As Farron walked over towards the woods and got closer to Asta, she would hear a familiar voice.

"No you big lug, don't do that. NO! No no no don't you dareeeee!" The last part ended in a squeal as a rather loud thump was heard and Asta's squeal was cut off. Once Farron moved closer so she could see, she would notice one thing. Asta laying on the ground with her chin propped in her hands, a most unamused expression on her face as her rather large horse sat on top of her. Camulus whinnied and it really could have been taken as a laugh. The horse wasn't really putting all of its weight on her, less he squish her, but it was still a rather comical sight to behold.

Millicent nodded as well, resting her head back against the tree as he spoke. She smiled a little at the mention of his grandparents but she wasn't sure she should push the subject. She knew that look in his eyes. "I trust your judgement on this." She told him honestly. She knew she'd be floundering if not worse if she was out on her own. "I'll just be happy when I see you get some sleep..." She added simply, knowing he put on a bold face but he couldn't keep going like this.

What was weird, though, was the thought of sleeping on her own. She'd always had a bedfellow or at least Leila sleeping nearby. The current situation was reminiscent of the latter so it hadn't bothered her much. It was a bridge she'd cross later, though, When she didn't feel like she was on fire.

Farron raised an eyebrow as she witnessed the scene in front of her. A huge beast was.... sitting... on a tiny girl, much like an older brother would do to a younger sibling. She could handle that... but the horse's overly human qualities threw Farron for a loop.

"Er, do I need t'come back later?" she asked as she walked through the trees, announcing her presence rather than assuming the horse and girl would figure her out.

"I told you, sleep isn't overly important for me right now. Getting you to safety is. If I don't sleep for months, it'd be worth it to know I've protected you," Alek told her with a firm nod. Never mind how exhausted he was. His body was fine, still strong, but his mind was weakening and that's what needed to be sharp with. Beyfield was just a night away... and hopefully there he would feel safe enough to sleep around these people.

Doubtful though.

"I'm going to go see how Aleron is doing with his book... and then I will likely leave to go to the apothecary. I need you to stay safe while I'm gone," he added on with a quiet voice.

Millicent nodded, thinking it over for a moment before looking back up at him. Last thing she wanted, honestly, was to know he was torturing himself to keep her safe. She kept quiet, though, knowing arguing it was useless. "I'll be fine, Alek." She assured him with a small smile, pausing for another moment. Before she could stop herself the words came out, "What if you stayed with me once we got to Beyfeild?" She asked, the waning light helping cover the pink in her cheeks. "I mean...I know you don't feel comfortable around the others, you want to ensure my safety...I want to make sure you actually sleep...." she trailed off, finally able to meet his eyes. Hers were full of concern and worry. Not for herself, but for him. Despite how awkward the offer was...it was sincere. She wanted comfort for both of them, not just herself.

Alek was just starting to stand when the offer came out of her mouth. "Ahhh..." was his initial response, mostly because it was precisely what he was thinking. It took him rather off guard. "I, well.. I mean... You're... you probably... what?" He just sort of stood there, unsure of how to follow up after that. He reached up and scratched the back of his neck, running his hand back and forth through his still-bright-pink hair.

Asta growled at Camulus as the horse merely flicked its tail in contentment before looking over as she heard Farron's voice. "Get off me, you stupid lug." She wriggled under the horse until it finally stood up and got off her without somehow managing to squash her. Standing up, she brushed her hands off on her dusty leather pants. "No, no. He's just being dumb. He won't let me braid his mane. Did you need something?" She asked her.

Millicent tilted her head a little, "Do you think its a bad idea?" She asked, tucking some of her wild red hair behind her ear. "I just thought it was... well, the best option. I.." She hesitated, wondering vaguely how pathetic she'd sound but her nerves took control of her words. "I've never slept on me own before and...and I'd feel much more at ease with you there than one of the others?" She admitted, in the back of her mind thinking maybe if she made it about her nerves he'd be more easily ready to agree. He always seemed to go out of his way to make sure she felt better...

If him agreeing didn't mean admitting his own...insecurities, for lack of a better word, maybe he'd actually agree to her idea.

Farron couldn't help it, she had to laugh at Asta's explanation of the situation. "Your horse sat on yeh because he wouldn't let yeh braid his mane?" She smiled at Asta, shaking her head. "That's.... well, that is a first. Whenever I was training the foals, if they didn't want me to do something, they'd just snap at me." She folded her arms across her chest. "I actually wanted yer help getting the horses ready... I think the guardsman and your brother are off t'Beyfield early due t'the fact of the princess' condition not getting any better."

"No, I... I mean, I understand," Alek corrected quickly, catching his slack-jawed look as quickly as it had appeared. "I know that you've always had someone there, but... I just... I mean, I guess if..." He trailed off, not liking the way this was coming out at all.

He let out a short breath and just nodded. "Okay." He left it at that. It was nothing unusual and he had no idea why he was making it unusual. She was a princess which meant she always, always had someone nearby, day and night, and had always had someone for the entirety of her life.

"Nah, he doesn't snap at me. Unless he's hungry and wants to be a pain. He sat on me because I tried to tackle him down to the ground and restrain him long enough so I could do it, but he wasn't having any of that. Sucks to be little, you know?" Asta spoke to Farron as if this was all completely normal. At her request, she nodded and sent the woman a smile. She REALLY liked Farron. In fact, she really liked both her and the Princess. It was so nice to see women who didn't let men run their lives and did what they wanted. They were so independent and strong and she wanted to be just like them. "Sure. I can get them ready no problem. How is the Princess? I mean, she's okay right?" She asked her curiously as she patted her horse on the chest to get him moving back towards camp.

Millicent wanted to laugh but she bit it back as he stammered, mainly because he looked kind of funny stammering with pink hair. "Okay." She repeated with a small, relieved smile. She leaned forward before he moved away, taking a corner of the cloth and wiping the dried blood from his cheek. It had been bugging her since he'd walked over. "There. Now...remember. Be nice to Aleron, else you may have to go to town with pink hair." She reminded him as she leaned back against the tree, feeling ridiculously tired all of a sudden. Maybe she'd be able to take a light nap...but something told her Aleron and the others would be against it.
