It was lucky that the redhead was there to give Tripp the gist because honestly, understanding the man down the bar was proving tough. Of course she heard some things, but... most of it was getting lost somewhere in between him speaking and her processing. He seemed nice enough though...and the woman did too. "OH, right, well like.. you know." She shrugged a shoulder, accepting the glass thankfully and taking a deep drink of it. "I'm not like... alone alone. Psh." She waved her hand lightly. Fibbing was not one of her strong suits, but... it just seemed like not a good idea to be telling them her whole life story. "No, I just... you know, got separated from my uh, group." She nodded, as if reassuring herself. Moving her pitch eyes over to Remy, she shrugged again. "Um, I'm an art student, so, we have a project where we're supposed to find the beauty in negative space. I was coming down here to do some sketches or something because, well, I love the rain and it makes for really challenging, but transcendent work. I thought the comparison of rain to empty space would be a neat study but..." She opened her bag and brought out a handful of wet, pulpy paper. "Guess not, huh?" Looking back to Leila, she offered a small smile, "It's okay, I'm um, I'm okay right now, on the food front. Really, it's no big deal, the water is perfect," she insisted as she stuffed the paper lump back into her bag to avoid it dripping all over the place. |

"Oh, my apologies then. Guess I jumped to conclusions, eh?" Casimir pursed his lips as he glanced at the door. Close to the top of his list of unforgivable human flaws was lack of punctuality - how could you expect to be taken seriously as an adult if you couldn't be bothered to be on time? "You know what? I'll take you up on that offer, Mr. Gra--...wait a second. Graves? As in Ennis Graves?" Casimir knew the name... very well in fact. Making the connection caused him to straighten his posture a bit, stiffen his jaw, and simmer down the smile on his face. |

Before she could stuff it back into her bag, Leila swept her hand and smiled as it landed in her palm. "Pity..." She sighed, tilting her head and setting her drink down. She ran her other hand over it, slowly peeling one miraculously dry layer off at a time. The images were a bit worn, like they had been in the sun a little long. Finally, there was a pile on the bar, "There! Keep 'em in your bag for the night. They should recover their color before the dawn." She smirked, brushing her hair behind her ear. "One rule, love, learn how to lie better if you want to keep wandering around these parts.” Leila teased lightly, rolling her eyes over to Rem. “Wouldn’t you agree, Remy? Best weapon in the arsenal is a silver tongue?” |

"Weh! Dat is the first rule ta learn, mais cher. You got dat one right." Remy agreed with Leila with an accompanying nod and a smile before looking back over at the girl. "Art studen eh? That's not a course I hear often around here, yea? Most be going ta do some other work; they wanna be some fancy lawyer or doctor. Not many these days see the good in art. Good on ya, bebe!" He took a nice, long healthy sip of his bourbon them, welcoming the comforting burn that came with it. It was like second nature at this point and he couldn't imagine his day without it. |

Tripp lifted her eyebrows as she watched what Leila was doing. She had some seriously functional magic - it was impressive to say the least. "Yeah...." She replied to Remy, clearly distracted by Leila's work. "I um... thank you, I ..." She blinked a couple times once there was a stack of her sketches and watercolors sitting on the bar now. "I love art, I always have. I had this hand-me-down book when I was little and..." She shrugged as she gently picked up the stack of papers to replace them in her bag. "It just sort of resonated with me." She unclipped the bag's flap, but the moment she did, another loud thunder crack, this one strong enough to rattle the windows, startled her. While she managed not to fall off the chair, her papers went flying. "Ohmygod," she groaned as she hopped up and started catching the ones still falling while scrambling for the others. Yeah, nope. She was never going to be able to come back HERE again. |

Ennis got a silent satisfaction of sorts as he watched the recognition come across the other man’s face. “Yes, the same. Rethinking your acceptance of my offer?” He asked, watching him with almost…indifference? He knew the stories that surrounded his name. He never bothered correcting them. Most were true, others were exaggerated truths. ---- Leila chuckled, happy Remy was being personable with the young girl. She outright laughed as the girl knocked her papers off the counter. With a swish of her hand the papers froze where they were floating. "When you panic it only makes it worse..." She mused simply, "Relax, lovie. Seriously, I think you need a drink stronger than water." She finished off the last of her drink, seeming incredibly unfazed by the gloom outside. "Art has always fascinated me, to be honest. Never very good at it myself....cooking is more my speed." She snuck Remy a wink, wiping down a few glasses as the thunder continued to roar. Hell, her coven used to conjure worse storms than this. These were nothing. |

Not able to help himself, and trust me he tried, Remy laughed as the girl knocked her papers to the seven winds. As Leila froze them he stood up and moved to go help pluck them out of the air (gently of course) and hand them back to the poor rattled girl. He caught Leila's wink and she got a snort in response before he spoke up. "Eh, go ahead and pour this bebe up a drink, yea? Don't you go declining either you goan need it, yea?" He told the girl as he winked down at her before moving to occupy his seat once more, drink back in hand. "Myself? Always had an appreciation for art as well I did. Take some real skill and determination, yea? Ya gotta be born with them skills, ain't no thing that can be taught now." Just then another loud crack of thunder sounded out after the quick yet bright flash of lightning. To make it worse, just as the thunder cracked, the door slammed open and there in the doorway was a lithe figure clad entirely in black; black moto pants fitting tightly across long legs and a black leather jacket zipped all the way up to keep the rain out. The figure moved to remove the black motorcycle helmet, and as she shook out her hair, looked across the room to the bar where Leila was standing. "Hey Leila, you guys open yet?" Sin asked as she noticed that Remy was in his usual spot along with a quiet mouse she didn't bother to take much stock of standing there. While she was no regular like Remy, she was known to be in here at least once a week to grab a beer. And this was always the stop she made right before she delivered Verena back to the home. So when the wet and bedraggled red head behind her came in from the pouring rain, it wouldn't be any surprise to Leila or Remy. They would know that it was just business as usual. This was the second time THIS month after all that she was being dragged back. ((Verena's picture is stored under Sin's profile if you're curious!)) Edited by never_fade_away, Nov 16 2016, 02:02 AM.

Casimir let out a smile and brought out a hand for a shake. "Not at all! You probably don't know me - I don't think we've ever met in person, but we've spoken on the phone a few times. Casimir Carvalle - Senator Antoinette Devine's son? I don't imagine you'd recognize me by voice either, but I'm disappointed you don't know my face. After all... face of the family right here," he insisted with a chuckle. Internally, Casimir knew to tread carefully with this one. This man knew his darkest secret - after all... it had been him who had been called to clean and cover it up, but that was six years ago. Since then, Ennis had done a few PR clean ups at Casimir's expense and one at Fina's, but nothing like that day. -- Tripp was mentally scolding herself - interactions, even small ones like this, had NEVER been her strong point. She was much more of a thinker rather than a talker. Usually she wasn't THIS ridiculously uncoordinated, but apparently today was just a particularly bad day. Her cheeks darkened as the two people chuckled at her misfortune, but she had no ill will toward them. She WAS being dramatic... even if it wasn't on purpose. She offered Remy a tiny smile as he helped collect her papers and she made sure to stuff them securely back in the bag. Just in time too... because a moment later, another crack of thunder echoed outside and the door slammed open and Tripp felt her heart miss a beat or two, maybe three. "Oh uh... no, no drinks for me. Water is fine," she insisted again, trying not to ostentatiously stare at the two women who had just entered the bar. They were both beautiful and the girl in front was decked out like some kind of...comic book heroine badass. Tripp felt herself soaking right back up into herself - now that there were other patrons... it was probably time to get moving.... |

Leila jokingly saluted the ex-soldier, “Aye aye…” She mused, pouring up a long island iced tea as the door burst open. She glanced up with a laugh at the voice, “For you, shuga, of course!” She nodded her head to the empty seats by the bar as she walked over, handing Tripp her drink along the way. "Don't you think about movin' from that seat, love. I'll be right back. And there will be food in that belly before you leave. Mark it..." “Play nice, Rem!” She called out as well, knowing how he could be when there was a delay between drinks. With a snap of her fingers both girls were dry as she pulled up a glass of water for the train wreck. “For the mess ya cleaning up. What about you? What’s your poison for tonight?” She asked Sin curiously as she leaned forward on the bar. ---------- Ennis shook his hand briefly, “Ah, of course.” He said simply, the corner of his mouth twitched upwards slightly before resting back to its normal neutral state. Right. The chatty Devine. Damn if he didn’t remember that night. It was an utter shit show. “In any case, lets head up and not waste any more of your time, yes?” He asked, already starting towards the elevator. At least the kid had stayed out of trouble in recent months. Relatively, in any case. Edited by RiddleMeThis396, Nov 16 2016, 02:50 AM.

"Eugh, I envy your powers sometimes lucky bitch." Sin muttered as she ran her fingers through her hair after Leila had dried them off. She was glad that the woman was willing to serve them, absolutely needing a beer at the moment. Walking up to the bar, she leaned against it, ignoring the fact that she was essentially shoving her giant sword into Trigg's face as she leaned away from her. "Get me a Guinness will you? And while you're grabbing V's water get her her usual as well?" She asked, knowing that it was an unusual request; a warmed up glass of red wine with a splash of scotch on top. The combination made no sense to anybody but Sin found that it was the only thing to sooth and calm down the crazy girl. "Gonna be a slow night I take it?" She asked as she looked around. "Hello." Verena was suddenly standing in front of Tripp with a bright smile, her hands tucked behind her back as she watched Tripp with her eerie yellow eyes. The small girl was so pretty! She very much wanted to be friends with her. Remy had an eye on Verena, familiar with her mental instability. Sin usual had a tight leash on her though so he wasn't TOO worried. Verena would never do anything to upset Sin and to be honest, he didn't blame the woman. If there was a bounty hunter he wanted to stay out of the way of, it was Sin. She was DAMN good at what she did. She was known for her ability to stare down danger and laugh at it before making IT scared of her. Not to mention everyone knew that she was the only one who could keep Verena in line which was... miraculous since the beautiful yet unstable redhead listened to pretty much no one. |
