The word "miracle" comes from an old Latin word, miracalum literally meaning "object of wonder". Today, the word "miracle" is used to describe acts of what seems to be divine intervention; a stroke of luck that seems so implausible, so unlikely, that the event would not have occurred without the interference of a God. But for every young, kind, boy, who managed to dodge that speeding car on his neighbourhood street, there was another who was a girl who was not so lucky. So why? Why do people have to die? Why does God not grant miracles to all who have chosen Him? Why do as many who would oppose Him feel honoured by these miracles, while those who would better the world in His name die forgotten? For every Muammar Gaddafi or Joseph Stalin who fell to a God's intervention, so too was there a Gandhi or Martin Luther King that passed away before they could continue their work. For every John Paul II to survive and expand a church's teachings, so too would an Adolf Hitler survive to end one. But why? Why would God allow this? From the beginning of time, a game of chess has been unfolding. Now the game has truly begun. The Gods have Chosen their champions. They have imbued their champions with their strength, promises of Glory, and the Universe, when they come to achieve victory. All that has come to pass since the birth of mankind is nothing compared to the God's true powers. And they are coming. They are getting ready to fight. Will the world be brought to its knees? Or will it be born again in a new light? I am one of God's chosen. And soon, soon, you will see my strength. Miracle will be a character based fantasy set within the streets of a modern day city, and stretching beyond. This is an idea I've been mulling around my head for the past week or so, and since busy, probably won't be able to start for a while. Posting it now, though, to see if it's worth developing further ideas for. In a blend of history with theology, science with philosophy, Miracle will be a battle between God's Chosen and their allies here on Earth. |

Modern day earth, pretty much. Unsure if I'll change religions around to minimise potential offence, but yeah, virtually the real world. |

This is kinda off topic, but Samurai Jack worked a lot of different religions together. Basically the end result was all religions existing but their afterlife(s) were separated. I think the main Gods/Deitys from the major religions were all seen battling Aku together. Edit: That was...random of me. Edited by oniskieth, May 19, 2013, 3:25 am.

Lord of the Octoroks, all hail!

Can I chose which God can I be a Champion of? It would be interesting a character was chosen as the champion of say, Quetzalcoatl, while himself being a Christian. |

Best to sleep on it.

This sounds like Dresden. Also like that one idea where you had your fantasy characters come to life IRL as a RP. |
