Also here's an important note about HP I forgot to mention. Whenever you level up, you'll add a number to your HP, as well as recalculating your modifier. The numbers are as such:

Barbarian - 6
Cavalier - 5
Ranger - 4
Cleric - 3
Wizard - 2
Rogue - 3
Assassin - 2

So a Level 1 Barbarian with 11 CON would have this:

12(class number) + 0(CON mod) = 12 HP

When he goes up to Level 2 by putting 1 point into STR, he recalculates:

12(class number) + 6(natural progression) + 0(CON mod) = 18 HP

When he goes up to Level 3 by putting 1 point into CON, that makes his CON 12. At 12, his modifier changes to +1. He recalculates.

12(class number) + 6(level 2) + 6(level 3) + 1(CON mod) = 25 HP

Hopefully this will mitigate the fact that Equipment and Leveling up allows a character's offensive abilities to go up at a much quicker rate than their CON modifier. If your only way to increase HP was to increase your CON, we'd have people getting one shot after a few levels because your ability to inflict damage adds your STR/DEX mods AND whatever dice your weapon/spell has on it. If you need help understanding this or have questions or concerns, let me know.

Barbarians are going to have an ABSURD amount of HP in only a few levels.

Barbarians are going to have an ABSURD amount of HP in only a few levels.
If they're pumping CON and STR to continue increasing their natural talents, though, they're not pumping INT or DEX or WIS or LUCK. Less INT means they can't cast spells without spending precious anima, less DEX means less AC so they take more hits, less WIS and LUCK means they're more likely to fail against things like illusions, poisons, traps, etc.

Wail on them from range with high accuracy, and they'll be cut down before they reach you. Don't fight brutes with brute force, fight them with guile and trickery.

Have a Wizard cast a spell that inflicts paralysis or poison, the Barbarian fails the save and thus can't move or is taking more damage over time. Have a Ranger ploink arrows into him and withdraw to another vantage point. Have a Cleric cast healing or defensive spells to make up for not having as much HP.

This kind of system forces people to actually think about their strategies instead of just duking it out.

So how many stat points are we acquiring per level up?
spend 200 anima to gain a level and increase a single chosen stat by +1 to the base number.

whenever you gain a level, also gain the number of HP for your class.

If a Cavalier has 10 HP and no con modifier and 10 STR at level one

When he gets to level 2, and adds 1 point to STR, he will then have 11 STR, and 15 HP because his hp goes up by 5 every level.

Because there's no con mod he doesn't add that. If he did have a con mod, it only gets added once--not per level.

So it's 10 +5 +Con mod

NOT 10 + (5+con mod) + con mod
