Description: "Big Iron," written by Marty Robbins, is a country ballad originally released on album in 1959 and as a single in 1960. It tells the story of a Ranger chasing after an outlaw named Texas Red. The re-imagined lyrics "Pibgorn" tells the story of a Minstrel trying to get well know Landy RPer Orladan to dance to a pibgorn, as he is well known for despising the instrument. Positioning: Simple Positioning: Default except Theorbo on Front Row. Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGmUsJvRv7U Lyrics: To the town of Michel Delving rode a Minstrel one fine day. Hardly spoke to folks around him, didn't have too much to say. No one dared to ask his business, no one dared to make a slip... For the Minstrel there among them had a Pibgorn on his hip. Pibgorn on his hip... It was early in the mornin' when he rode into the town. He came riding from the east side slowly lookin' all around. 'He's a Minstrel loose and running,' came the whisper from each lip, 'And he's here to do some business with the Pibgorn on his hip.' Pibgorn on his hip... In this town there was a young man by the name of Orladan. To get him dancin' to the Pibgorn was many a' minstrels' plan. He was stubborn and unbendin', though a youth of some rapport... And the minstrels who had failed numbered one an nineteen more. One and nineteen more... Now the Minstrel started talkin', made it plain to folks around, 'I'm just an Erebor Minstrel, I'll not be too long in town.' He came here to make a man dance to a Pib' before he ran... And he said it didn't matter his name was Orladan. Name was Orladan... Wasn't long before the story was relayed to Orladan. But the young lad didn't worry, bards that tried before were sad. Twenty bards had tried to make him, twenty bards had made a slip. Twenty one would be the Old Dwarf with the Pibgorn on his hip. Pibgorn on his hip... It was thirty past the hour when they met out in the field. The evening passed so quickly, neither one would budge or yield. Folks were watching from their lawn chairs and their mouths were firmly latched. They knew this Ragged Minstrel was about to meet his match. About to meet his match... There was twenty feet between them when the Dwarf began to play. And the deftness of the Minstrel is still talked about today. Orladan had not quite noticed, 'fore his feet began to skip... For the Minstrel's notes were catchy with the Pibgorn on his lips. Pibgorn on his lips... It was over in a moment when the folks had gathered 'round. There before them was Orladan tappin' his foot 'pon the ground. Oh he might have went on sulkin', but he made one crucial slip... When he challenged the Dwarf Minstrel with the Pibgorn on his hip! Pibgorn on his hip... Parts (1 of 1): Edited by Lifimun, Jul 8 2014, 02:10 PM.
