technique seen used by Jounin. Generally people with good chakra control can learn it. However, it's a pretty basic Genin technique along with Water Walking and Tree Climbing. If the jutsu is below your level, you can not kai out of it.

Rankings:

D rank genjutsus - Academy Students and Genin
C rank genjutsus - Genin and Chunnin
B rank genjutsus - Chunnin and Jounin, Tokubetsu Jounin[Special Jounin], ANBU Chunnin
A rank genjutsus - Jounin, ANBU Jounin, Sannin, Kage
S rank genjutsus - Sannin, Kage

Specializing in Genjutsu

Specializing in genjutsu is a difficult thing, and requires a good roleplayer to use effectively. Genjutsu users normally require a team to help them, due to the fact that they are usually impared in some way, and not great at Taijutsu, or ninjutsu. This isn't the case for all genjutsu users, those who have chosen to specialize in genjutsu for a different reason, can be perfectly good at Genjutsu and Ninjutsu, but would be less effective at ninjutsu, since it takes a high amount of concentration to maintain genjutsu.

Using Genjutsu

The main way to connect a genjutsu to an opponent is by eye contact, which triggers a fear, or imaginary sensory within the pupil, that shows a set of images, or a different world in the other persons eyes. Another way to connect genjutsu is by a seal. The seal will send messages through the blood, and into the brain, causing the same effect. Genjutsu is mainly thought of as a distracting practice, but can also be used to cause loss of breath, or small amounts of pain from there experience in the illusion. Less powerful genjutsu are less likely to cause these effects, while more powerful once, will almost always cause them. The effects are as strong as if actual fighting was going on, but enough to give an upper hand to teammates.

Releasing Genjutsu

There are many ways to release genjutsu, but the main idea, is to relize that you are in the genjutsu, and cause pain to yourself, some of the ways to do this are as such.

Punching Yourself
The punch must be hard enough bruise oneself, this can only get the puncher out of very low genjutsu, or will take multiple punches to get out of higher ranked. Only one punch will be allowed per post, since the genjutsu would try to hold yourself back.

Biting the Tounge
Hard enough to draw blood. If you do it once, it won't work. Twice will cancel out the jutsu, but you can only bite your tongue once per post. Third time will sever the tongue off.

When stuck in a binding jutsu, biting the tongue once can allow you to move one limb. Such as to kick, use one seal [Such as Kai, but remember, if it is higher than your ranking then you can't kai out], throw a weapon. However, you can not bite your tongue for A and up ranked genjutsus. Just to prevent godmodding.

Stabbing Yourself
This is a last resort! If you stab yourself, it will cause immense pain, and that limb will be disabled for the rest of the post, but will instantly end the genjutsu. You will also be caused to limp for quite some time.

Extra Rules
Once a genjutsu is canceled, you must wait at least one post before casting another, just to be fair, and remember, unless you have sealing genjutsu, it takes deep concentration to cast, so you must be open in order to cast another genjutsu.
