Millicent blinked at the change in fire, smiling a little as the glitter of embers floated in the air. Nyss floated down then, settling on Millicent's shoulder. "Pyr seems te like ye lass...." She mused but Millicent just nodded, still uncertain about the little blue sprite. To realize she'd been with her the entire time?! She supposed this was what her father meant when she said her pendant was special... |

As Asta approached with Grey, Farron elbowed him in the neck gently as she started the process of tacking him up. It didn't take her but a few minutes and Grey was ready to go. The horse looked almost bored as Alek approached him, hand out for the horse to sniff. The horse just stared at him and bent down to grab another bite of thick, green grass. Farron patted Grey on the neck and held him steady as Alek walked around and mounted up, having no trouble getting onto the tall gelding. She held out the reins to him and nodded. "Gentle-like now. Fun as it would be t'see you get thrown... we have enough injuries goin' on around here." She shot a little smile to Asta and stepped back as Alek nudged Grey. The horse responded instantly, stamping his foot, but swinging around to face Aleron. "Are you ready," Alek called to the man. The horse under him was incredibly responsive... he'd barely touched him and he was turning. He wasn't used to that with the mindless horses they had at the Castle that Millicent made him ride when she had a mind to do so. - Pyr hummed and quieted to a low flame as Nyss reappeared near the princess. The pool of magma at the base of the camp fire glowed and moved, almost as if it were it's own mini-river. |

Aleron, who had already mounted his own steed, was sitting there, nose still buried in the book as he nodded. He currently had a small orb of light sitting near his shoulder to help him see as he stared over at Alek. With a last moment thought, he snapped his fingers and Alek's hair was normal once more. "Can't draw too much attention." He explained. |

"Works for me," Alek responded. That had worked out better than anticipated. The beast underneath him stamped impatiently, but Alek turned his eyes to the princess once more, wrapped in his cloak by the fire. Farron followed his eyes and nodded to him. "Ease your worries, Guardsman. She's as safe here as anywhere. Not a whim of harm'll come t'her. Now go, quickly. We haven't an idea of how much time we've left." She snapped twice and Grey pranced a bit. Alek nodded and glancing to Aleron, turned the beast and headed toward the city. |

Milicent watched the fire curiously, not comforted by Farron's words. She glanced up as she heard the horses go off before looking to the fire once more. Randon spoke up then, "Ye should get some rest, lass..." He told her then, looking over as she shook her head. "Milli..." "I'll be fine. They won't be gone long..." She told him, sounding both like she was both trying to convince herself and him. |

As they traveled towards the township, Aleron's eyes were glued to the book, looking for some sort of clue. What didn't leave a trace at all? Suddenly it hit him. Flipping through the pages towards the end, he smacked his finger down onto the page. "I've got it!" He declared excitedly. "The arrow was tipped in Bayroot." He informed Alek. "This is bad yet very good." |

"Go on," Alek said, his voice calm as he kept Grey at a slow lope. He wasn't wearing the horse down, but he wanted to get there. He wanted to get this over with. The longer he was away from the camp site meant the princess was in danger. If that archer, whoever he or she was, was still out there looking for them... He didn't, COULDN'T , think about that. He focused instead on the task at hand. Apothecary, cure, back. No distractions, no waylays, no confusion. It was straight forward and simple. |

"It's exceedingly rare and VERY expensive. It's not from this land but from somewhere overseas. Whoever our archer was, he's got friends in high places. It's slowly shutting down her body and if we don't get her an antidote soon enough, she's going to go into a coma. Fortunately there is an antidote, but we're going to have to hope that this apothecary is VERY well stocked." Aleron informed Alek. He had a couple of the ingredients if need be, but he didn't know if he had all of them. |

"Of course," Alek replied, listening very carefully to what Aleron was saying. He didn't even try to brush the man off; he was coming to understand the man knew what he was talking about and while Alek still didn't fully trust him, he was at least giving him a chance. "What are the chances of this apothecary being that well stocked," Alek asked as he kept focused on their path to the village. "Beyfield has grown, but it's a landlocked country village with only Mirid to supply it... Vallonde is our best bet, but it's too far away. On horseback with stops will take us at least a week or more to get there." |

"Well, the fact that Beyfield is a free city state that isn't really under the jurisdiction of any kingdom is a good thing." Aleron pointed out to him. "It being rather small and landlocked, however, is a point against it. A lot of the ones who take their research seriously though and aren't looking out to make a buck? You're going to find those in the smaller, bit more isolated towns. I'm going to assume that we have a 50/50 chance." He finally decided as he talked through it. He was pleasantly surprised to see Alek not arguing anything with him. Guess he was finally starting to use that brain that Aleron knew he had in there somewhere. Asta was watching the princess talk with Randon before deciding to join everyone at the fire rather shyly. She wasn't used to being around people without Aleron and it was really messing with her right now. She just wanted to run and hide with Camulus, but she knew that the Princess wasn't feeling too well and she hoping to help make her feel better. ((That's right, I'm making you socialize. Now go! *shoves Asta*)) |
