((CONGRATULATIONS FARRON! You have now nominated yourself to be Asta's best friend/idol. Everything you now do or say is automatically correct! xD))

Asta just followed after Farron, kicking at the ground every now and then before pausing and looking up as Farron offered to teach her. "Would you really?!" She asked her with large green eyes as she began to fidget excitedly and squirm.

Aleron sighed as he looked away from his book again and back up to Alek. "Have you ever dealt in poisons before, guardsman?" He asked him conversationally, not bothering to move just yet.

"Of course! I may be a blacksmith, but my Da made sure my sister and I were well versed in the combat arts. We had to be where we came from. I'm sure I know just the thing to teach you," Farron continued with a wave of her hand. "It's not all swords and shields, trust me. That's the easy part." She smiled at the girl before looking forward to see Alek standing tensely in front of Aleron.

-

"Does that particularly matter right now? Poisons are exactly that, poison, which means every wasted moment is a moment sooner to it claiming her. I'll be damned to the deepest rung of the hells before I allow a poison to take her." Alek stared back at Aleron determinedly, his jaw set.

Asta nodded, hanging on Farron's every word. "Do you really think that even I could defend myself? I mean... I'm so... little." She made a face as she spoke the word. "And I'm not exactly very strong." She tacked on, wondering if it was even possible.

-

"There are over a thousand known poisons in this world, and that's just the known ones. Approximately 300 of them are native to this part of the world. And about 200 of the known have the symptoms that our princess is showing." Aleron rattled off to Alek. "While I recommend you on your loyalty to the Princess, this is a process that takes time whether you like it or not, guardsman. Belittling my intelligence and distracting me from researching does not help our process any. I will accompany you to the town if that is what you wish, but I would ask you not to disrupt me again." And with that he stood up, nose still in his book, and headed over to his horse.

"Bah! If my girly, frilly, fluffy sister can put a man on his arse for gettin' fresh with her and NOT break one of her finely manicured nails, I assure you, sweet, you can do it a hundred times better," Farron assured her with a nod. "That bein' said... you start thinking about what sorts of things you want t'learn and I'll start meandering through my styles t'see which I think would be best." She smiled briefly at the girl and walked up to Alek with her hands on her hips. "How goes it, Guardsman Cupcake?"

Alek was sour still from Aleron's know-it-all remark when Farron came up and alluded to the fact of his still very-pink hair. He glared over at her and she just smirked and tilted her head, daring him to say something crass at her.

"....We're leaving to go to the city. May I borrow your horse?"

"Hrmm..." Farron thought, reaching up to tap her chin with her index finger. "I s'pose, though Grey's picky about his riders. Don't be harsh with him or he'll buck you off."

"I'm not concerned," Alek informed her as he watched her head over to her horse.

"Asta, dear, mind helping me with this?" She waved her hand for Asta to go grab Grey, who was grazing lazily a few feet away, while Farron grabbed his tack. "You'll be concerned when you've a broken arse bone and then some. You'll heed my words if'n you've half a mind."

"Well... I mean, if you REALLY think so." Asta trailed off, suddenly very excited as she allowed Farron to get her hopes up. Maybe this could work out and she COULD do this. It was enough that she hoped that Farron and Randon traveled with them for a little longer. She really, really liked Farron.

"Of course! And I'll think on it. What you want me to that is." Asta said with a nod as she trailed off after the woman towards her horse, having to bite her lip to keep from giggling as she ran across Alek with his pink hair. "You know... maybe if you asked Aleron nicely, he'd switch it back for you." She offered up quietly to the guardsman before scampering off after Farron's horse Grey.

"Hey there, big guy." She cooed as she walked up to the horse as he was grazing. She ran her fingers through his mane as she smiled up at him. "If I sneak you a couple of apples later, do you think you could be a fine upstanding horse gentleman and help us out right now?" She asked him.

"I doubt it at this point," was Alek's response to Asta as she bolted off. Strange girl, that one. "Anyway... all right I understand. Be nice, don't kick, so on and so forth."

Farron heaved the saddle up and waited for Asta to bring Grey over. "Exactly, Guardsman, or you'll be in more pain than you care to imagine."

Grey looked over at Asta lazily, his blue eyes resting on her as he chewed his mouthful of grass. He turned his head back, as if to nip at her, but instead, just blew a huff of air at her and started snuffling at her pockets, apparently assuming her promise of apples was going to happen right now.

Millicent by this point had quietly made her way over to Nightshade where her bags were nearby. She grabbed the cloak and one other blanket to sit on before finally sitting by the fire. She blinked as she looked up, having the cloak removed from her hands. She smiled a little as Randon helped wrap it around her shoulders. "Thanks...Goddess you and Alek did quite a number on each other..." She observed as he sat down.

He just chuckled lightly with a shrug, "How ye holdin' up?"

"Um...I'm alright..." She told him simply, pulling the cloak closer around her with shaky hands. Randon quirked a skeptical eyebrow but didn't comment, letting her be for the moment as the others sorted everything out.

Asta giggled as she wrapped her arms around Grey's neck and patted and rubbed, making sure to get that one spot under the mane near the ear that every horse liked. "I've got my own sneak thief thank you! You really think I'd bring them with me now?" She demanded with a laugh. "I promise to get them to you and maybe a carrot or two. But you have to allow the guardsman to ride on your back into town. He's already promised to be on his best behaviour." She promised him, talking to the horse more as if he was a human instead of a mindless animal.

As Millicent settled near the fire, it seemed to grow for her, more warmth being pushed out directly toward her. It hissed and crackled, sending a shower of harmless, glittering sparks up into the air.

-

Grey huffed again and leaned into her scratch as she caught that perfect spot. He eventually pulled back and shook his great head before nudging Asta along as he turned himself around to head toward the waiting Farron and Alek.

Asta giggled again as he nudged her. "Okay, let's go. Thank you so much. You really are a sweetie." She declared as she patted him one last time before walking over towards Farron and Alek with Grey.
