The Fantasy of the Grand Grimoire

It's no secret that this community has always favoured fantasy in its creative process, usually we end up roleplaying adventurers through great battles, all to protect a greater good or to destroy a terrible evil, both with greatly fantastic characteristics.

The tropes we have used are many; there are times in which we are the legendary guardians of the peace and prosperity of the land, some others in which we are random foot soldiers recruited to the cause by the people who represent what we are trying to protect, and some others in which we are just mercenaries doing's the world's wetwork with no greater good or just cause in mind (yet we end eventually saving the world somehow) - our enemies have been everything from sealed dark lords, great men who once served the light but which then turned into masters of the darkness themselves after traumatizing events, great warlords and conquerors who sought to dominate their opponents for no reason other than the thrill of standing above them all as their master, and also the ocassional bandits or highwaymen which probably only wanted to feed themselves (or their poor families) yet we always end up slaughtering them with great violence.

The world we live in is more often then not, some country apparently stuck in a time period remiscent to our dark ages, with some notable differences - for example, the church and religion in general tends to not feature in our stories, and women usually have the same rights as everyone else. Of course, the greatest difference, even more important than the existance of multiple sapient races (all mysteriously with similar societal structures to those of humans), is the presense of magic; it is so common that everyone, even swordsmen or monks, have access to some sort of spell - lacking those immediately makes one outclassed, and it is not viable to not have some kind of spell or the equivalent. Ironically, despite being so important, magic itself hardly features in the narrative, it just exists there, sometimes its explained and harnessed as a fuel and source of energy, but only ocassionally.

But what if instead of rejecting the tropes to create a more 'realistic' world, we embraced them completely to create a more 'fantastical' one? And if we took them to their most logical conclusion, we could forge the greatest story - the highest fantasy of them all, actually.

That is what this is all about, (literally) immersing ourselves in a world of fantasy, in which things that don't make sense in our world happen, where there are heroes and villains of every kind interacting with each other all the time, in which different races superficially similar to our own populate the land and everyone can in their own way wield that fantastical power known as magic...

Say, we all start as different versions of ourselves, or someone else we might or might not know. We all live in this real world of ours, perhaps we know each other, and we happen to find ourselves in this specific area - a school, a town, a particular district in the big city. Then we come across this fantastical item, which couldn't possibly exist - capable of turning our wildest dreams into reality.

It's the Gran Grimoire, this book that when opened, literally sucks its readers to a different world, one composed of the reader's most amazing fantasies; perhaps the greatest feature of this artifact is that this world is not merely a dream, and that while it might be made of dreams, it's as real as our own (who's to say ours isn't made of someone's dreams either).

In the Fantasy of the Grand Grimoire, one can be anything: a legendary knight of the land, a mighty warrior of the crown, a wandering swordsman in search of freedom, an ancient dark lord, a powerful necromancer, the ruler from a nearby country come to conquer with his men, maybe a simple man with no greater good/evil or just cause in mind, etc. etc. Each of them with different sets of strengths and weakneses, with different techniques and abilities, they all harnes the energy known as magic in their own particular manner.

But, the Fantasy of the Gran Grimoire was created out of the dreams of everyone. So send your ideas forward! An inclusive world! Woo, that's rad!

You think the Octoballs should have a kingdom somewhere in the land? So be it!

Should the land be under siege by demons come from another world? That sounds great!

Or maybe the land is at war, against itself, over who should succeed to the throne? Why not both? The Fantasy of the Gran Grimoire is yours, you can be the rightful king yourself for all I care (in which case, better crush those bothersome pretenders ASAP)!

But wait, what if a necromancer was raising zombies en masse in the countryside, all while the demons invade, the country is torn apart, and the octoballs are just there derping around? See, we already got ourselves a mess... which your characters can resolve (or worsen)!

What do you say everyone? Who wants to involve themselves in The Fantasy of the Grand Grimoire?

Slow and steady...
Octy, as fantastic as your RP ideas tend to sound, I find that I personally can't commit to them since your visits are so random and sporadic that you presence in order to run an RP is unreliable. D:

GILGAMESH FAN KING
Based on what I could think up I think this could get out of hand.
Arch-Necromancer of the Gilgamesh Army- “I am who I am. The pain of others, I do not feel. The sorrow of others does not touch me. Death feeds me. Death pleases me. I am the essence I consume. You fools will become corpses here, because I wish it to be.”

Curse: Cursed with hourglass eyes that show how life slowly dies before him
Wields: Living sword Ragnarok and the Staff of Magius
Signature move: God's End
Overlimit: Ultimate Spellchain(Flare, Holy, Meteor, Grand Cross, Almagest, Dimension Zero, Big Bang)
Transformation: Turns into a great black dragon

I have a plan to delegate responsabilities. I mentioned some other time, but basically by having different people take care of different questlines or plots in separate threads.

I like the idea. It could turn out chaotic, but it'd be a FUN chaotic.

Octy, could I be some sorta technology whiz who somehow showed up in the time period of the RP?
