Punishment before SeeD Exam - By Ragnarok_42 (originally posted on CreationAsylum):
Spoiler: click to toggle Its simple, play cards. Get Queztecotyl's Card Mod and just play cards around Balamb Garden. With a lot of patience you can get the neccessary cards to make the materials for all the weapons except for the Lionhart. Its a very useful little hack if you want to make Squall into a powerhouse very early on.
Lionheart on Disc 1 - By McTricky (originally posted on CreationAsylum):
Spoiler: click to toggle There's a guy in the Balamb Town. Play cards with him and get 20 Enoyles cards from him. With this, you can refine some Pulse Ammo. Also, beat Minotaur and Sacred and refine 10 Admantines from the Minotaur card. And fight Grendels near Galbaldia to get Dragon Fangs.
Information about the Spirit and Judgement score for the the SeeD exam - By McTricky (originally posted on CA):
Spoiler: click to toggle The Spirit is based on the amount of times you run away from X-ATM092. The only time you can run from it is when you first enounter it. Naturally you'd just have to avoid all battles with that thing to get a Spirit of 100pts. And Judgement is based on Ifrit. The less time you have when you defeat him the higher points for Judgement you get. So just time you final attack with Shiva when time is almost up
General SeeD Exam tips - By McTricky (originally posted on CA):
Spoiler: click to toggle Your points are based on your conduct. If you talk to anyone (apart from the people you have to) during the mission, you lose some points. When Selphie jumps down the cliff to catch Seifer, don't jump off the cliff also. Walk around. When you get the the square (whilse being chased by the robot spider) with fountain, talk to the dog quickly so it runs away. Funnily enough, this nets you some points. Also, there will be a chance where you can go inside the building to avoid the spider completely. Don't. You will lose MAJOR points for doing this.
Now aside from the points. Here's a couple of things I've noticed. You [should] probably avoid ALL fights with the robot spider (apart from the first compulsory one and perhaps the one at the bridge).
After the first fight. Run like hell. At the next screen, the spider will then creep up. Run the next screen. And then keep running. If you stop for a nano-second, you'll be caught by the spider as it jumps onto the cliff. At the next screen, walk. Yes, that's right. WALK. If you run, you'll be caught by a minor earthquake and the spider will get you. Now here's where you'll get a fight 99% of the time, at the bridge. Run across the bridge, when it jumps over you turn back. The spider will then chase you at hi-speed. If you have that 1% percent of luck, and you're fast enough, you can go back to the previous screen and then go back across the bridge without any trouble. That's what I was able to do. After that you should be able to avoid all fights just by running.
Alternate Method of Avoiding XATM092 on the bridge - by EvenAngels (originally posted by me on CA, modified for clarity):
Spoiler: click to toggle When your party reaches the Bridge, run the right hand side of the screen until you hear XATM092 jump (it's a pretty obvious when it does it). At this point, turn around and run left. In a few seconds the same sound will be heard, meaning XATM092 has jumped again. Now simply run to the right of screen, and to the next area, as it won't jump again.
Angelwing Trick - by EvenAngels
Spoiler: click to toggle Having trouble with a difficult battle? Got to the point in time where Rinoa has Angelwing? Then the answer is simple. Place Rinoa in your party and remove all magic from her except for Ultima. Junction Ultima to whatever you want, and enter the battle. Cast Aura on Rinoa, or get her Limit Break the standard way, and activate Angelwing. Although you lose control of her, she will only ever cast Ultima on the enemy. Also, as long as she is in the Angelwing state, her magic won't decrease (or at least it shouldn't lol) meaning infinite Ultimas cast every turn!
