Oniskieth's first attempt at an RP, A fistful of grammar/spelling errors Interest Poll It's been thirty years since the war ended. The war that threatened to destroy the world. The war between mankind and the demonic invaders. Their very presence in our lands is a mystery, but the stories say that a dark group within the kingdom of Carthagena had managed to summon a demon lord into our world. A feet that had never before been achieved. The demon lord Dae'Infernu. The demon's presence fouled the air around him, and the men that had summoned him bowed before him after realizing he was not bound to their will as intended. With a smile the demon performed the ritual, opening a dark portal to another world. His brothers happily greeted him after stepping onto earth. Together the five demon brothers killed their original summoners, and using their souls in conjunction with their own demonic might created a portal large enough to move an army through. Their portal didn't last long, and it would be a century before it could be performed at such a level again, but they had a sizable army. Immediately they began their attack. Carthagena was destroyed from withing. They were guarding their borders, and their army within was spread to thin. Nobody was even able to escape, and Carthagena's armies fell one after another. Genadene was their next blockade. Genadene had been warring with Miranthul and Carthagena for decades. Their borders were secure, and they were able to hold of the initial attack. The demons may have even failed if not for Miranthul. They refused to stand down, and the demon lords saw an opportunity. Promises of power was all it took, and an all out attack followed the next week. The demons and traitors hit Genadene at the same spot. Once they were in there wasn't much they could do. After Genadene fell that month the remaining countries went down with ease, but most of the citizens and soldiers had already fled North by then. While the southern countries were being torn down we of the north had time to prepare. We weren't warring with each other like the south, but we still had strong armies. We united immideately, and with the sudden influx of refugees we had workers. It is hard to believe that the Miranthul traitors expected the demons to honor their deal. At about this time the demons were tearing the humans apart, and they all would have been dead if it weren't for the collapse of the demonic gateway. Cut off from reinforcements the demons were forced to recruit locally. What humans remained in the south the demons empowered with magic that had never before existed. They existed as necromancers and warlocks. The warlocks summoned demons onto the earth while the demon lords finished conquering the south. A single warlock could only summon one demon a day, but it was better then nothing. While this was going on the necromancers raised their fallen countrymen and enemies as undead. The walking dead weren't as powerful as the demons, but they were easier to create giving the current population of the south. Necromancy was a tricky arte. The raised monsters would only obey one master, the head Demon Lord. If a demon wasn't present during the creation they would most likely kill their creator. It was a quiet day whenever the demons invaded the north. They overran the defenses with relative ease, and continued to march deeper and deeper into our home without much resistance. Their target was, as we anticipated, the city of Avalon. Avalon is where the Church of the Light was born, and the church and their books had been the only thing needed to keep men from giving in to demonic influence. This is when we struck. Our army had been scattered throughout the country. Once we had essentially surrounded the demons we hit them all at once, dividing them. The famed general Charles Silverblade entered into a duel between the head demon lord Dae'Infernu, and with his holy might he purged the demon from our land. With the death of Dae'Infernu came another unexpected victory. All of the undead were now without a master, and over half of the creatures immediately died. The fraction that remained had but one loyalty, themselves. They killed demon, man, and undead alike. They were a bigger boon than we could have ever anticipated. They created enough chaos for the demons that were were able to route both the demons and undead with relative ease. The first defeat we faced was the the four remaining demons lords had escaped. They seemed to have embraced the idea of defeat, and they didn't even attempt to rally their remaining demonic forces. The second defeat we faced was the absence of the Miranthul traitors. The warlocks and necromancers disappeared into hiding. We spent months hunting down demons. Eventually it came to the point where an army was no longer needed. The northern Alliance disbanded, and resources were put towards rebuilding the south. Unfortunately peace would not remain. Some of the warlocks and necromancers attempted to summon another demonic army. They failed, miserably, and as a result the northern countries created a new order. The Hand of Light is what we call ourselves. Our leadership is compromised of former war heroes and church figures. Whenever we hear a report of dark magic we charge in to deal with it, but that isn't all we do. He help the unfortunate, heal the injured, and cure the sick. Whenever there is a national disaster we provide relief, and it has been this way for thirty years. We are the Hand of Light. Recently there have been reports of dark magic in a small town to the west. Myself, along with other new recruits, are being sent in to investigate. So basically we are playing as knight-templars planning on eliminating the evil magic creating demons and their consorts? Alright, I'm interested. Tell me a little more about our activities and such. Give a rundown of the first mission so we can have an idea of what kinds of things we will be doing and the general format. But in general it sounds pretty good. |

Follower's Handbook, knowing demonic beings Demon Lords Demon Lords are the most powerful demons known to exist. In the history of humanity only five have been known. The most powerful of the Demon Lords, Dae'Infernu, was killed during the demonic invasion thirty years ago, and now only four Demon Lords remain. The remaining Demons Lords are, in order or rank; Lo'Umbrus, Vile, Gan'sinar and Ignim'Niteri. Lo'Umbrus and his brothers are currently in hiding, and members of the order have been fruitlessly searching for the demonic leadership for the last three decades. Demon Lords are rightfully masters of Demonic Magic, and are also excel in Elemental Magic. The currently practiced Demonic Magic is but a mere fraction of what the Demon Lords are capable of unleashing. Demons Lords are humanoid in physical make up, but other then that they differ from humans greatly. The Demon Lords stand at an intimidating eight feet. Every ounce of their body is covered in muscle, and the package is wrapped with skin as pale as bone. Their body is void of any facial hair, but two arched horns are jutting from their foreheads. The horns are believed to be unbreakable. Their arms are proportional to their body size, but their upper arms and shoulders are covered in small, hardened barbs. The barbs are capable of puncturing skin, and are also believed to cause temporary paralysis if contact is made with humans. The hand at the end of the arm only have three fingers and a thumb, each nearly a foot long. The fingers on the Demon Lord's right hand have foot long nails which are razor sharp and as strong as steal. This claw acts as the Demon Lord's primary melee weapon, but the nails on Demon Lord's left hand barely cover their finger tips. The legs of the Demon Lord are thick and strong like the rest of their body. Their feet resemble an ancient reptilian, with four claw like toes; three in the front and only one in the back. The Demon Lords wear black plate over their torso, but the armor ends just over their abdomen. They also wear black plate over their legs. The armor doesn't seem to slow them down any. They also seem to wear black robes, but these are actually their bat-like wings wrapped around their bodies. When fully spread their wing-span is nearly sixteen feet. Damnit Nt...why do you have to ask questions I haven't considered. I'll be open to discussion on almost all of these. The inconsistent Q&A of oniskieth 1. How does magic work in this RP? Say a magic word, wave your hand, or swing your dick. Something will happen if you're trained in magic, and intend for something to happen. It drains you physically like swinging a weapon would. 2. With these magics, how are they broken up? Is there evil, forbidden "demonic" magics and good, "Holy" magics? Is there a neutral type that is neither good nor evil? Light is good magic and Demonic is evil, no exceptions. Necromancy is a type of demonic magic, and humans couldn't even wield it before Dae'Infernu gifted human-traitors with it. All other elements are what you'd consider neutral. 3. What is the role of the templar order? Do they only deal with mages, demons and undead? Or are they also involved with human events like politics? They are a religious order that hunts down demons and those that would practice their demonic artes. They also deal with bandits, disease, and national disasters. They're kinda like the national guard. 4. What is the templar order like? How is it setup, who runs it, what is the role of our character(s) within the order? The Hand of Light is a volunteer force created shortly after the demonic invasion ended. The founders were war heroes and members of the Church of the Light. As the order succeeded in killing renegade demons it gained the support of the church, and then eventually the Northern Countries. Their leader is the Archpaladin, Charles Silverblade. He and his fellow founders command the order. The order report to themselves, but the lands they operate in are not theirs. They are given the privilege by the kings of the north. They are funded by the church of the light, donations, and grateful kings. 5. Is this going to be an idealistic or cynical series? Both I guess 6. What are demons? What do they look like? Do they have a hierarchy of some sort? Evil men. You know the 7 deadly sins? They exhibit all of those traits to the letter. Their leadership is a dictatorship with the Demon Lords standing at the head. The typical demon's body color can range from pale blue to dark red. They're very muscular, and have horns varying in size poking from their foreheads. There are going to be a lot of different demons, but expect things like satyrs and minotaurs. 7. Do demons possess the ability to possess humans and if so do the demons cause (or can cause) humans to change form into say abomination looking bloodily horrors or nonhuman forms like monsters? Demons can possess humans, but it depends on the strength of the human and the demon. The possessed human can take on a form with characteristics of both the human and demon. 8. How does one gain "demonic" backing to possess "evil" magic? By being taught or reading 9. How does one gain "divine" or "alternative sources of magic" within this setting? Alternative sources of magic? 10. How common is magic? Do most people possess magic of some sort? Is it rare? Is it only obtained via a contract or secret process? Being proficient in magic is as common as being proficient with an axe or bow. 11. What is the general level of technology? Barely out of the stone age? Middle Ages? Height of Rome? Early Victorian? Middle ages. Muskets exist. Flint lock pistols exist. Cannons exist. Revolvers don't exist, and I don't care if they existed in the late 1500's. 12. What are humans like? Are they very "us" like physically, aka if they got punched into a wall across a room it would shatter their ribs and leave them with severe internal bleeding? Can they jump about 2 feet up or 5+ feet up a la video games? How fast is a human in this setting? Do they run on average at 8 miles per hour? 18? How physically strong are humans? Can they break a wall with their own strength etc? Before you take magic into account humans are like they are in the real world. 13. How strong are demons in comparison to humans? Demons are just a strong as humans, but they have a natural fear to them that would make any comman man quiver. 14. How strong are undead in comparison to humans? Same strength, but they can't feel pain...for the most part. 15. How strong are mages (or for that matter, humans with magic) compared to nonhumans with magic? Mages have stronger magicthen warriors/paladins/spell-swords. 16. How important will human needs like food, water, rest or for that matter taking time to heal be when role playing? We're humans, and we'll have to eat and sleep daily to stay at full strength. Due to magic injuries can be patched up rather quickly. 17. What will our characters role be in the story? Player characters will be members of the order, and they'll be the ones looking for forbidden magic. 18. What are the characteristics, attributes, abilities and rationalities you want to see in our characters? No idea. The order is religious, and the light definitely exists. Being a non-believer will probably make your character an outcast...and a moron. 19. How important are combat related skills for our characters? Very important 20. How important are non-combat related skills for our characters? Likes cooking or sewing? They'd add new angles to your character for sure, but I guess they aren't real important. Every country is a monarchy. The closest thing to democracy is the Order and the Church. I'm going to be honest...I really haven't thought the magic system through yet. Demons exist basically to cause trouble. There are no redeemable characteristics about them, and if they seem to cooperate expect them to be scheming. They want the church to die, and they want to swing the axe. Edited by oniskieth, November 27, 2012, 2:24 pm.

I would like to start by saying thank you for answering my questions. Since you did state that you are still open to negotiations and changes in regards to your RP, I thought I would respond to a few questions that didn’t sound right to me or that I feel like need additional information to fully understand. The following are my follow up questions:
All right so “Light” is good magic, but what does that mean? Is it granted by a divine being who gives it to humans like how demonic magic is obtained? Also what does this divine magics involve? Is it treated like how light magic is usually used, like in DnD and healing, status effect etc effects we see in RPGs? Is it just another element that can be used for any effect, like how we have treated light previously such as how it was in CoH. Moving on, what does Demonic magic include? Before we talked about it including conjuration (of demons), necromancy, blood magic and possession, is there any other forms of demonic magic? Lastly what do you mean by neutral magics being “everything else?” Is there just certain magics that are disliked by this setting but all others are treated equally? Is there any requirements and/or limitations of “neutral” magics? How was this neutral magic obtained? Is there some kind of “god” or force associated with neutral magics?
After hopefully reading the trope page I provided (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SlidingScaleOfIdealismVersusCynicism) you should now have a better understanding of what this question is asking. Now if you read it and know what type of a series you want it to be, then I’d like to know. If you aren’t sure I’ll happily provide some feedback and examples to let you have an easier time determining what you want as a DM. Either way is fine obviously, since we all have our own narrative styles, but know what you want to do is very important at the beginning to help you really understand what you want to do.
Really? So if I was given a book and just read the thing, I could suddenly learn how to take control over someone else’s body using blood magic and then sacrifice them to gain eternal life? Should it really be that easy? Perhaps I am being biased by my own belief systems and the idea of what “demonic” means in western culture but I hear it as “from demons.” Using the witchcraft example, traditionally people were said to gain magic by consorting with demons, making contracts with them in order to gain power. From what it sounded like before, the demonic lord Dae'Infernu originally gave the gift to someone. So wouldn’t it make more sense to have it that another demon would need to pass it to humans now too? What if in order to gain demonic power you had to make a contract with a demon? The human offers up part of their soul, or their flesh to the demon in exchange for demonic energy being given to the mortal in order to make use of the power of demons?
So as tied in to above, how does one gain these magical powers? Is it just a natural power that certain people are born with? Or is there another process? Like using the above example with how demons could make contracts with humans, what if a similar process had to be done? Like say in order to use “divine” magic you had to swear your vows to the “god” of this series, similar to the process of becoming ordained by the church of today before you can become a priest/nun? Also how is neutral magic gained? If divine and demonic magic requires a contract of sorts then should neutral magic also require one as well? Perhaps a person should be required to make a contract with the spirits to obtain other forms of magic? Or maybe the ancient spirits could reside in things and by using them, the person would obtain the ability to use magic? Or should some people normally possess this neutral magic? Should that be something that people are born with? Also can someone possess neutral magic and divine magic? How about all three types?
You might want to really consider what this means. I’ll use the example of CoH, it was very anime themed physics wise. Otherwise the vast majority of the actions that our characters took would have been impossible. Also acts like the ones shown in ToS thus far are also outside the realms of human possibility. In general, making a very “human” world means that battles are a brutal, quick sort of affair. People lack the corridination and reflexes to dodge most ranged shots such as arrows and bullets, making a ranged attack almost always fatal unless the shooter misses. Likewise, a single slash is usually enough to kill, since the vast majority of the human body isn’t meant to be sliced into. An example might be a stomach slash. In most of our RPs, that would be a “mere flesh wound” but in reality, the same hit would cause your insides to come pouring out onto your feet. Lastly you’ll want to consider how powerful magic is. Using the example of a simple bolt of lightning, in most of our series that is a low-level spell that barely does more than shortly phase an opponent between more impressive attacks. In real life, at its weakest, it would be like grabbing onto an electric fence or shoving a knife into a power socket. At best it would mess up your nerves for a little while and potentially knock you unconscious (a la tazer) OR at worst, cause your heart to stop due to a mix between a bad heart and the electric pulse. If you choose to do a fully human world physics wise (and all the more power to you), then you should probably think about how that will influence most battles in this seemingly combat centric RP.
All right, so belief is important but what else. I am going to make a few assumptions, tell me if they are probably correct. Due to this being a combat centric RP, I will assume you would prefer brave characters rather than cowards that would run at the face of danger. You will also probably want fighters rather than thinkers and negotiators, since combat will not happen if the immediate response to every problem is “can’t we talk this out” first. Are there other attributes that our characters should possess in order to facilitate your plot? |

I like it. Is it possible to have a character who is outside of the Order? The Hand only hunts down users of forbidden magic, so if we're just a regular mercenary or something, we can still find a way into the story right? |

The order primarily hunts down demonic magic users. They also help deal with bandits, natural disasters, and other issues. If you aren't in the order then your character can join the story, but they'll probably be asked to join the order. The Hand of Light is a volunteer force, and doesn't make much money aside from generous donations, so they wouldn't be able to offer your character much in terms of compensation. When the plot comes along your character would most likely want to aide the order, though. |

Added a character sheet to the first post. It isn't the final version, so things may change before the rp launches (whenever that will be). One thing I'd like to ask everyone who plans on joining is what type of magic system do you want? Fairly creative and powerful magic like in ToS? Magic with numbers like in LoTS? Mages to have much more reign then warriors? Please leave a comment saying what you'd like.

THE Man

Well, like I was saying in the cbox, we should have basic guidelines to define how much magic a character can use. Sort of like mana, a mage would have like 20 (theoretical) points to spend in a battle, and any other character would have about 5 or a little more. Single-target magic would use 1 point, and multi-target magic would use 2 points. Therefore a mage could cast say 20 single-target spells in a battle. Of course, these are guidelines meaning that they could cast a little more or a little less depending on the situation. Intense emotional distress would increase this to say 22 single-target spells or something like that. Now for the magic itself; I think it would be nice to have magic which can accomplish more than one task. Versatile spells. Though, I guess we'll probably be designing our own spells? If so, this doesn't really matter. Edited by Green, November 27, 2012, 2:03 am.

You said that using magic tires you out as much as swinging a weapon would. What if we apply that to the magic not only as a quality, but as a limitation? For instance, a spell of some sort--probably a Divine Spell--that creates a phantasmal blade of light and shoots it at an enemy. The blade will only go as far as a blade of the same size and weight would go if you threw it, and of course you expend the same amount of energy. The advantage of this compared to a sword is that it's far more accurate than a thrown sword and does extra damage against certain enemies. That would be a pretty easy spell to spam, but it's also rather weak--how often do thrown swords really kill an enemy, you know? The next "level" of this kind of spell might be a Spear, which would be more powerful and capable of killing someone if it hit in the right spot, but throwing a long javelin properly takes a lot more exertion than flinging a sword. On the other side of the spectrum, consider a "big" spell like, say, lifting a huge boulder/lots of rocks out of the earth to fling at your enemy with an elemental spell. That shit would be really hard work depending on how many, and how large, the stones were. No one could throw a mountain at someone because no human will ever be strong enough to do that. Hell, even dropping some kind of avalanche on someone would be really hard unless by avalanche you're just thinking a storm of pebbles. These kind of spells that are physically impossible for humans to achieve without magic or mechanical advantage would be the kind that are one hit wonders, and using them might cause such intense exhaustion that they tear muscles or collapse after casting it. I don't really think you need a point system, but if you use the honor system, make sure you are VERY SPECIFIC and make sure to answer everyone's questions about their spells with CONSISTENCY. Don't make an exception for anyone if your story doesn't work that way. |

Name: George Gender: Male Age: 51 Appearance: George is a somewhat average looking man with short black hair and a small beard with a remarkably small amount of grey in it. He usually wears a hooded cloak of brown and underneath a simple looking shirt and pants. Most who see him assume that he is a mere commoner and unworthy of notice. Around his neck is a silver chain with the symbol of the Hand of Light hanging from it. His left and right hands are covered in large blue tattoos that seem to glow when in the presence of fiends. During travels, he carries a small backpack along with a 2 foot tall, enchanted torch that he can refill with oil and ignite at will allowing for a good source of light in the darkness or for beating people with a flaming, metal stick. Backstory: George is a relic of the past, a survivor of the demon wars and exorcism specialist of the highest order. His two great spells, Hamaon and Samsara are well known across the order for their ability to slay high power demons along with weaker ones upon a mere touch while leaving the possessed relatively unharmed. During the various conflicts with demons, this made him a powerhouse upon the battlefield rivaling some of the heads of the Order such as Silverblade. However, against anything but demons he is very susceptible to ills. As such, he is usually only sent out to deal with reports of demonic activity and must rely on his younger, more versatile comrades to handle any other sources of danger. More about him will be revealed once I know more about the Order of Light. Main Hand Weapon: His own two hands Off-hand Weapon: Nothing Sub-Weapon 1:A small knife in his pack(more meant for opening things or used as a screw driver than anything else) Sub-Weapon 2:A reusable torch (more meant for traveling at night than beating people with) Armor: None Inventory: Whatever is in his backpack. It is mostly just food, cooking supplies, some traveling equipment (like a sowing kit, utility knife), some oil for his torch and other ‘common’ goodies that the younger people seem to forget to pack like extra socks or a lighter. Primary Element: Divine Spells: 1.Hamaon/Divine/Exorcism– By laying his hands on a possessed person or actual demon George can instantly conjure up the divine’s power into his hands and either destroy the demon without harming the possessed or inflict massive damage to the abomination. The touch must last at least a full second and be George’s intent for Hamaon to activate. 2.Samsara/Divine/Exorcism– By standing still for a short while (one turn), George can conjure up a divine light upon the area that will either instantly destroy any demons within without injuring the host or inflict moderate damage to all demons in range. If a demon touches him during this time it will cause the spell to go off immediately at a shorter range likely only destroying that demon OR any that are making contact with George as well. 3.Divine Seal/Divine/Exorcism– When initiating Hamaon, if George can make physical contact with a demon or possessed human, it will be unable to break free due to a paralyzation like effect. When using Samsara, the lighted up area will be inescapable for demons or possessed humans making evacuation nearly impossible. Stronger (boss level) demons can forcibly break free from the effects of Divine Seal but in doing so causes mild, unblockable injuries. 4.Purge/Divine/Exorcism– After successfully laying on hands using Hamaon or the area wide spell Samsara, the destroyed demon’s energy is used to instantly dispel any remaining demonic magic in the immediate vicinity or will cause moderate damage or disruption to area or region wide demonic magic. The stronger the demon(s) destroyed, the larger the range of purge will become. 5.Detection/Divine/Exorcism– As a demon-exorcizing specialist, George has obtained an unnatural connection with the divine when facing these fiends. When approaching an area with demonic activity the tattoos on his hands begin to glow. If a disguised fiend or possessed human makes physical contact with George then it’s true form is visible to all for a short period. Edited by NTNP, November 27, 2012, 8:53 am.

Onime, my system isn't a point system. It's just a general guideline we would follow while using the honour system. There would be no numbers involved in the RP. |

Naw, I like it the way that it is. Over-crippling specialization is just that. Something about the idea of an older, humble gentleman willing to help out however he can but nicely going off to the side when faced with his non-ideal target just sounds like something fun to explore. Plus he's a kindly looking older guy with no really jaw dropping characteristics that can 1-2 shot most boss demons. That's awesome enough as it stands. |

Can I play as someone who traded their soul to a demon and joins the Order hoping to get it back or something like that? Also, does "Demonic magic is currently illegal" mean it's off-limits for us or just that we should avoid using it publicly in the RP? |

When it comes to strength of magic over martial weapons, I prefer the "quadratic wizard and linear fighter"model as seen here. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LinearWarriorsQuadraticWizards |

Hmmm...get your soul back? Yes, but any powers gained from the trade are lost. Your characters can have demonic magic, but if they're caught using/practicing it they're going to be killed...for now. |

Name: Marec Lyondol Gender: Male Age: 25 Appearance: Marec stands at an even six feet. His wavy brown hair reaches down to his shoulders, framing a masculine face with piercing green eyes and a narrow strip of hair on his chin. He wears a full suit of dull gray armor that looks like it once shone proudly. A dirty white cape is attached to the armor at the back and shoulders, coming around to the front of Marec's body and leaving only the center of his body and legs visible, much like a cloak. A sword is strapped to his right hip. Backstory: Born in the south after the end of the war, Marec grew up in a country in the process of rebuilding. He was an adventurous youth, often wandering off to "slay demons" or carry out some similar quest rather than do his chores. At an early age he began to study elemental magic, not caring for the divine. Deep down, he harbored a secret curiosity towards demonic magic. Ten years ago, at age 15, Marec stumbled upon a ruined village. A thorough search found it utterly abandoned, save for one denizen: a dead warlock. By all counts it appeared as if the man had committed suicide by piercing his own heart with his dagger, but what fascinated Marec the most was the man's grimoire. He spent the night camped out in the ruins, paging through the dark book, fascinated by what it held. Promises of power. By the time the sun rose he had made up his mind and pulled the dagger from the warlock's chest. With his own blood, which he head read increased the potency of a summon, he inscribed the proper - or so he thought - symbols to summon a lesser demon, which he would chain to his will. His entire plan backfired when the ritual completed and a different beast entirely stepped through. His attempts to bind the demon failed completely and utterly, and as he contemplated running it finally spoke. A simple offer. For his meager soul, he would be able to keep his life as long as he wanted. And power. Tantalizing power would be his. Intrigued by the offer of power and seeing a veiled death threat, Marec hesitantly accepted. The demon reached out, and everything went black. When he awoke, he found the demon's offer was true. His rudimentary mastery of magic had expanded greatly, and he quickly found himself crafting his own spells. He quickly grasped the Frostfire, a rare form of Ice magic that creates blue flames which burn intensely cold and leave ice in their wake. A year ago he volunteered to join the Hand of Light. To this day none know of his condition but himself. Main Hand Weapon: Sword Off-hand Weapon: Shield Gauntlet - Marec's right gauntlet has extra plating and reinforcement to allow him to block with it. Sub-Weapon 1: Sub-Weapon 2: Armor: Basic armor. Inventory: Journal. Primary Element: Is this necessary? Ice Spells: 1. Blood Rite / Demonic / Blood - Marec uses his own blood to empower his next two spellcasts. Blood from arteries has a more potent effect than blood from veins. 2. Summoning: Emissary / Demonic / Summoning - Summons an Emissary of the demon that holds Marec's soul. The Emissary will unsummon itself if attempts are made to bind it or as it sees fit. 3. Freezing Burst / Elemental / Ice - Creates a small explosion of frostfire at a location within 20 feet, signaled by the rapid formation of an icy sphere. 4. Icy Grasp / Elemental / Ice - Releases an instantaneous burst of frostfire directly in front of the caster. 5 Cold Embrace / Elemental / Ice - The caster covers their body with frostfire. Though they are unharmed, the frostfire will leap towards enemies that come within melee range. |
