"That MEANS." Aleron murmured back to him, eyes darting towards where the stranger was leading them, hoping that he didn't have enhanced hearing. "That means that he's not fully human and if you piss him off we could be killed... or worst." ((Expelled! xD)) He informed Alek, hoping that the guardsman wouldn't do anything stupid. He followed after the stranger, noting where they were heading and trying to keep up with their surroundings. He watched as they approached a building within the first ring. He studied the building curiously before looking over at the stranger that had led them there and listened to his words. When he opened the door with what had to be magic, he looked over at Alek. He just shrugged and gave him a look. It didn't need to be said to keep on their toes.

"Nope!" Asta smiled over at Farron, not seeming to mind Pyr cuddling with Farron. "After the frog was a tiger. Then Camulus chased him trying to eat him." She giggled as she remembered that day.

Randon just grinned with a chuckle at Asta's outburst, finding something fun about getting a rise out of a girl that was usually rather docile. Millicent let out a soft laugh as Asta continued her story, shaking her head a little bit. She was happy to know, however, that even Aleron who seemed to have everything together, made mistakes every once and a while.

She blinked as Randon nudged her gently, forcing herself to focus on the conversation. "Mm...sounds like an interesting day." She told her simply, knowing she should be more involved but her mind was failing her.

Alek's jaw tensed as Aleron kept talking. Not entirely human? How was that possible? Half breeds weren't lawful and the other kinds were sequestered to their own Ward in Vallonde City Proper... they weren't allowed to live in certain places and even though city law instructed they were utterly free to roam and visit, everyone knew there were unwritten rules against 'mingling'.

The man walked inside, "Roisin... " he called in a cheery tone, leaving the door open for the men behind. "Where dost thou be'st at such a time of eve! You've patrons who are in dire circumstances, in great need." The tiny store was dark, save a low flame burning in a lantern on the counter.

Alek walked in first, feeling cramped the moment he did so. Every bit of viable space was filled with something - glowing bottles of unknown liquid, herbs, berries, flowers, fruits, mortars, pestles, insects, questionable items Alek didn't want to consider and various other things he didn't even know what they were.

Soft footsteps clunked down a set of extremely narrow stairs and a moment later, a girl of no more than fifteen namedays came down, yawning greatly. She opened overlarge luminous blue eyes, her hair the color of white-gold. She was absolutely tiny, barely coming to Alek's abdomen at the top of her head.

She rubbed sleep from her face as she drew her saucer-like eyes across her guests. She curtsied to Aleron and Alek then looked to the stranger expectantly.

The man smiled and did an illustrious bow to them as well. "Roisin welcomes ye to her humble abode and bids ye a fair eve."

The girl smiled and bobbed her head in agreement, not uttering a single sound. She waved her hand lightly.

"She asks ye what be yer needs and in what way she be of assistance," he continued, Roisin merely nodding with a welcoming smile as she folded her hands in front of her properly.

--

Farron smiled a bit, "Oh I would've paid t'see that," she said with a chuckle. "Never go from something small and unintimidating to something capable of eating yeh in one fell swoop." She watched Millicent carefully. "What next, Asta?"

Aleron... didn't even BLINK throughout the whole weird scene. Even when Roisin didn't talk for herself. He just smiled over at her as he bowed respectfully. "Milady. I'm sorry to trouble you at such an hour. As your friend has stated, we're running a bit tight on time in a dire emergency." He explained smoothly, his voice radiating calm like it normally did, his stance even relaxed. Even though the man was the one to speak for her, he looked straight at Roisin as he spoke.

"Our friend has been poisoned with Bey Root and we do not have the ingredients nor tools to create an antidote. We were hoping to come across and apothecary that did." He explained to her. "Maybe you can help us out?

-

Asta smiled at Farron before looking over at Millicent in concern. She looked really pale...

"Well he was pretty quick to change him to a different animal. But then it got even worse!" She declared with a nod. "Because next he changed him into a bear! A big brown one!" She grinned as she remembered. THAT had been quite hilarious.

Roisin pondered for a moment before nodding with a smile. She hopped along past them, going to the long wall of nothing but ingredients and tools. She scooted the stranger out of the way, browsing her wares intently.

The man smiled at her and moved to lean against her counter. "The best in the business," he declared to Alek and Aleron as the tiny woman did her thing. "Ne'er another I've come acros't in my days that can do as she does."

Alek maintained his cool demeanor, not feeling an ounce of trust for this new.... helpful stranger. People just didn't go out of their way for ones they didn't know. It wasn't normal. He didn't know much about this anyways, so he let Aleron take the lead, staying quiet as he watched for any sign he was going to regret this idea.

Farron chuckled a bit, "A bear? Not a wise afterthought... are you sure your brother didn't have a death wish that day?" She glanced at Pyr, who was sparking happily.

Thinking the princess needed a bit of awakening, she grabbed an extra log and threw it, quite forcefully, onto Pyr's flames. He responded almost instantly by shooting himself upward, a shower of orange and yellow glittering sparks dancing into the air around them. His flames flew into the air and the first puff of smoke they'd seen since he'd first been tasked with keeping their fire lit, huffed upward. Despite the fact he was now roaring at her in his language, the show itself was something of a spectacle to see.

"That's absolutely perfect then and we were very lucky to stumble across you and her then." Aleron replied smoothly to the stranger's words with a smile as he turned back to watch Roisin gather what she needed and create an antidote for them. Usually when he needed salves and the like from an apothecary, he would trade them rare herbs and the like that were hard to come across from other countries, but this place looked so well stocked, he didn't know if that was possible to do here.

-

Asta looked over, momentarily distracted by Pyr from her story as she watched him act up. She looked back over towards Farron and the princess and smiled. "He was having a bad day." She agreed. "It was the first time I've ever seen him frustrated and not composed. He couldn't get ANYTHING right." She explained with a giggle. "So then he tries again, and THIS time he turns poor Camulus into one of those crocodiles! I don't know if you've ever seen one of those things since they're not native to this area, but they're actually kind of scary."

Millicent was listening but not overly engaged in the conversation. In all honesty her throat hurt like hell still from all of the barfing she'd done in the last 24 hours. She couldn't remember the last time she was this ill.

She blinked as she saw Pyr erupt from the new log added. She was grateful for the added warmth, now a little more awake as she watched it. "I can't imagine Aleron getting flustered..." She admitted simply, her voice rough and a bit scratchy. ",,,and trust me. Crocs aren't pleasant creatures. I know that well." She mused, wrinkling her nose a little at the memory.

Roisin worked silently as she gathered everything she needed and turned back to them with a raised index finger.

"She's off to mix and master for ye," the stranger tacked on as he sniffed something he picked up off her counter. She smacked his hand lightly as she passed him, disappearing behind a curtain of beads into a dark back room. He smiled at her and set the little bottle back down. "And what sort of remittance have ye fine lads this fortuitous eve?"

-

Farron noticed the way Millicent perked a bit and whispered quietly to Pyr to calm him. Unwillingly he simmered back down to a low roar, clearly unhappy with her antics as he blew his heat toward Millicent and Randon and Asta, away from Farron.

"A crocodile? I'll bet yer dear steed enjoyed all that.... how did he come out of it in the end?"

Aleron nodded, glad to see that they were already getting somewhere and hopefully the antidote would be ready soon. The sooner they got back to the princess, the better. As the stranger asked for payment, he paused. "I can offer trade or can pay with currency, whichever the milady prefers." He offered up.

((I'm NOT going to lie, I had to look up that word. I was clueless as to what it meant. xD))

-

"He came out harmless! Aleron was finally able to put him right and he seemed well, but he didn't piss Aleron off again after that. So I guess it was a good thing." Asta mused with a smile. "And you've seen crocodiles before, Millicent? Where did you see one? Aren't they terrifying looking?!"
