Which of these do you find more interesting? Crest Ability System Players would get individual Crests, either as a treasures in dungeons, or by defeating enemies and taking theirs. Crests can be combined to create Crests Abilities: Element Crests give an element to the Crest Ability, Form Crests give form to the Crest Ability, and Modifier Crests grants additional properties to the Crest Ability. Multiple Branching Ability Tree System All players would start with a single basic ability that grants a 'sixth sense', and would be able to unlock more pre-existing abilities as the game progresses. Depending on which abilities a player choses, that determines their class and what kind of abilities they can unlock next. For example, to unlock "Great Fireball" you'd first need to unlock "Fireball". Ex: ![]() |

Crests cause the other would get unbalanced as fuck once we included custom branches because it relies more on predetermined stuff |

I would go with crests as well that transform with pre-selected growth options myself. |
