You can get a transport there to Mos Eisley or wherever you're going." ―Luke Skywalker, to Obi-Wan Kenobi Anchorhead was one of the first settlements on Tatooine. Bestine was the capital city of the planet Tatooine. edit History It was considered the only metropolis on Tatooine and the only totally civilized city anywhere on the desert world. Bestine was also the only city on Tatooine to be permanently occupied by the Empire during the Galactic Civil War. One location of note within the city was the Museum of Tatooine. It was also the location of a cantina where the popular Barefoot Band regularly performed. The Tatooine Visitors Bureau operated out of Bestine. Bestine was founded by colonists from the water-world Bestine IV in 99 BBY, which may account for the fact that, a century later, skyhoppers were closely associated with both places. On their way to Mos Eisley in 0 BBY, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker spent a night in Bestine. During 1 ABY, the city was involved in frequent political elections between Sean Trenwell and Victor Visalis and later Cody Skywalker. Victor Visalis pledged to secure the metropolis with a surge of Stormtrooper patrols, so as to protect the city from Tusken Raider attacks. Sean Trenwell pledged to improve Bestine's marketplace. However, Codysseus Skywalker rose to power by pledging to demolish Hutt control of the planet as well as protect them from all of their enemies. He also promised to keep the Senate perfectly aware of Tatooine's status, at all times. He even greatly improved the economical crisis. His ways are unknown, but people say he is a great man.
