So it is a war between two countries, rather than a revolution like I was suspecting. Mordis is probably mostly inhabited by the undead or demons or something though, huh? I can't imagine many people wanting to live there, unless things used to be better and the Necromancer has only recently come to the throne and turned things to shit. I'm interested to see how the Draavoh will play a part, but so far Elves and Dragons and their offspring are the only races mentioned. Could we get some backstory on the others? Specifically: Did any of them, perhaps the humans or the cat people, come from other lands originally and colonize, settle, or integrate into this continent's society? Did any of them, especially the humans, "devolve" or descend from the Elves? I think you might've mentioned dwarves before but I'm not sure. They playing a part? So far this is looking great, really looking forward to it! |

Mm... So the Draahvoh are Dragon/Elf things merged together, right? I know it might not be taken literally, but if there were only enough dragons to be counted on one hand (So 5 at the most?), then that means those five were the only ones? I could understand them gaining power and influence, but when you say they "grew," does that mean there were suddenly more than the 5? Even with 5, that'd still be close to extinction, so... How few are "the few that remained"? How many were there at their peak power? If they're supposed to be war machines, I can see 5 taking on whole armies. I guess maybe they could have kids and get more Draahvoh that way, but... Well, just trying to figure it out. |

I think the implication was that the Elves used their magic to interbreed with the dragons and preserve their power and bloodline. If we go by a 1:1 ratio, that means five elves for five dragons. If they merged into one being it's still five, but if the merged beings were instead born from the union, that makes at least ten, five dragons and five Draavoh. Assuming that the Draavoh were able to breed with Elves without diluting their dragon blood because of magical shenanigans, that should leave enough genetic diversity (especially if some of them were polygamous) that they could probably become at least clan sized before they started suffering any inbreeding. If their genes can't be diluted at all and their children are always Draavoh (that is, a Draavoh parent can never have a genetic Elf child) they probably wouldn't need to resort to inbreeding at all ever. This, of course, raises the problem of the superior Draavoh genes possibly assimilating the Elves entirely, as until the Draavoh spread out enough to stop being immediate relatives of each other it requires one elf per pairing, and if no elves are ever born from such a union eventually you have elves no longer producing other elves. But in the end

Draahvoh are what came of Elven and Dragon union; that's the race that Ferraah belongs to. The remaining Dragon's gave up their lives in order to give the Elven magic that extra "oomph" it needed in order to create the Draahvoh. They're a super-race essentially. All of the Dragon and Elven strengths, none of their weaknesses, hence why some refer to them as Gods. That cat people keep to themselves, including their lore. They're not seem often so people don't know much about them. More often than not, they get mistaken for children when they are out and about so someone who's seen one might not even know it. Humans are just plain old humans. They lead the alliance against the Draahvoh but beyond that, they're pretty typical. Dwarves are much like the cat people and don't leave their tunnels much. There are some traders amongst them and for the most part, they're the only ones who go up to the surface. |

Are there going to be passive abilities? Or toggle abilities that just take one solid chunk out of your energy pool? |

There can be passive stuff. Things like "can see in darkness" and "immune to poison" and stuff like that is fine. Obviously, some of it will have to come after you've got some levels under your belt. |

Eduardo's arrows have gotten rusty and he's out of ammo for his gun as well. And Andromeda's sword must have gotten blunt too. Time to send them both to the Blacksmith then! In all seriousness though, I'm wondering how returning characters will interact. I don't know if our characters will have met up prior to the start of this RP although I assume that will be unlikely. Therefore, I will say that the returning characters who aren't my characters, by the end of VoTM, they would know that Andromeda x Eduardo was a thing. However, they most likely wouldn't know that by the start of VoC that the two have broken up. |

How balanced do moves need to be? Obviously at the beginning, no matter how many drawbacks you give the spell/technique it'd probably be overpowered to have some huge fireball or something, but is their balance just determined by how powerful they/the character are (for instance, my level one character and a level 10 character might have the same move, but it's exponentially more powerful for level 10) or is it determined by how "fair" it is, so that if you have a move that hits really hard, it has to leave you open for a turn or require a charge period or something like that? |

Sounds as though things will be getting interesting relatively quick as far as the battles are concerned. I do have a question about battlefield wide battles and our impact- have you considered having the PCs be put into a singular force organized by the Queen for say special operations? As our storyline continues, we would go from being just a handful of warriors who are relatively powerful and unique BUT have no experience as a combat organization and have us eventually gain access to additional NPC soldiers that any RPer could command, resources etc? It might make the whole 'us altering the entire battlefield' and 'changing the whole war' effort thing be a little more likely. Plus it would let you give us orders without having to hold our hands as an 'official' part of the war effort. Perhaps we might be under the command of one of the major NPCs, like the Princess or something. She tells us what to do but isn't our direct commander as in, she doesn't go into the field and tell us what to do unless you particularly want her to. |

For the most part, you guys are relatively good at keeping balance yourselves. Abilities will be weaker at the start and as they level up, improve. So if you want to shoot a great big giant flaming meteor, it'll have to start as a little fireball. Maybe at rank 2 there'll be two fireballs. Then rank 3 has them fuse into one larger one, so on and so forth. Everyone will start out as a peon, for the most part. Prove yourself and get promoted and rewarded. Eventually some might be in control of their own battalion. |

oh man now i'm kinda tempted to make a Ciaphas Cain kind of character who's a complete coward but through unbelievable amounts of sheer luck somehow manages to get the credit for a bunch of major victories and ends up promoted to a high rank and given even more dangerous missions, and he has to keep up the facade cause he's afraid of being hanged as a deserter/traitor. |
