The Red Wings Experience At this point, most of us know the name. We know the legends and stories, the great battles, the legendary rise and fall. Some of you might know the leaders like the pyromancer king, the fisher prince, the eternal child with the demonic soul, the bartender bruiser, the tinkering rival, the battlemaiden waitress, the lusty bird brained summoner and the stone titan of war. We also know their comrades, the male heir from the sands, the women of desert, the soldiers of Calatia, the Hyrulean Alliance, the unified rebel forces and all within. Moreso most of us remember their rivals and enemies too, the lightning swordsman, the hot-tempered fist fighter, the princess loving white knight, the black raiders and that isn’t even counting the various generals they crossed. In many of our tales, this group of ever-developing military order has overtaken the plot and changed it inherently and utterly to the point where the plot was eternally changed by their actions and motivations. However, never once have they had their own RP. With the year ending and very little to do, I wondered if it would be fun to rectify that. What if we created an entire storyline based on the best and worst aspects of the Red Wings stories and created a story from it? We could start with the “creators” of the Red Wing order back in their roots, as mere guards protecting a town until a great cataclysm occurred that urged them into action… like perhaps a group of mysterious, ultra destructive vigilantes deciding to liberate our Princess and the Red Wings rushing to the town’s defense? With each battle, each mission they come closer to their goals of not only reclaiming their lost prize but also becoming a unified unit and obtaining the personal dreams of the various members of this ragtag group of soldiers. The RW would eventually gain their birthright… the ever growing, ever changing warship, the Ragnarok, as a necessary tool in their chase after their lost prize. In time they would grow and change of course…. They might become the champions of the realm, rising up the ranks of the military and becoming mighty holy warriors who rally to the cause of a righteous cause championed by the nobility and led by their Princess. Perhaps they would become a rebellious force of freedom fighters, struggling desperately against a tyrannical Prince after spending far too much time trying to redeem his acts and person against foes with no care for the law but fundamentally wanting the same thing. Maybe they might become divorced from their former masters and become a mercenary army, intending to settle and create their own kingdom after invading an enemy’s country by sky and remaking it in their own ideals. The Red Wings have been the great heroes of their stories, as noble soldiers who sought to serve country, countrymen and King. They have been anti-heroes who chose to stay within a corrupt system and change it from within and betrayers who cut ties with former comrades in order to obtain their desires. The Red Wings have even been villains who butchered entire towns, committed horrible genocides and stood beside the greatest of evils in order to obtain what they wanted. Nevertheless, at their core the Red Wings were always one thing… a fellowship. No matter their goals, no matter their purpose, the Red Wings always accepted anyone willing to join their ranks and pledge their loyalties. The red banner was the opportunity to work with others whom you might not in order situations, to have allies and a sense of acceptance and place in these strange worlds that no one else could offer. No matter the road taken, the challenges faced, their allies and enemies… it was never really about them. While so many of these memorable events might have been born from the world(s) that they found themselves, the true motivating force was never the plot but the characters themselves. It is the actions, motivations, hopes, dreams, rivalries, backgrounds, friendships and personal demons of these characters that allowed the Red Wings to be who they are. So that is why I ask this of you now… who would be interested in joining an adventure that borrows from so many sources, but belongs to no one but those who input their own creative energies into it? I ask for leniency from our former authors whose plots have influenced these tales. Do not find yourselves annoyed by my hope to borrow from your thoughts but as a tribute to the things we all enjoyed so much and I hope to see you join us in our tale as well, offering up your former creations, new ones or even your own iconic characters back into the story. If anyone is interested in joining me on this little stroll down a nostalgia peppered road in hopes of seeing where it might lead, I ask you to join. If you want to bring back an iconic character or two, I implore you to do so. If you were an old member, feel free to rejoin. A newcomer to these tales, then feel free to toss in your hat and enjoy these stories reborn in a new light! What do you say everyone? Who wants to have the full Red Wings’ Experience? |

The Sheet! Name: Gender: Age: Race/Ethnicity: Magical Affinity: One overall affinity, although you can use any element/style spell if it isn’t overpowered. Appearance: Be descriptive as you want, but when joining the Red Wings you will be offered a “basic” version of the outfit based on what you function as such as a red cape for magic users, red plate armor for a knight, leather armor with red symbols on it for a rouge etc. You can use any/all the parts of this basic outfit that you want in your appearance, along with any “basic” equipment you might find in an armory. Overtime new items might be added for the characters to use based on some “historic” items from the various stories, so feel free to stop by occasionally and upgrade your gear to remain stylish! Equipment: What you put here is up to you, but like above, don’t feel like you “need” unique equipment or things that wouldn’t make sense. You will be joining our merry little military band and will be armed then and you can always get things by turning in your RW tokens! Techniques Since we are going off of our nostalgia here, I am going to stick with the idea of ranks. They will function a lot more like standard “level ups” than previously stories though. They are awarded as an entire “unit” or even the entire “army” depending on what they do, so you should expect to be about equal to each other in most situations. You can have up to 4 ranks starting the RP, meaning either 4 basic abilities (like making a fireball, creating a pair of stone gauntlets etc) or up to one extremely good ability (like say a super mode or summoning a mini boss), your choice entirely. I would ask that you remember that this is the very beginning though and we will be growing often so don’t worry too much alright? Also lastly, remember that our foes will be stronger than us (as always) so alone a single character will always lose… but together we can overcome ANY odds, even if that means we have to cheat to do so alright? Example: 1. Name of Move: Element of Move: Rank 1+: Description Inventory: RW Tokens: This is rather important one for everyone. For working and going on missions, tasks etc you will be awarded these tokens… usually one or two at a time. You can redeem them for some pretty cool stuff, like ancient trinkets like magispheres, out of place artifacts like a hammer that weighs a megaton or a dragoon’s boots that let you soar through the air or a loft bird! Maybe even your own ship, dragon, followers etc if you want. You never know. Everything else is up to you. Background: Tell us about who this character is and what led them up to this point. Be as detailed or mysterious as you want, but do decide what you want to do because we will want to know. Dark and mysterious is fine, as long as there is something worthwhile underneath the exterior! |

I can't really say I'm interested in this for a couple of reasons. A) Nostalgia prevents us from moving forward and further developing. Instead of trying to relive something that was only great in the first place because we weren't skilled enough to know better, let's break away and continue to push forward, learning from the past but no longer repeating it. B) Nothing so far makes me think this will have anything interesting as far as storylines go. C) There are other RPs I'd rather play than this, and we can only support so many at a time. I don't think much can stop ToS considering the steam it has behind it right now, but the RPs I am currently holding my hopes out for are BO's Lost Kingdom, which he says is ready but that he lacks inspiration, and Onis's unnamed RP. I would think that 3 RPs at once would be the maximum our playerbase could support, and even then only if we pace ourselves correctly. |

@Onime: That's kinda disappointing. I was really hoping to have Tai appear as an NPC enemy for the Red Wings to take on as we develop some of our former stories (in particular the personal ones) into something new and unique that we didn't get to do in other RPs. But to each his own and if you do end up feeling the desire to go throw down with your hot blooded fist fighter, we'll be absolutely thrilled to have you around for a couple of hours. |

Name: Tristan Gender: Male Age: 28 Race/Ethnicity: Human/Caucasian Magical Affinity: Fire Appearance: Hidden beneath his bandana ninety percent of the time is a well kept and trimmed mop of brown hair. His rather expressive eyebrows are a little on the bushy side and angled just right to give him a grumpy look. Nestled beneath the eyebrows are...his eyes! Both are a dull gray color, but within each iris are flecks of gold. Between his eyes is his nose, it's relatively normal just a bit on the blocky side. The rest of his face is fairly straight, not a lot of definition aside from a wide jaw, broad chin, and a five o'clock shadow.Moving on down we get to his body. Which is on the heavy side when it comes to muscle, he's no body builder but he puts most men to shame when it comes to size. His skin is lightly tanned and riddled with scars that have silvered with age. He also has two tattoo's on his arms, specifically his biceps. One is of the Red Wings insignia, indicating that he's a part of that group, the other his a snarling dragon head that signifies a group he had been with in the past. Aside from all that he's also a particularly hair guy, earning him the nickname 'Bear' from the more jovial members from both groups. Covering his head is a simple blood red bandana with the insignia for the Red Wings on it. Protecting his torso are three layers or various armors, the first layer just being padded clothing (mainly to protect his skin from the chain), the second layer is an iron chain shirt, the final layer is a leather breastplate with the Red Wings insignia blazoned on the left pectoral. Protecting his arms, which are mostly bare aside from the short chain sleeves, are a pair of steel vambraces on his forearms. Possibly the most expensive piece of armor he has. Going down to his abdomen and waist he has a gladiators belt, a wide leather belt with three buckles going up. Around his waist is the typical roman War Skirt, just a belt with dangling soft leather straps that go to the knees. Covering his legs are a pair of canvas pants, durable and water resistant not to mention good with weak projectiles. Last are a pair of fur-lined leather boots, the leather is double thick for a longer lasting wear. The fur is just to keep his feet warm in winter. Equipment: Armor

Inventory:
Background: Tristan grew up in the slummy area of Castle Town in Hyrule, pickpocketing to help his mother out so they could put food on the table. It was unfortunate that he had such a large family, three brothers and two sisters. But they were all younger so he made sure they stayed home and safe. Things stayed like this for a while until he hit his teen years, once that happened he went out and joined a gang to get more of what his family needed. Food, money, medicines for some of the weaker kids. This continued for a while until he moved on once more to a bigger crime, he joined a band of thieves that hit caravans and stole everything they could get their hands on. The group of bandits were called the Black Dragoon's, he figured someone made a mistake with the name but didn't say anything. He continued on his criminal spree until he was twenty, pillaging what he could to continue helping his family. It took the guards a while to finally track him down, since he did return to Castle Town to give things to his family, and they tossed him in jail for four years. He did his time peacefully, which was why he got out so quick, and decided to clean himself up. No more stealing and pillaging, even though that was rather difficult to do, and go on the straight and narrow. He joined up with the guards, starting out as the typical grunt who did all the crap work while the higher ups got to get fat in a chair. He slowly moved up in the ranks, being watched the entire time because of his past. Although he does sympathize with the thieves, gangs, and bandits, he did live their life for a very long time. Name: Jake Sex: Male Age: 20 Race: Hylian Magical Affinity: Fire Appearance: Jake is an average looking man with a bulky build befitting a soldier. He is about 5'10 and weighs around 240lbs, most of which being muscle although he has a small layer of fat. Like most soldiers, he wears his hair short although it looks good with the black hair. His eyes are dark brown and most of the time he looks quite focused on whatever is at hand. When in his usual guard uniform he wears: the top of a red iron suit of armor including the cuirass and shoulder pads. Underneath is a layer of light chainmail with a red long sleeve shirt to keep the metal from grading on his skin. He wears a set of red iron gauntlets as well. His lower half is protected only by the chainmail (with a pair of red pants) up to his knees, which are guarded by red iron greaves, which link into a pair of red iron boots. On the guard's back is a short sword and an iron shield overtop it. Although slightly cumbersome (about 40lbs), this gear offers considerable protection from physical attacks along with good protection against the cold. Equipment: Iron Short Sword Iron Shield Red Iron Chest Plate and Shoulder Pads Red Iron Gauntlets and Greaves Chainmail Pants Red Iron Boots Red Undershirt Red Pants Techniques 1. Fiery Passion: Enchantment Fire: Rank 1: This enchantment grants Jake a resistance to fire allowing him to pass through flames without injury and be resistant to heat. This ability creases a visible ‘fiery’ aura that envelopes Jake creating a fiery mantle around his neck and back that resembles flames but produces no heat. However, if he is dosed with water resulting in this enchantment being forcibly removed. This effect is sustained until dosed or dispelled. 2. Salamander’s Claw: Enchantment Fire: Rank 1: This move creates a visible flame surrounding Jake’s blade. With each slash and thrust, flames arc and spray toward enemies inflicting burns even with near misses. This ability increases the range of his attacks and is considered a fire elemental attack. However, if the sword becomes wet or the user is dosed with water this enchantment is forcibly removed. This effect is sustained until dosed or dispelled. 3. Meteor Strike: Fire: Rank 1: This fire based attack which gathers the radiant heat or flames within the area to a single point and then when that spot is struck by a weapon it creates a blast of energy and heat toward the directed target equal to that of a bomb. The heat from the Fiery Passion or Salamander’s Claw can be used to instantly increase the power of this technique to equal to that of a large bomb (50% increase). While Meteor Strike can usually be used instantly in most environments (basically anywhere above 60 degrees outside) it may be charged longer for a greater result resulting in up to 100% increased damage (equal to a powder keg) after 4 turns. 4. Earthen Pride: Enchantment Earth: Rank 1: This enchantment increases Jake’s resistance to physical attacks from the groin down and makes most knockdown attacks ineffective This ability is marked by a thick layer of earth forming up around lower half creating earthen boots and greaves. While this increases his resistance against low blows, his speed is slightly reduced (20%). This effect is sustained and can only be removed if contact is broken between Jake and the ground below. Inventory RW Tokens: 0 Wallet: 200 Barracks Key Forging Hammer Sharpening Stone Background Jake was born in a small house on the south side of Castle Town. His father was one of the town blacksmiths after being injured as an adventurer. Jake’s mother had become a server after marrying Jake’s father, resulting in her leaving their home in Ordon where her family lived. Although they were poor, at least the two were happy. Then two years later Aimee was born first, greatly enjoyed her life with mother and father. Jake was born a year later. His childhood was nice enough for what it was. Aimee learned the basics of how to use a spear from their father and the basics of elemental spells, although mostly it was just used to make life easier instead of how it would later be used as a weapon in Jake’s career. At 12 or so, Jake joined one of Castle Town’s local gangs. He quickly rose through the ranks due to his brutality (he once beat a kid senseless, grabbed his shoulders while pushing the brat to the ground using his legs. Both joints were ripped out of place and the boy never did come back around.) However at 14 something changed, life finally came back to catch Jake. Although the guards and most of the town had known Jake was a trouble maker, as a teen he had always to keep it from his parents and sister but in the end that was impossible. Eventually Jake grew up and started down a different path. After spending a lifetime seeing the guards, Jake finally saw that they had POWER and RESPECT. At 15, Jake joined the Hylian academy. There, things were simple. Ability decided the pecking order… whoever was the strongest was made leader for exercises, whoever could fight the best was the highest rank sparring partner. Jake quickly rose through the ranks as a leader, a fighter and was even pretty good student, learning the basics of literacy and writing with ease. At 18 Jake graduated at the top of the class that year. He had thrived in this meritocracy but when it came time to be assigned, everything changed. Even though he was one of the top 5% of graduates, Jake was assigned a position as a guard, a lowly guard in one of the worst parts of Castle Town. Meanwhile mid ranked noble whelps were made knights, officers and one of the ‘barely passed’ brats was made Jake’s commanding officer in the guards. Some of the most ambitious of those with the ability to succeed, the experience to lead or the drive to fight for what they want were forced down into these lowly positions all because of the circumstances of their pasts, what they looked like or worst yet because of the fact they were not born noble. Truth be told, many of these people probably wouldn’t even be allowed into the guards or any formal order without a little help from someone in the inside, but Jake knew one thing that very few others could… that these people, these outcasts could be made strong… and that together they could be strong enough to do just about anything… Edited by NTNP, December 28, 2012, 11:01 pm.

You'll see this isn't finished yet. Smack my hand when you see something wrong. Name: King Nasir "Will" of the Desert Gender: Male Age: 18 Race/Ethnicity: Gerudo Magical Affinity: Spirit Appearance: Nasir Equipment: Weapon Armor Clothing Techniques 1. Sand Storm: Earth: Rank 1: Generates a storm of sand or dust that affects a small area before Nasir. 2. Healing Hands: Light: Rank 1: By placing his hands on an open wound Nasir is able to seal the wound shut. The healing process does not replenish blood loss, repair bones, or remove any poison. 3. Extreme Heat: Fire: Rank 1: Blasts the target with ancient gerudo magic. The afflicted will feel a noteworthy increase in the temperature of their body, clothing, and what ever they may be holding. The heat is enough to cause sweating. 4. Sheer Cold: Water: Rank 1: Blasts the target with ancient gerudo magic. The afflicted will feel a noteworthy decrease in the temperature of their body, clothing, and what ever they may be holding. The cold is enough to cause shivering. Inventory: RW Tokens: 0 Misc Background: For most of Nasir's early childhood the gerudo was raised by his father, a humble farmer, who named his bastard son "William," but called him "Will." The two ran a small farm in the Ordonian country side, and lived just a short walk outside of Ordon. As Will slowly matured he became aware that his physical features were different then his fathers and the citizens of Ordon. Like many of the Ordonians, his ears were round, but unlike his community his skin tanned a darker shade. Along with that his hair was a bizarre red, and his eyes were an owl-like yellow. It was only a matter of time before he learned that these were Gerudo characteristics. Not long after Will turned 14 he and his father were visited by a group of red-haired women, Gerudo Thieves. These women revealed themselves to be relatives of Will, and requested that he accompany them to the desert. Not wanting to cause trouble, the aspiring farmer agreed to accompany them, much to his father's displeasure. After a long march the male gerudo arrived in a small Gerudo Village. In the village an overwhelming amount of information was revealed, and despite how farfetched it sounded, Will believed his family. He was told he was on a short list, and that the other men on the list would stop at nothing to have his head. Gerudo only gave birth to women, usually, but every 100 years a single member of each of the varying Gerudo clans would give birth to a male. The clans would then wage war to decide which of the men would rise to be king, and now was the time of war. Accepting his fate Will, now given the Gerudo name "Nasir" rose up to lead his clan to glory. The war was a bloody campaign that lasted nearly 2 years. Nasir learned much during the conflict, and eventually was capable of leading his army into combat. Thanks to his clan's strength and his newfound leadership Nasir was able to defeat the other men and claim the Gerudo's throne. However as he looked over his newfound empire he frowned. The Gerudo's lifestyle produced two types of people: Thieves and Warriors. A country could only function that way by conquering all, and when that was finished there wouldn't be nothing left to sustain them. The empire would surely crumble...but the people of Hyrule don't need to constantly war. They have trades and an economy. If their ways could be brought to the desert then there would be no need for war, but someone would have to learn their ways. Nasir knew how to farm, but aside from that he learned little from his time with his father. He would have to walk amongst the people of Hyrule again, learn their ways, and bring them home without anyone knowing who he was. This is why Nasir once again became Will and returned to Hyrule. If I were to play as someone besides Tai, I can't think of any characters who would willingly join a group as bigoted as the Red Wings have always been. And if I played as Tai himself I don't think I'd enjoy him near as much as I used to because he just wasn't that good of a character. If I were to fix all the mistakes and make a "new" Tai, he wouldn't be Tai anymore and that would defeat the entire point of this nostalgia boner anyway. |

@Onime: I'm not sure bigoted is the right word. Self righteous and petty maybe, but rarely bigoted. But as far as the rest of the post goes, that's your choice. This is just something we can do for fun to enjoy our past in a new way. Don't get me wrong, a new "Tai" would be a wonderful addition, but its your choice entirely. @Rory: It's alright. If you do want in though, feel free. It should be kinda fun. @Oni: I had a Nasir once, he ended up being revealed as Nasagaru, the trickster god in like the 2nd CoH. It was really fun having my own diety of chaos. Otherwise the newly made Will seems like a fine addition. @Et Al: So I am wondering about how we would like to start off this little story. To me, it seems like the most obvious option would be to focus on recruitment. A few people may start in the guard (like Jake and Tristan thus far) but the rest will likely want in for their own reasons. So what if we started by focusing on that plot point? Maybe having someone in jail, someone in need of assistance... or for that matter, having the character in question be the cause of a problem that the guards have to deal with. It would be a nice change of pace to have the beginning be a rather mundane "day in the life" that causes the group to band together rather than some significant external stimulus doing it for once. |

@Lotus: It would be wonderful to have antagonistic forces in the plot as well, either as NPCs or as playable characters. Both, any or all would be welcome additions. @BO: That was unquestionably what happened in the end of CoH2 with them, although given their villain status it did work out pretty well for them. Of course, next time around they were pirates rebelling against the system in a bloody sea war. Next time they stayed to their starscream antics with Yannis. Really they have done a lot over time... But with that being said, I'd love to have you involved with this project BO. It just wouldn't be the same without you, Mythos or potentially even a royal brat or general to work with. |

It will be a lot more sandboxy than before, especially since we all have an idea about what we want to do with the story since we've played through most of the ones involving the RW together anyways. It'll start as it always has, small with the characters meeting in castle town and slowly becoming intertwined. Then maybe we might learn a little about a princess, an abduction plot and a promotion for the players with them becoming the official "Red Wings." As far as the overreaching plot, who knows. I'm sure that with all these unique and driven characters, the plots from yesteryear being reimagined and interwoven and all the new things that will appear that we'll have a pretty fun story. But if you guys would like I could write up a full 'introduction to the plot' synopsis like I usually do and ask people for what stories they would like to include. |

For one, every time I see Red Wings, I think of Final Fantasy IV and Detroit >_> For two, I was wondering, what races are there and can you make your own race? Also, do some of the races have special racial abilities or traits, like say some race has naturally hard skin, which makes em have naturally good defensive capabilities, also making it a racial trait, while say another race has the power to levitate shit with their mind? Which would be a racial ability. Not to say I'd go with these specific examples, I was just wondering |

Hmm, the roots of this organization was historically in BO's Chronicles of Hyrule, which took place in the Legend of Zeldaverse. With that being said, various types of humans along with creatures like the goron (golemsxdwarfs), zora (sea humanoids), rito (avian humanoids), deku (plant humanoids) etc have appeared with some frequency. Due to this being a bit more laxed as far as the limitations go though, I would more than likely allow for any race given a little exposition. Of course, we might have to make it where "basic racial abilities" if they are overpowered might be taken out of the initial/current ranks. Like for example, Gorons have high defense and thus we might require a basic passive of "Goron Skin = rank 2, skin equal to stone armor but sinks like a stone" or "rito, flight = rank 2. Wings allow for self sustained flight." You know something like that. |

I was gonna ask in you the box, but I thought you left, so I'm just leaving it here. I was thinking about using an old character I had from a LoZ based RP in the past. The character was a perverted drunkard who relied on Fire magic and highly combustible alcohol to create various types of explosions. I was wondering if I could use the same character in this RP? |

Name: Russell "Of the Rebellion" Gender: Male Age: 17 Race/Ethnicity: Human Magical Affinity: Wind Appearance: ![]() Russell is 6'4'' and weighs in at an impressive 197 pounds. The boy's strong and defined muscles are that befitting of a farm hand. Wrestling bulls whips a guy in shape, you know? He sports a rather fancy looking jacket that drops down to his knees, but for one reason or the other he refuses to button the coat up from the waist down, causing the lower half to flap around carelessly. Tied around his chest is a leather harness that strap two sturdy shoulder-plates to his, well, shoulders. Additionally, this leather Harness is followed by a belt around the waist with a leather strap to hold his swords in place--no pesky sheathes attached. His legs are covered with fine-looking, sort of loose white linen pants. Russell sports a light-weight chest-plate under his jacket made out of hardened leather and iron studs. His hands are covered with high-quality leather gloves and his feet are protected with common leather boots. The swordsman has jet-black hair and emerald green eyes. Equipment: Head: N/A Chest: Hardened Leather Vest Shoulders: Iron Spaulders Waist: Leather Belt Legs: Linen Pants Feet: Leather Boots Wrist: Steel Bracers Hands: Leather Gloves Main-Hand: Short-Sword(Steel) Off-Hand: Short-Sword(Steel) Sub-Weapon War-hammer(Steel/one-handed) Techniques: 1. Torrent:Wind: Rank 1: Empowers a weapon with Wind, causing the weapon to gain huge bursts of speed mid-swing and double the impact they have on a target. With this, weapons are easily capable of cleaving things in two. 2. Agility:Wind: Rank 1: Imbues the caster with the grace of wind, causing him or her to gain a lift of wind when they move--increasing over-all speed. 3. Air-Cutter:Wind: Rank 2: Sends a high-speed air of wave at a target, either cutting them or at the very least causing them to loose balance. Inventory: Fine Coat: A very well-made coat, designed to keep the wearer warm in very cold temperatures. The insides are lined with rabbit fur, but this is unseen to the naked eye as a layer of ever so comfortable silk is layered over this furry interior. On the outside of this very nice jacket, there are buttoned-pockets on either side of the chest as well as in the middle, and bottom of the item. At the waist, there are two open pockets befitting for quick access. This jacket has collar that is usually popped up. It is red an color, and drops down to the knees. Satchels: Lining the belt Russell wears, there are several tiny satchels for storing small items or even small portions of food and water. One of these larger satchels carry a flint-and-steel set, along with tiny sticks for kindling. Background: Spoiler: click to toggle

Name: Lloyd Conley Gender: Male Age: 23 Race/Ethnicity: Human/Caucasian Magical Affinity: Neutral (Chromatimancy) Chromatimancy Appearance: Lloyd has a lanky appearance, taller than others and by the size of his waist, it looks like he forgets to eat sometimes. He has blond hair that falls to about his eyes. His eyes are brown... most of the time. Its strange to him but when he casts magic of a certain color, his eyes change to that color. He attributes it to some shoddy Green magic someone must have used on him when he was asleep as a prank. His appearance clothes-wise is pretty basic. He wears standard the Red Wings Magi cape along with robes that are a mix of grey, white, and brown in color. Across his shoulder is a blue chord signifying how he is a mage of blue. Equipment: Dagger Techniques: 1. Mind Scry: Blue: Rank 2: Lloyd looks into the mind of another person for a general memory of the person (ie. looking for what a person fears/likes) 2. Silent Image: Blue: Rank 1: Lloyd makes an illusion of an object. It can move around but may produce flaws that make people see that it is fake (like clipping through walls or the floor) Can't make noise unless assisted by another spell. 3. Cancel: Blue: Rank 1: Lloyd counters a spell cast by another person or magical being that is of the same rank or lower Inventory: Book of Chromatimancy RW Tokens: -- Background: To look at the story of Lloyd Conley, one must first look at the brief life of another mage who's name was Madoc Sadin. Madoc was a prodigious Chromatimancer who began as a mage of White. He progressed quickly and once he mastered the ways of White, he moved on to Green. He was known for being helpful although not very notable to others so far as he was quite defensive in his nature, some saying he was even wasting his gift on protective magics when he could be using it to learn more destructive things. At the time, Madoc saw no harm in learning what he called Self-Defense magic and turned to beginning to learn Red magic. He, once again, learned quickly, but it was now seen by others how the magic clearly affected his personality in strong ways. Once a peaceful mage, Madoc had turned to become quite the aggressive person as he used more Red magic. He began mixing his Red magic especially with his Green magic, powering it to insane levels at times, surprising even archmagi with his power. The worst hadn't even begun yet though. When Madoc began dabbling in Black magic, he became much more secluded from others. It was known he was practicing it but nobody knew to what degree it was. When people did interact with him however, he was quick to begin fights and would essentially gain a quick victory before toying with the enemy, using various brutal tactics to toy with his opponents. When he didn't fight with others, it was clear that he was beginning to loose his mind as his mind always was somewhere else, he would commonly be found mumbling to himself, and he would sometimes randomly begin casting magic as he would think of combinations. He didn't find clarity in himself until he woke from a sleep one day and found himself surrounded by viciously mutilated and twisted bodies of people. Memory flooded back to him in the clarity and he saw himself killing these people and testing various combinations of magic on them, all involving Black magic in someway. While still sane, he quickly taught himself some a few vital Blue magics, completing his training of the Wheel of Chromatics. Overtaken by grief still, he came up with a vast plan to save not only himself, but others before he became a monstrosity. He wrote a letter to a person named Lloyd Conley regarding congratulations in joining a group known as the Red Wings and enclosed it, yet didn't send it. He then used Green magic to alter his appearance so that nobody would recognize him and then before he could regret it, he used his newly learned Blue magic to wipe the memory of his life and all of his magic and implanted memories of a false life while also knocking himself out. Lloyd woke up soon afterword and in front of him was an open book of Blue magic among the other colors of the Wheel of Chromatics along with a closed letter entitled to him. He chuckled briefly before mumbling, "Heh, must've fallen asleep again while studying. He closed the book before grabbing the letter from his Uncle Conley and read through it quickly. It mostly was just congratulations so he ignored it but near the end he saw a strange warning that read, "I hear that you are learning the Wheel of Chromatics and I must urge you to be careful. I've heard stories of ambitious men falling to the allure of power from those magics and soon loosing their insanity. Please, don't become one of those men." He was briefly confused but shrugged his shoulders and packed his things and set out to the base of the Red Wings. Edited by Garm0099, December 28, 2012, 11:06 pm.

Hmm, lets offer something in topic that might help out a little bit. At the beginning of the narrative, lets assume that the Red Wings as an organization does not exist. While the members, the need and their position in the world exists, the organization itself does not. At the beginning the various PCs will be involved with a few events that will help to elevate themselves into a greater position within the military, starting very low on the totem pole as little more than "mooks" and "red shirts" but growing more important and worthy of notice as the plot takes place. Within a short period, we will hopefully have a moment where we can be named and perhaps get a good reason to name their order the Red Wings. So that means... So moving on, I was thinking about the initial plot of the story and would love to get your opinions: The Kingdom is in broiled in a bitter civil war, and our characters are quickly going to become the final line of defense. In the capitol city, protected by it's mighty walls and in the heart of the former kingdom, they have been spared most of the brutalities of the war. The country side, the villages and farmlands have been burned to the ground, trampled by the boots of soldiers and the corpses of the fallen. As our story begins, the city is gripped by fear. All around town, the commoners are grumbling at the state of affairs and scared for their lives. The merchant class cannot risk leaving the city walls for trade and many who are still here are cut off from their homelands. What few nobles who didn't get swept into this supposed revolution are already beginning to regret their decision to support the Prince (Yannis perhaps, albeit maybe a more likeable one for the time being?) The various kingdoms around the realm, the mighty mountains where the stone eaters reside have hidden themselves away from the conflict and abandoned the human settlements at the base of their realms. The river folk, always loyal to the crown, turned traitor and allied themselves with the nobility and their puppet Princess. So too, the farmers also cut their ties with their rightful ruler and joined this supposed rebellion against the rightful heir. While the Prince's forces still possess some strength, after a dozen battles... far more of them being pyrrhic victories or downright horrible defeats. Many of the great generals of the realm have already had their lifeblood spilled upon the field and some have even gone so far as joining the rebels. This may be the final days of the Prince's reign. While many might not like the man upon the throne, for he is a petty man with weak will and with a lack of resolve, at the very least he was the rightful heir and has tried his best to protect the realm. Within mere weeks (before Yannis could even show his own true self) the nobility had rallied against him, the Princess had turned against him and the entire realm was up in arms against him. This wasn't a just rebellion, just the proof that everyone doubted how well this Prince could possibly lead the nation and the nobility decided that they would rather be the one to lead, albeit through their puppet queen. But there is still a single light that shines down upon our realm. In a daring raid that took the life of one of the noble generals of the realm (I vote the Light General fyi) to seize a single, albeit unimaginably important piece in this game of war. In the tallest tower of her father's castle lies the Princess, locked away from the world but still alive. On Yannis' orders, the Princess was taken from the hands of the nobility and returned back to her rightful place. For the first time in the nearly 6 month long rebellion, there is a chance that the revolts might finally be coming to an end. Without their banner, the Princess, the rebels have no further claim to the throne. Knowing full well that this might insight the rebels into attacking the castle, Yannis has called for the guard along with any soldiers, mercenaries or anyone capable of fighting into the militia force in hopes of keeping the Princess secured along with maintaining the town against whatever attacks might come in response. This is where our characters come in... they have, either through choice, duty or luck, are being gang pressed into joining the loyalist armies of the Prince and assigned to protecting the walled castle town that they call home against the rebel armies. So does this sound like a good start to the story? Edited by NTNP, December 29, 2012, 7:55 am.

Sounds a lot more like CoH then a Red Wings rp. That isn't a bad thing, though. I think arc said onetime that Jake and the Redwings were the real story of the last CoH...sounds good ._.b |
