Millicent sighed sharply, her stomach clenching as she felt the new presence. "Bloody git." She mumbled harshly, setting the clothing down on the table. This was such a horrendous idea. So bad. But...the shaking had started and she needed to get out before it got worse. She slid her hand along her belt, relaxing the smallest amount as it hit the small dagger hidden.

"I. Said. No." And without warning sliced Vek across the palm of his outstretched hand. It wasn't a bad wound but it would burn like hell. It also caught him off guard just enough for her to bolt out of the shop. She paused for half a moment out of panic before making haste for the weapons shoppe. Oh by the gods let Alek be done shopping...

Milli was halfway down the street when Farron pushed through the door of the shop, aggressively shaking out her hand. Men had such hard heads... and she was pretty sure her knuckles were going to be bruised for that punch.

She looked around worriedly, searching for Milli when she saw her, headed frantically toward where Alek had said he'd be.

"Milli," she called, turning and jogging toward her.

Milli stumbled to a stop as she heard Farron. She turned, hands trembling by her sides. She looked about ready to cry to be honest. She needed Alek. She didn't know why he was so important at the moment but...

The pebbles were quaking near her feet, her breath was burning. "No..." The word was barely audible but there. The panic shown in her glassy eyes. Not now. Now here. Her pendant was ice cold. Nyss was probably trying to help but...

Farron didn't miss the pebbles shaking. First thing she planned on doing when she returned was getting Aleron on board for teaching this poor girl how to control herself. If two miserable louts set her off like this in a small, backwater town like Beyfield, she would never survive the intricacies of Vallonde.

"Come along, darling," she murmured, wrapping an arm around Millicent as she pulled her toward the weapons shop. She had been hoping NOT to get Alek involved.... but it looked like he was her only solution.

They were about fifteen feet away when the door to the shop opened and Alek stepped down onto the street. He was talking to the man behind him, likely the shop owner.

"Thank you for all the information," Alek said, his voice filled with politeness. "The bow you have is.... well, I'm sure she would like to see and test it, but... I think it would be perfect for her."

"I have no doubt, sir," the shopkeep said with a smile. "Bring her here when you've a chance and we'll see if it suits her as you think it may. Happy day, sir. Stay safe." THe shopkeep smiled again, did a little bow, and went back inside.

Alek ran his hand through his hair as he let out a stream of air and looked around.

It took all of ten seconds for his eyes to land on Millicent. He looked calm at first, but he registered her expression, Farron's protective stance and look, and knew something had happened.

"Princess," he breathed quietly as he started toward them.

Millicent's Immediate reaction was to pull away from Farron. Like Asta she wasn't accustomed to touching other. In fact, she'd spent the majority of her life avoiding it. She also didn't want to hurt her. Nor anyone else. Even though her mind was pleading for her to run she stayed put for the moment.

She caught sight of Alek when he emerged from the weapons shop but she couldn't get her feet to move. She was still white-knuckling the small dagger, edge shiny with red. Finally she found herself again as he started towards her and, without warning, raced up to him. Before he could really react, she had her arms looped tight around his neck, face buried in his neck as her body was trembling.

Not because of the young men anymore, however. Now she was scared because she'd gotten so worked up she couldn't get herself to calm down.

Her solution? Alek. Why? Damned if she had the foggiest idea....

Farron immediately let the girl go as she felt her pulling toward Alek. To be honest, even she wasn't expecting the sort of reaction he got. Her eyebrows jumped up and she folded her arms lightly as she watched them.

Alek was beyond surprised when Milicent literally threw herself at him. His arms opened to receive her and let out a quiet 'oof' as she collided with him. "It's...it's alright, what happened?" He glanced up at Farron from over Milli's shoulder, but the woman just shook her head lightly.

He could feel her shaking and his arms naturally wrapped around her. "I'm here, Millicent," he mumbled quietly. His body was surprisingly at ease, though... most certainly not completely. There was definitely more than a bit of tension there, but he handled it well.

To her surprise the shaking began to subside as he wrapped his arms around her. She heard the dagger clatter to the cobblestone but barely registered it. "M-men are bloody gits." She mumbled into his shoulder, finally able to catch her breathing. She didn't know what it was about him but he was helping. Somehow...

Slowly she pulled back so she could look up at him easier after a few moments. She still had a slight shake but it was marginally better. Bonus, the pebbles had stopped rattling. "I...I know I shouldn't have gotten so worked up but...I panicked and, well..." She looked away, almost ashamed. She couldn't keep losing control like this. They couldn't afford it.

"Men?" Alek was understandably confused since she didn't seem to be explaining what happened... but eventually he put two and two together. His mouth pulled down into a scowl that she was able to see when she pulled back. His arms loosened around her as she did so and though his attention was on her, his eyes weren't -- he was clearly looking for something....more likely someone.

"It's alright," he assured her, only reinforcing the fact that letting her out of his sight was a terrible idea. He wouldn't make the same mistake twice.

He brought his eyes back down to her. "Don't concern yourself with it. When we have a free moment.... we should... probably talk with Aleron about... you know." That he was even suggesting it was a major step for him. He was not only acknowledging her magic, but apparently on board with her learning to control it. "But.... until then... why don't you stay with me? I've... something to show you if you'd like."

Millicent saw the scowl and winced slightly, though she was surprised he'd stayed relatively calm about the whole thing. What did surprise her even more, however, was his suggestion of going to Aleron for help. Was he actually finally accepting her?! That...that he was on board with everything? She gave him one more small hug, quiet "thank you" and a shy smile before finally stepping back. She didn't want to let go, she realized then, but she couldn't figure out why. She was being silly...

She nodded once more, retrieving her dagger from the ground but only holstered it after cleaning the blade, Alek seeing the red bold on the white rag from her pouch. "I think...I think that's a very good plan. What did you find?" She asked him, trying to get her mind off of everything. She was steady once more as she glanced to Farron with an apologetic smile. She really did like Farron and the others...but Alek was her rock. There was no denying that anymore....

Farron smiled back at the young woman and just shrugged, not seeming in the slightest offended by the actions. More or less, she was impressed with the way the both of them were handling the surprising situation. She couldn't decide who was more impressive at the moment.

Alek's sharp eyes didn't miss the blood and he immediately went to demand about it when he saw the slightest shake of a head from Farron behind Milli. Internally growling, he kept it to himself.... at least for now.

"I've found a bow I think you'll like very much," he finally said, making no further mention of the hug or anything regarding it. "Farron, you should come too. He's trying to charge me an arm and a leg for it... but I think it may almost be worth it."

"Lead th'way. We'll see how the craftsmanship fares," she instructed as Alek glanced at Millicent and turned to walk back up to the store. He paused at the door and pulled open the door for her, bowing his head lightly as she passed him.
