Name: Michael "Zhen" Song
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Theme: The Wind Doesn't Draw Heroes Turbulence Better Get Runnin'
Appearance: Asian, 5'10" tall, typical black hair and eyes. Said hair is short, not long enough to reach his ears and often gelled to be spikey and a slight widow's peak. Very slim build, decently pale from lack of sunlight. Often has notable bags under his eyes, if he ever takes off his glasses. Thin, sharp face, but usually a laid-back expression on it. Wears a gray hoodie over a white tee and black jeans, black boots with yellow highlights, black fingerless gloves. Has a pair of earphones hanging off his hoodie's collar, the wire under his shirt. Often has a blue backpack over his shoulders... whenever he's, y'know, even outside in the first place. A lanyard with the words "Supernormal" hangs from one jean pocket (it's his favorite comic).
Background: Well, I'm from Central Zero... least my parents are. Don't think they're really affiliated with any of the factions, but came up here to North to get out of that chaos. Neither am I, really. Affiliated. With factions. More of a neutral party than anything. They got me a basic education... well, no shit with this face, right? Hah... Anyways, yeah, I'm decent with numbers and I can read at least. Parents'd kill me otherwise. Kept telling me to help out with things. Didn't really have a choice, y'know? We all needed to eat... 's the reason why I'm here, haha.
Aah... lessee... My dad was really good with machinery, but it was just a little bit of tinkering and all that on the side. He didn't really show me too much, but I can at least do some basic maintenance. 's how I keep these things in good shape. The world'd be more boring if there wasn't music goin' on, or if I could pass time with this little bad boy here... Hinge broke off once, and I managed to get it back to working order well enough. Then again, they're probably the reason why I'm wearing these glasses in the first place, haha! Need to find a laser Astral someday to fix it up, you have no idea how much a pain it is to keep these clean here...But, uh, I'm not that great for maintenance. Parents, er, kicked me out when I became a teen. Rebellious age and all that... Haven't been able to find them since, so I figured they either disappeared or are really good at hiding from me. Probably the first, all things considered, with this world...
Hm?
...Oh. Oh, yeah. I... yeah. I guess that might've.... well, contributed to the... problem... OK, fine, yes, me developing into an Astral helped push that choice. It was dangerous for them, and I was an idiot. Sooner or later, people kept coming after me, trying to recruit me at the least, force me to join at the most. It... was a mutual thing, OK? I ran off, they kicked me out. I dunno if they're alive or not, but... OK, that doesn't have anything to do with this, alright? Yes, I'm an Astral, and I've got decent enough of a mental muscle to use it. That's what you want, right? Good. All I want is a place to live and some income.
Great! I promise I won't make much noise up there and I'll keep it clean. Whenever you need me, just holler and I'll come down, help with any of the customers. Can't throw them out - physically or mentally - but I can at least scare 'em off. Better than living on the streets, at least. Seriously, though, you won't regret this. Thank you so much, sir.
Non-interview version Michael was born near the border between Central and Northern Zero, with parents that were Asian enough to teach him a basic education. He learned some basic tinkering from his father - not that much, but enough to figure things out. He helped out with their day-to-day lives to survive... but when he developed his telekinesis powers in his pre-teen years, tension sparked between him and his parents. Said tension also spread to the factions wrestling for control in Central Zero, trying to recruit Michael for their own purposes. He stubbornly tried to remain neutral, but the danger he put his parents into eventually led to his 13-year old self running away - out of legitimate concern for them, despite what he'd say otherwise - and them kicking him out - a devout sense of danger really scaring them.
He made it to North Zero for a while, living on the streets for two years and generally believing it to be the worst time of his life. He didn't align to Bioptimus Pharmaceutical, but he at least made sure to not piss them off. When he turned 15, he found and took a job/living space above a restaurant, where he's been ever since. He's a pretty good cook, but damned if he isn't lazy. Granted, getting yelled at by the people he's working for tends to get him to do stuff anyways.
Powers:
- Telekinesis - 1 - Manipulate and move tangible, identifiable objects from afar. Also Mind Projectiles.
- Poltergeist - Remotely moving and manipulate an object. Use a knife to cut as if he was using it himself, pour himself a cup of water while playing on his video games, throw something at someone's head without actually holding it... Stuff like that. Can't do precise, delicate movements, though, without actual concentration.
- Pew! - Fires a small, blue, rippley mass of telekinetic energy, which disorients more than it harms. Successive hits over a few posts can stun them momentarily.
- Power Overwhelming - Michael can influence an object already in motion to slightly veer in a different direction. Influence depends on the mass of the object: the smaller it is, the easier it is to push it while it's in motion already.
- Exstral - 1 - An injection that increases the natural tendencies of an Astral's body, boosting their power levels.
Inventory:
- $600
- Empty Exstral bottle
- Music Player
- Portable Game
- Bike Keys
- Switchblade Knife
- Blair's Death Hot Sauce. Because Why not?

 Mover, Shaker, Brute and Breaker.
Master, Tinker, Blaster and Thinker,
Striker, Changer, Trump and Stranger.
Worm: Power Classifications Mover - Powers that allow movement over great distances at a time. Includes flyers, Teleporters and speedsters. Shaker - Powers that affect their surroundings in some way. Can, for example, bend or compress the space in the world or creating forcefields. Brute - Powers that grant extreme durability and/or have above average strength, either through superhuman toughness or an incredibly effective healing factor. Breaker - Powers that "break" the laws of nature for themselves, allowing them to survive in impossible states. For example, when dealing with an Elemental Shapeshifter (being able to breath if they're made of fire) or the minor aspects that allow them to survive the use of their powers (like altering how friction applies to speedsters). Master - Powers that allow them to control others or create minions. Tinker - Powers capable of highly specialized technological/biological creations years ahead of their time: from building laser guns or a hover board to growing chimera-like creatures. Separated into two types: Specialty tinkers have a specific type of thing they build, while method tinkers are unique in how they tinker. Wide-scope method tinkers theoretically can create anything but with a catch, such as the inability to create the same thing perfectly twice or narrow-scopes that are more limited but can create extra effects with what they do have. Blaster - Powers that grant a ranged attack, such as emitting lasers, hard light, or elemental powers. Thinker - Powers that deal with the mind, allowing for instant analysis, efficient information retrieval, or outright precognition abilities. Striker - Possible subgroup of Breakers. The ability to apply an effect at point-blank range, whether it be an elemental punch or healing at a touch. Changer - Powers that allow changing or shifting forms. Effects range from changing parts of their own body to weapons to morphing into a more suitable body for a given situation. Also known as Shifters. Trump - Meta-powers that copy or interfere with other powers, or which give them access to many different powers in some other way. Includes those whose power adapts on the fly, copies other people's powers, granting other people minor powers, and nullifying powers. Stranger - Powers that can be used for stealth purposes, such as invisibility, lacking any notability, or erasing any memories of their existence.

...Tactical gloves with built in grappling hooks...
- Mythbusters Episode 86: Superhero Hour
-
Superheroes can use grappling hooks to quickly scale walls. BUSTED To begin, Adam used a plain grappling hook and rope while Jamie had a special cannon that could shoot the hook 100 feet in the air. While it took several tries for Adam to throw the grappling hook over a 20 foot wall and gain purchase, Jamie managed to accomplish this task in one shot. They then attempted to scale the wall, but found that scaling a wall with just a grappling hook and rope was too difficult and time consuming. Adam and Jamie then began working on different parts of the popular grappling hook gadgets. Adam would build the gun what would deliver the grappling hook into the wall, while Jamie would build the winch that would allow the superhero to actually scale the wall. Jamie tested his hand held winch, which managed to pull him up 27 feet in just 20 seconds. Adam then tested his gun, which took numerous tries to find purchase in the wall. When Adam attempted to swing from the line, it instantly failed. Even with such mixed results, the Mythbusters agreed that a hand-held grappling hook device was too implausible.

(Then again we have an Aperture Science Personality Core outfitted with a ranged taser, Super Dog, and a guy with stupidly hot hot sauce, so I think we're sufficiently anime)
(also joking please dont kill me)

Kaze: Eh it'll work.
Matt: Thunderclap might need some reworking. You know that thunder's caused by a sonic boom due to superheated air that's over like, 5000 degrees C or something, right? Other than that it's fine.
Persona: Being able to sense people seems more like a telepathy power, which is kind of banned. Other than that it's fine.
Yggdra: What do you mean by "tactical grappling hooks?" Also remember this is kinda like fallout--where'd she come across all the gun/ammo/etc gear and how'd she keep it when something like that would be so valuable in this setting? We're post-apoc survivors here not secret agents. The power itself is fine though.
Everybody make sure you're making the correct distinction between your Permanent Boosts and your Pills. Permanent Boosts, delivered via injection, don't have side effects and are listed under your Powers. Pills DO have side effects and characters must keep track of their dosage, and they go under the Inventory.

They're kinda like a mechanism similar to the ones used by the metal benders in LoK. Instead of.... bending the metal out, she'd probably push buttons on it that allows her to launch the hook and pull the hook back in.
As for how she acquired all these things? She either stole them from the people who possessed them or she bought them via black market.

Okay see those don't even exist in the real world, and to make them/buy them/steal them would be a whole separate issue considering none of us at the current level would be black market dealer bosses or master thieves or whatever.
I'm okay with her having some kind of weapon, but I think a gun even with limited ammo would be a bit much.

We already have a talking dog and a sentient robot with an armed taser and neither of those exist in the real world as well. Even if they do exist, I am very sure that those two would be far more advanced than grappling hook gloves.
And of course with limited ammo, I would be more fearful of someone who can shoot lightning around, turn into a golem, or be tough as diamonds.

And of course with limited ammo, I would be more fearful of someone who can shoot lightning around, turn into a golem, or be tough as diamonds. I think the issue here is less "Ridiculous fictional things that we give our characters" (...which is a problem, yes), more "how did you even get these things?" Sin justified having an Aperture Science Personality Core Outfitted With Aperture Science Electro-Gun Thinger with Seraphim making it in her free time over two years (...which, OK, is still really out there). Matt's Nassus doesn't seem to talk in this iteration, as Niroth pointed out before I could finish this post (and, even then, the justification there would probably be being an Astral, too). There's also the fact that these don't add too much to the plate - I'm assuming the Aperture Science Personality Core Outfitted With Aperture Science Electro-Gun can't do much other than scout things out and stun people very briefly. Probably runs on a limited battery, too. Nassus is... uh, a dog. Admittedly a lot a dog could do, to be fair (tracking, fighting, being the bestest friend, intimidation, faster-than-a-bitch-on-foot...), but it's reasonable enough. Also has to be fed and taken care of, which is another slew of problems entirely... So there are some downsides on it, basically.
The justification you're bringing into it is that they already existed through someone else making them - assuming they even exist in seven years - and that your character could steal 'em or buy 'em off shady sources. It also puts your character in a more superior position because she's able to do ninja-y things that the Aperture Science Personality Core Outfitted With Electro-Gun and dog doesn't grant.
....Now, with that said, honestly? I'd say just give her the grappling gloves, we're already 20 minutes into the future. It isn't too much, like Yggdra pointed out. If it's still an issue, suggest changing it to a grappling gun, though, it's a bit more realistic (...er, for a certain value of "realism") than grappling guns. Or, hell, just a grappling hook in general.

Or, hell, just a grappling hook in general. yeah this

Here be mah character, you guys should let me know if he seems overpowered or dumb or anything. Thanks.
Spoiler: click to toggle Name:Vincent Hill Gender:Male Age:23 Theme:World So ColdBurn It AllAppearance:Spoiler: click to toggle Background:Vincent is a survivor, to the letter. When his father was killed in the crossfire of a clash between Bioptimus and the Spike Devils, he turned to scavenging and joined one of the small-time gangs subordinate to the Spike Devils to get enough cash and resources to keep himself and his mother alive. When his mother got sick, however, he couldn't get any medicine for her because of his ties to the gang--Bioptimus's border muscle almost beat him to death once for trying. His mother was dead before he managed to drag himself home. He stopped running with the gang, not for any moral reasons but because he didn't want any part of their bullshit. He's determined to survive, to scavenge every scrap he can pry out of the ground and turn over for a quick buck, until he can buy his way to something better. Though he's long abandoned the idea as sheer stupidity, every once in a while he wonders what life might be like beyond the Wall. Surely...no matter how bad it is, it can't be worse than this hellhole. Powers:- Zeroth Loop - 3 - Vincent can absorb heat energy and redirect it or manipulate it through his body. Ambient heat from the air or the sun can be absorbed, but is slower and less effective than directly touching a heated object. Currently he can absorb about 100* C worth of energy per second that he remains in contact, but larger objects and objects that don't conduct very well can reduce this rate significantly.
- Frozen Shell - By absorbing all the heat within an object, Vincent causes its molecules to slow to a near stop and any moisture or water vapor around it to condensate and freeze. Essentially, the object becomes near frozen and covered in a thin layer of ice.
- Burning Grip - By directing enough absorbed energy to his hands, Vincent can superheat them. Touching an object will, of course, transfer the heat with damaging effects.
- Blast Furnace - By releasing enough stored energy, Vincent can produce one of two effects: At lower levels, he will simply send out a focused beam of heat waves, a bit like a microwave oven. These take the form of a red, rippling beam. With enough energy, however, the air will ignite and he will create a flamethrower effect. Obviously the strength of the attack depends on how much energy he has stored up.

Name: Kaze
Gender: Male
Age: 36
Theme: Nothing yet.
Appearance: There are no old photo's of Kaze as a young human boy. The current monster doesn't even remember being human, now he looks like a mythical creature. Standing at a surprising eight feet tall he has sleek black scales, streamlined gray plates from his chin to the tip of his tail. Inch long claws, ivory colored and sharp. Red 'blades' go down his back in three rows about halfway down his tail. His wings had been mangled years ago and now acted like massive hands. He's physically fit, slightly large muscles to overpower prey but still keep some form of agility.
His face isn't even remotely human. A thick muzzle filled with white teeth of a carnivore. Blood red eyes that glowed softly. Three sets of ivory horns, large medium and small, that curve back to a muscular neck. A broad white scar runs across his muzzle, possibly from a victim?
Background: Kaze was human at one point but those memories were drowned out under his new mind. The only thing that stuck was that he was around when the comet had hit the earth and things had been less shitty. Now all he remembers clearly is that he's a predator to the normals. Striking from the shadows or at night, carrying off the weak and young while they screamed. The truly fun thing about hunting was that they just couldn't find the monster. Sometimes they ran right by him in the darkness while their family member or friend was a mangled wreck beneath him. Black on black made perfect camouflage.
He doesn't have any real goals aside from not dying. He's fairly happy in the crater, a localized hunting ground no one can escape from. All the food for him while they try to grow weeds, hunt dumb animals, and kill each other. Just more food for him while they tire themselves out, becoming easier and easier to drag screaming into the night while others look on. It's time to enjoy himself some more in a new area possibly!
Powers:
- Power of Dragons - 1 - Constantly in the form of a giant bestial creature most people relate to mythical dragons. He's capable of eating things others can't due to being rotten, polluted, or tainted in some fashion.
- Pollution Eater - Capable of eating things others can't is a great boon for this animalistic scavenger. Eating tainted foods and rotting corpses make him one of the best survivors in the crater.
- Komodo Maw - A mere brushing of teeth from his highly bacteria infested mouth can cause sickness over a period of time. The longer it sits the harder it is to get cured.
- Nature's Gifts - 1 - Nature has granted him certain aspects to ensure that he lives while others die to make sure he does.
- Natural Weapons - He has natural weapons on his body, claws on his hands and feet, and long 'blades' down his back and tail. They're fairly hard, cutting through light armors like metal blades.
- Nature's Armor - His 'skin' is comprised of thousands of tough scales and thick plates, acting as light armor for him and all the benefits of mobility.
- Strength of Beasts - 1 - His strength is increased a great deal, allowing him to put his sizable frame to good use. Currently 400lb limit.
- Shred - Using his strength he digs into whatever he's latched onto before starting to rip it apart.
- Power Shot - The typical strong punch, or kick, or smack of the tail. All his strength is focused into that one strike for extra damage but it's as obvious as sun on your face.

Sometimes they ran right by him in the darkness while their family member or friend was a mangled wreck beneath him. Black on black made perfect camouflage. A particularly strong memory he has is the effect he got from eating Astrals. He had to have eaten a dozen of the tasty morsels. His physical strength had increased without the adverse effects of the weird candies they popped. Or the expensive injections and augmentations that were available for the right price. Now his hunts have a much more pronounced purpose aside from hunger. He wanted to get stronger, become a better predator so the injuries he has received from unsuccessful hunts never happen again. Powers:- Power of Dragons - 2 - Constantly in the form of a giant bestial creature most people relate to mythical dragons. He's capable of eating things others can't due to being rotten, polluted, or tainted in some fashion.
- Devour - Hunting and eating Astrals helps make him stronger. He has to Devour a certain amount of Astrals for the effect to take hold though.

Okay so, going down the list, he has:
Eat People to Get Stronger
Venomous Bite
Claws, Fangs, Tail Blades
Hard Scale Armor
Any one of these things could be a complete powerset on their own. When I say that people have "one power, many applications," I don't mean they have completely different powers all under some sort of "theme." I mean that the one power you have can be applied in different ways--not WHAT you do but HOW you do it. Even the fact that he's a dragon man could be considered a power, as it's a mutation of the normal human form.
Also, eating people to get stronger kind of falls under the "no hulk-cycling" rule, because there's no upper limit on it. He can just continue to eat and eat and eat until he becomes invincible.
Some things I'd be willing to slide on: His dragon mutation seems mostly aesthetic, so I would be willing to let that go. However, the claws, fangs, tail blades, etc can't be "sharp as swords," they can only be the same kind of material as fingernails or bones. If you had, on your human hand, long fingernails that wouldn't break off so easily and you clawed somebody, that's the kind of damage you'd be able to do. If your teeth were all sharp instead of just the canines and incisors or whatever and you bit somebody as hard as you could, that's the kind of damage you'd be able to do. Your scales wouldn't provide any more protection than skin, they would just be textural.
If his power was just to "Eat things no matter what" as in, he is able to break down and digest any kind of substance, then I would be willing to let the Venomous Bite slide because, like you pointed out originally, if he's eating all kinds of garbage and shit then there would be tons of nasty fuckery inside his mouth.
But no eating people to get stronger.

Gotta clarify some things, aside from Devour I kinda figured that would be a bad thing XD.
The scale armor is the equivalent of wearing a leather jacket and would gradually get tougher as the rp goes on.
The blades and claws act like blades if you run bare skin or leather across them. Not a clear cut obviously since it's basically chitin blades. Any form of thickened metal will just damage the things themselves.
The changes in his body made him more reptilian than human and given the surroundings he has adapted to be able to eat some nasty things. Basically he's a komodo dragon with big hands attached to his shoulders, blades on his back that are more threat than anything, and relative super strength.

The fact that it'd get tougher over time and become more armor like still makes it pretty much a power all on its own, just like your rock man or Sin's diamond skin.
That's still sharper than fingernails and teeth.
His "super strength," shouldn't be super at all without spending one of your three points on it, but as long as you've done that I can't really argue. But none of the injections or pills would be able to give him anything else besides the one that grants toughness/durability. So if you wanna spend one of your three points or some money on that, go ahead.
