Hey folks, it's been a while. To keep this short, I'd like to do a quick and dirty Zelda RP. It wouldn't be CoH in name since that's BO's thing, but it would (try to) be kind of a spiritual successor. I have a skeleton outlined for a plot but for the most part I'd be winging things in response to what you guys do. Since I haven't played any of the newer LoZ games the setting is 1 year after OoT. Survivors are slowly rebuilding Hyrule but things are pretty grim, and that's enough for a start. I can start once there's a few characters. I won't have a player character of my own. I will only control NPCs so moving the plot along is in part up to players. Character Sheet Map Rank Information Attunement Info

can i make a super cool ninja village and give my character the spinning-mirror-crystal-six-harmonious-eight-trigram-path eyes as part of his bloodline limit break signature secret technique can we start with super hylian god super hylian unification unlocked at the beginning can we give someone besides Matt the Master Sword this time, cause that guy sucks But on a serious note, what kind of overall feel would you prefer we go for with characters, plots, etc? Do you want it to still feel like Zelda, and want to stick close to lore/typical conventions where possible? Is it just kind of "anything goes" with some vague anime flavor, using the Zelda world as a convenient backdrop like we usually do? And if it's that second one, is the anime flavor closer to something like Ruroni Kenshin, Full Metal Alchemist, or other low-end settings or are we going full Nardo/Belch/DBZSKaiAbridged? Do you have some specific plot points or a bare-bones kind of summary for the storyline, or is this meant to be more of a sandbox? Also if you need help with anything feel free to bounce ideas off me. |

Yes, no but we'll get there quick-ish, maybe. >Is it just kind of "anything goes" with some vague anime flavor, using the Zelda world as a convenient backdrop like we usually do? And if it's that second one, is Second one! are we going full Nardo/Belch/DBZSKaiAbridged? Yes! It's a sandbox with a plot, I have a villain and some specific and nonspecific plot points but people are mostly free to do what they want. I'll speak up if something is too much. I'm hoping it will be like CoH in the sense that it starts off following my plot but then people begin to add on and build around it once the world/story has been more established. All of my stuff is ready to go, just need people. I'll post some more background info on the world in a minute. Edited by Keith, March 19, 2017, 11:20 am.

World Notes: -Zora are nearly extinct after being slaughtered by Ganon, any Zora characters will be among the last of their kind. Domain is still frozen -Kokiri have scattered into the Lost Woods due to Moblin aggression -Castle Town has been reclaimed and is rebuilding but lacks cohesive leadership -Link and Zelda never returned after defeating Ganon, and the only thing that remains of his castle is the lava pit -Rupees are worthless -To facilitate survival, the crafting of tools such as bombs, arrows, potions, and so on is common knowledge and anyone can do it -Sages never returned from the Sacred Realm either -The Sacred Realm is currently sealed off -Although Link never showed his face again, the Master Sword did mysteriously return to the Temple of Time -The Sacred Stones are still in the Temple of Time as well -I changed my mind, all "items of power" like the Stones or the Medallions are off-limits. Ask for approval! The setting is supposed to be a sort of "Hylian Souls Z" Edited by Keith, March 25, 2017, 6:30 pm.

Name: Karn Race: Lizalfos Age: 25 Sex: Male Appearance: Karn is a moderately tall being, standing at six feet one inch. He's broad shouldered and well built for a reptilian being. Unlike most lizalfos he's opted to go for more power than the typical speed and agility. His under-scales are a pale cream, off-white, color and are more like plates than actual scales. The rest of his scales are a greenish-blue, depending on the lighting. There's few scars on his body, most hidden by the off-white color of his under-scales. Although he does have two grooves carved into the horn on his nose. Spoiler: click to toggle Background: Karn was always a bit different from the typical lizalfos. Even in his youth he chose different paths from the rest. Not that there were many options to begin with since their environment was so spartan. Either way he looked at things a little differently than his siblings. They went the agility route common with lizalfos, Karn took to the strength path. They learned to fight early, he learned how to craft arms and armor. The others would make new tunnels and he'd learn the old ones until he memorized them. It wasn't until later on that he learned how to use weapons. It was fairly obvious that the straight swords and maces weren't fit for him. Too small and too light for him. The gauntlet was alright for a while but he needed something more substantial. So an axe was made for him and he took to it like a fish to water. Simple, heavy, can cut through whatever he swung at. Which at the time were rocks and invading gorons. The dirt suckers always tried to claim the old lizalfos tunnels for their own when they actually found a vein. It would have been fine if the gorons wanted to coexist, but they didn't want the lizalfos around. Even though there was no food dispute, lizalfos eat meat not dirt and rocks. At a certain point his tribe had lost to much to the gorons who kept spreading to find "tastier rocks", instead of eating what they had. Karn had noticed, despite keeping to himself and working on blacksmithing, that politics weren't doing anything. So he took it upon himself to actually do something. That something was to go into one of their old tunnels and empty it. Obviously he met opposition, but he knew the tunnels better than the gorons and managed to evict them through sheer force. A few times he had to get especially violent to get the message through, which led to the deaths of some gorons. This of course didn't sit well with either side. Sure the lizalfos were happy they were getting their old homes back, but they were getting the blame for what Karn was doing. Then Ganondorf came along and imprisoned the gorons for Volvagia to devour and blackmailed the lizalfos tribe into working for him. The blackmail was pretty graphic, he made their chieftain explode with a spell, so either do what he wanted or get wiped out. Another issue to be had but Karn couldn't do anything about it. He had no true defense against spells aside from fire, which Ganondorf didn't use. So he had to stew in it for seven years, working for a brutal taskmaster who didn't care about anything but his own power. Then things changed, rumors of a hylian cropped up all over the place clearing out the temples. Then the skies changed over Death Mountain and Castletown. Ganondorf had been defeated, supposedly, by this single teenager. The gorons were back on the mountain as well but much fewer in number than they had been before. So while things were relatively calm Karn took it upon himself to get his butt to Castletown and start building up a relationship with them. It was obviously rocky to start but he stuck it out. The people grew used to having him around, they didn't shy away or outright run anymore. But there was still the air of uneasiness. His lack of social etiquette didn't exactly help things along either, very blunt and gruff. But still he stuck it out, he didn't want to go back to the old days where the Hylians and Gorons ganged up on his people just because the gorons wanted their land. Equipment:

Name: Tai Race: Sheikah (Wulin Sect) Age: 18 Appearance: Spoiler: click to toggle Tai stands at an even 6 feet, and weighs about 170 pounds. Though his flowing clothing hides it, his body is defined as if it were sculpted from marble as a testament of physical prowess--yet here and there are scars and callouses, each one a reminder of the pain that must come with gain. Like many Sheikah, his hair is blonde and his eyes are crimson; his most oft-worn expression is one of focus, brows furrowed and lips drawn tight, but a good way to gauge the danger in the general vicinity (whether it's Tai or someone else who's actually BEING dangerous) is how wide he's smiling. He wears a style of clothing unusual in Hyrule--it shares characteristics with some of the more traditional Sheikah garb, but it's obvious that over the years Tai's clan have drifted from the typical culture of their race. Though the gold trim adds an air of elegance, his attire is fairly simple; a white, long sleeved robe and dark colored pants, along with a pair of supple shoes with no laces. Equipment: - Nothing of Importance Background: Long ago, the Sheikah followed the Goddess Hylia, and swore to protect her Reincarnation. When the Goddesses' line gave birth to the Royal Family of Hyrule, the Shadow Folk would reaffirm their vow, and become the eternal protectors of every king and queen and their progeny. But not all Sheikah shared the same desires--as in any group, there were those who differed in opinion. One particular group voiced their opinion: "We will not openly defy the Royal Line, nor will we antagonize the rest of the tribe. But we will not spend our lives on bent knee, with bowed heads. We will follow our own path, and live for our own ideals." Thus they separated from the rest of the tribe, and hid themselves away on the far side of Death Mountain, in a deep and dark forest. They came to be called the Wulin Sect, and in the few moments of history where they appeared, they were established as a powerful entity. They carried on the arts of stealth, combat, and magic from the main branch, and sought to improve them. Their arts came to be known as an "Assassin's Fist," for they could kill with a single well placed strike. When Ganon devastated the land, the Wulin debated whether they should break their long-imposed isolation and return to the aid of their bretheren. But before a decision could be reached, Ganon's dark magic turned the sky above Death Mountain red as blood. It was not only the awakening of Volvagia (who terrorized the Gorons), but the mountain itself began to erupt, to spit fire and rock high into the air. Yet oddly enough, only the very peak of the mountain was dangerous to any Hylian explorer who might dare approach. This was because, in fact, Ganon intentionally channeled the eruption--to create a steady flow of danger over the other side of the mountain, and draw a line of fire between the land of Hyrule and the powerful Wulin Sect. So they were forced to bide their time. Seven years later, the skies cleared. But shortly after, Ganon himself was defeated. Now the Wulin are unsure of the state of things--and in addition, the clan has another problem. A certain problem child, born to the Clan Head's bloodline, who has sworn to become the strongest of them all and take his brother's place in the line of succession. Tai has left the hidden village, seeking the rest of the wide world on his journey to find power. Elemental Affinity: Fire and Spirit Abilities: Spoiler: click to toggle

Name: Hydrassion "Drasa" Race: Zora Age: 27 Appearance: A tall silver-blue Zora, standing at an even seven feet when surfaced. A notable scar plagues Hydrassion's face, across the left eye and extending from the forehead to just above the lip. The eye was lost in the injury, but a large white pearl fills the cavity, contrasting the deep blue of the Zora's right eye. Hydrassion's torso is covered in scaled armor, made from plates of coral. While on land, the armor is a bland and lifeless grey, but once submerged, the armor is a beautiful array of bright colors, each changing as the light shines and refracts off the coral plates. Wrapping the armor and Zora together is a blue toga, covering the waist and upper thighs and draping over the right shoulder. An additional piece of blue cloth is fastened to the back of the shoulder, hanging freely. A metallic bracer adorns Hydrassion's throwing arm, on the right. It is made from the same metal as the Trident, and is capable of deflecting glancing blows. Equipment:

Name: Caleb Nole Race: Hylian Age: 17 Sex: Male Appearance: Caleb is a short handsome individual with thick and short hair swept over one eye and tan skin. He stands at a somewhat unimposing 5'6", but the confidence with which he carries himself seems to almost make one forget. His eyes are green and his features are well maintained and delicate, implying a lifestyle of comfort. Equipment: Caleb wears white silk clothing in battle with no visible armor. His left arm wields a rusted sword, a family heirloom. It changes shape in combat. His right hand, his non dominant hand, appears to have a complex gauntlet on it which allows him a greater degree of control over his magic. Background: The Nole family has long been well regarded throughout Hylian history. Magic can be considered the great unequalizer in worlds as fantastical as that of Hyrule. Even before the most recent crisis, magic has always created an invisible divide between those capable of using it with enough proficiency to be warriors, and those who have not. The Nole lineage through careful and, admittedly disturbing, breeding has managed to maintain a consistent degree of magical proficiency in its bloodline to create a network of mages who have wielded great influence in varying areas of the precrisis Hyrule. Over time the meaning of "mages" has blurred. What is clear though is that the family has a consistent magical property that has allowed to consistently produce members who possess some "magic" heroic powers or traits, whether that make them warrior, thieves, or mages. Caleb was born as the son of the famous berserker Zacharias Nole and mother Aeris, a cleric. Despite raising Caleb to the best of their combined abilities and attempting to shelter him from the conflicts of Hyrule, the task proved to be too great. Their own abilities proved to be their own undoing, and they found themselves killed in their own efforts to defend Hyrule during its time of conflict with Ganon after attracting attention due to their talents. Over the course of conflict the influence of the Nole family and its various branches diminished but was not exterminated, all of this occuring by the time Caleb was 14 and his older brother Leonard Nole was 20. Leonard Nole proved to be more than up to the task of training Nole and preserving the traditions his parents had tried to keep alive with little help from other Nole relatives who were suffering from similar circumstances. By the time Nole was 17 the conflict ended and his family again rose to prominence rapidly filling the existing vacuums of power even in its diminished state. However no longer wielding its previous wealth and influence granted by its connections from before, it found itself unable to steer the future of Hyrule in any positive direction. That is, until now. While Castle Town exists as a bizarre bastion with at least a notable degree of security due to its concentration of militia and magically gifted wanderer and warriors, the remainder of Hyrule has received no such love. In these times of strife a new organization has begun to form born from an intense dissatisfaction with the inability of Hyrule to defend itself and its perceived inability to organize the talent that exists within the land; The Cult of Link. The Cult of Link, also known as The Green Knights, are warriors with origins from remnants of heroes and soldiers who scattered during Hyrule's time of need. They roam the areas outside of Castle Town recruiting members from people who are upset with their inability to be defended as Hyrule rebuilds. The Cult of Link believes that Link ascended to a higher level of existence and that this signals an end to the loosely organized "Age of Heroes" that allowed wandering mercenaries and soldiers to defend Hyrule from large threats while soldiers maintained the peace. They see that magic has run amok as powerful individuals carve out tiny empires for themselves while competing for influence. The Cult of Link wants to forcefully recruit "individuals of power" into their ranks, and slaughter those "individuals of power" who do not join their ranks as destabilizing potential threats. In other words, the Cult of Link wants to monopolize power and create a "Mage's Guild" which can centralize power to a degree that the strongest of Hyrule will serve its best interests always and powerful individuals and citizens can live separate lives. The Cult of Link goes a step further however in its goals, and wishes to additionally exterminate all non-Hylian individuals. Though there was initial disagreement about this, the agreement of alliance with Lizalfos who still terrorize areas of Hyrule where the alliance cannot be as well enforced, has created enough resentment to let this view dominate their relations with others. They believe that all other forms of life have the potential to be destabilizing forces to the peace. They took Link's killings in the name of fighting for a better hyrule a step farther, to imply that it is the fate of Hylians to dominate their neighbors and create a society that will not only be safe from future conflicts, but will also prevent them from happening again. The Cult of Link has attracted a growing following. They do not just defend Hylians from attack, they assist them by systematically finding camps and non-combative members of races who traditionally antagonize Hylians and slaughtering them. This forces them to relocate or better yet, cease to exist. They do not clear dungeons and caves infested with monsters, they purge them and take measures to ensure they can no longer support life so they never repopulate. They are a perverted extension of Link's dungeon clearing nature, or perhaps a more thorough way of doing things. Either way they have gained growing popularity throughout Hyrule, with most resistance being found in heavily defended centers of population like Castle Town where the food, water, and stability they provide is less appreciated and the xenophobia is not as strong. The Nole family has grown increasingly close with the Green Knights to the alarm of the powers that be in Castle Town. It's of little surprise, the Nole family was a structured system of producing heroes and magical individuals. They were one of the few organized "institutions" of magic and many high ranking Green Knight members are Nole affiliates. Still though many activities they pursue have been less amicable. One chapter has gone off on a quest to find a way to exterminate the last remnants of the Zora. "The Dragon Slayers" is another large and more popular chapter which is currently waging crusade against Lizalfos and the brutal efficiency with which they kill them has caused a significant strain on the seemingly unnatural alliance. Leonard has joined The Cult of Link and currently wishes to benefit Hyrule. The cult has a limited but steadily growing presence in Castle Town and the governing body is reluctant to ban them for fear of backlash among moderate Hylians. Caleb has joined as well after some initial hesitation, mostly wishing to stay in the comfort of following his older brother. More members of the Nole family have joined or sided in opposition as the issue begins impossible to ignore. Caleb is a "Mage Knight", excelling in high damage low cast time magic with limited range. He has a tremendous affinity for Light Magic, and uses blessings to bolster himself in combat, giving him the freedom to wear light armor. While not exceptionally fast, his movementsare deliberate and precise, giving the illusion of him being quicker than he really he is. One need only see how much faster his strikes are than his movements to confirm such a theory. His strategy in combat is to finish battles in few hits using his close range spells which deal tremendous damage. He has an affinity for fairies. Elemental Affinity: Light Abilities: Fairy Knight Heavily blesses the user's weapon. Regardless of the weapon Caleb is carrying, it will glow white light and be molded into the shape of the Fairy Sword. The sword appears to be made of pure energy. It inflicts magic damage instead of physical damage. This leads to some interesting interactions. He will deal more warriors than mages and his sword will "clash" with magical spells, potentially deflecting them. This ability has the undesirable side effect of making stealth impossible. Oblivion The sword glows white, and does so until it appears blinding to those staring at it. The next swing will tear a rift in the area immediately in front of Caleb. An orb of light magic is generated in front of Caleb which will totally rend the area in front of him, often times leaving a crater in the ground in front of him. This ability while dealing tremendous damage and fast for such a destructive spell, is very intensive in mana consumed and is not a long ranged spell. Magical Flux Caleb's sword glows yellow and then begins to lose its solid forrm. Instead it appears as an unstable glowing aura of energy in the vague shape of a sword. His next swing will deal light based damage in a wide area in front of him with a wave of white energy. This attack gives him a tremendous advantage in sword fights, as it is both close range and impossible to parry in the traditional sense which forces re-positioning for most individuals. The disadvantage is that this is also true for Caleb as in the act of swinging he cannot block a sword strike. Edited by kill, April 4, 2017, 12:31 pm.
