Try using the drop down menu at the bottom of the page that says Edge by default. Click duoTek and see if the journal appears, as that was our original theme. ^__^ And I've taken a look at FFF and I have to say, they definitely did a better job setting a site up than I did. I'm currently sorting out the Garden to fit better as a place to discuss the series as a whole, with equal emphasis on FFVIII and FFXIII. Ustream sounds like a good idea... So, who would be interested in being a "guinea pig" of sorts to test it out?  Batgirl, could you link me to a final fantasy video stream? I search final fantasy and no game playthroughs showed up. Does the search just search currently active streams?I think it may be fun to try giving out challenges that people on the Garden can take and then stream as they do them. For example, the SSCC (solo single class challenge) for FFTactics. I'm also gonna try and work out how to use the Webpage Maker on Zetaboards. If I can't do that, I'll just make a front webpage from scratch and link it to here, as well as hopefully having a flash media player with all the FF soundtracks on as well. ^__^ |

Yay I found my journal! Thanks so much! The journals are a cool feature of this site that none of the other forums have, at least the ones I belong to. Once I hit FFXIII, I will use my journal more. ooo I love the idea of streaming challenges! Last week I borrowed my son's computer and was streaming FF12: International Zodiac Job System (IZJS) all week. I don't have an up-to-date computer of my own though, so no more streaming for me for awhile.  The following usernames are currently streaming FF games, just search for these usernames on ustream. ASephiroth--streaming FFIX pretty much daily. wee187--streamning FF12 IZJS FF12GrandMaster--FF12 IZJS most days of the week tebian--Final Fantasy Radio, all FF music, 24/7. HOWEVER, you will have a super cool opportunity to watch a Final Fantasy marathon on ustream, coming up this weekend! Starting August 21, fftogether.com will be doing a full 4 days of non-stop FF games, films along with Tebian of FFRadio. The marathon will be kicked off on Friday at 16:00 GMT with a speed run of FFXII by wee187, from Chicago. Saturday at 12:00 GMT Duskshards from the UK will stream the Trial Modes 1-100 of FFXII IZJS in 122333, this is a cool opportunity to see the Trial Modes if you haven't, and Duskshards is, in my view, the best FFXII IZJS player I know, and I know some fantastic players. Later at 15:00 GMT on Saturday ASephiroth (USA Colorado) will battle the Dark Aeons of FFX which will be cool for NTSC North American players to watch because we didn't get those in our edition of FFX. Also Saturday Someddrnoob of Canada will be playing the demo of FFXIII at 20:00 GMT. Da_Cloud of the Netherlands will be playing Crisis Core, and Dirge of Cerberus. Crybos of the USA (I think) will be playing FFVII on Sunday. Monday will be complete Advent Children and then a run of Dirge of Cerberus by Da_Cloud. Tuesday FFXII: IZJS will be played by FF12GrandMaster (of the UK) with instruction on RNG Manipulation for obtaining rare treasure items. He is the only streamer who gives live commentary and it is screamingly funny, with his unedited cussing, lol. Sorry, didn't mean for this to be a promo, but I thought it might help to know the schedule to decide what to watch, as some things are mostly FF12. If you want to see more, the stream will be live on fftogether.com, the stream window is at the bottom of the forum page. I know McTricky streams, cuz I've seen him on ustream, heheh.

Heh, no worries. I'll let the promo slide. Especially since it'll be useful for me to see. Is it possible to stream from the computer screen? Because my PSX games are different regions to my PS2 so I have to emulate them. Secondly, I looked around in the Admin CP, and I think the journals should be available in the Edge theme now. They should appear on your profile page under the Personal Blog section. ^__^ I hope.

Okay I found how to reach the journals on the Edge theme. To get there, I click on my name at the bottom of the forum, rather than at the top. Once at the journals, there is no link to get back to the regular forum, except to click on Directory and then the forum. Also, as a note the new theme makes the journal text gray on top of the darker gray background, nearly impossible to read. So, if I do any journaling I'll probably use the duotek theme instead. Maybe at some point there might be a direct link to the journals because a new member would have no way of knowing about the journal feature. It's such a cool feature too! As for streaming from your computer screen, you can do that easily. For PC, you need to download a small program called WebCamMaxx. For Mac, it's CamTwist (OS 10.4 and higher). ustream has the links for downloading these on their Help section. They also have a very good forum and FAQ for troubleshooting. I don't recommend Dazzles, the audio doesn't work with ustream which doesn't support Dazzle drivers. It can work to use a female audio component with a 1/8" mini plug into the mic input on a computer to feed the Dazzle audio into the computer mic input. Still I don't think the Dazzle picture is all that great (washed out colors) and Dazzles seem to d/c often. And then too for no reason ustream won't recognize a Dazzle even though it worked fine the day before. Dazzles are a pain in the butt at best. Webcams like a basic logitech are a MUCH better picture when focused on a TV screen. I even have a 7 inch travel screen attached to my PS 2 which gives about a 4 inch screen, and even that came out lovely on ustream via a logitech webcam. I just heard from FF12GrandMaster though that logitech webcams are absurdly expensive in the UK  He paid about 98 quid for the same cam that my son bought for about $39 in the US. ack!!! Anyway, ustream finds that logitech webcam and its mic everytime, and people could even hear me cracking open a Diet Coke can while streaming!

Heh, I've got a VERY old logitech cam (so old they don't update the support or show it in their main list) and it cost £30 two years ago. xD Anyway... I shall look into the blogs, because that's far too long winded... As mentioned, I'm gonna try and set up a website section as well, so I'll put a direct link there. I'll also try and put a direct link at the top of the forum as well. |
