The little boy was sitting in the dust at her feet, pouting withi his arms folded, his blue eyes watery and glassy as he snuffled over not getting his way. Farron didn't seem to notice his tantrum.

"I would suggest rethinking that choice... it's been a bit lacking in refinement since a group of thugs moved into town. Might I suggest the Gilted Fiddle? Just a few blocks down Smithy Row -- tell 'em you're a family friend of Caius Black and you'll get a suite for a steal," she suggested, really not entirely sure why she was offering this to a traveler. Maybe it was because he was handsome and seemed to have unseasonably good manners. Yes, that was very likely it.

Aleron paused before smiling. "Thank you kindly." He thanked her, glad to be warned ahead of time, and for her generous offer. He looked like he was going to say more before he let his eyes widen. Oh shit, Asta and a group of thugs?! Not a good combination. "Thank you again once more. And this will be ready noon tomorrow, yes? Don't want to forget." He said.

Farron nodded as she headed back toward the storeroom, the toddler stubbornly crawling along behind her. "I need a name- you're not my only customer, traveler. Any name will do, no need to tell me your real if it doesn't suit you," she said as she disappeared from view, obviously still able to hear.

Aleron was in a hurry as he made his way towards the door. So when he spoke up, he used his real one instead of his fake one. "Aleron Jacobson. Have a nice day lady smith!" He told her before darting out of the forge and towards his horse. Most people wouldn't be too concerned or scared but... but this was Asta. Asta was not an ordinary person and things could go seriously wrong with her within minutes. Anything could have happened between now and when he left her.

Farron looked down as Jareth whined at her and gnawed on the paw of his dirty bear. "..Aleron Jacobson," she repeated, bending down in front of her little brother. "What a cutie... and I don't mean you, annoyance," she said to Jareth as she stood back up, brushing some mud of Jareth's cheek and began gathering up materials for Aleron Jacobson's order.

Randon nodded knowingly as she explained, “Not you I’m worried about…except you falling on your face that is.” He said simply, taking another hunk of apple and nodding his head down the alley. “The hotel ye brotha picked ain’t the best place, to be plain. A lot of unsavory lot that’s there. You sure he said “sleeping boar”? You ever been this way?” He asked her simply, pulling her a bit to the side to avoid a gaggle of children running through.

----

Millicent shook her head a bit, “If you’re going to lie to me, m’lord, at least make it more convincing. Reading isn’t something to be ashamed of.” She said simply as she tucked the book under her arm, ignoring the people up against the window. If she looked up she’d turn red again and become ridiculously awkward. She smiled as the old shop keeper came up.

“Princess, are you finding everything alright?” He asked her with a kind smile, the smile growing as she nodded with a small smile of her own.

“I’m good, Alfred. Say…were you able to find the book I inquired about?”

“Yes, it is waiting at the desk for you whenever you’re ready.” He assured her, glancing to Alek before looking back to her with the same smile. “I’m curious as to why you would need a book on runes…”

Millicent laughed softly, “It is part of my studies. Don’t know when I’ll ever use it…” She gave a light shrug, lying smoothly through her teeth. She smiled as he walked off, distracted by another customer. She picked up a few more titles before her eyes landed on a beautiful, leather journal. She couldn’t deny it was gorgeous.

Asta flinched as Randon grabbed her arm to move her out of the way. She immediately tried to snatch her arm out of his grasp without looking too rude. "I'm positive that's what he said. He was here years ago and said that it was just fine then." She told him, knowing that she'd believe her cousin over anybody else. Of course... Randon didn't seem to mean her harm, but appearances were deceiving.

Relief flooded through Alek as he saw the elder shopkeep and not the younger, much more female one that always seemed to be conveniently working when he was here. Sera. He visibly relaxed a fractional amount as Millcent milled about, looking at all the books.

Alek followed along behind her obediently, his eyes mostly on the faces through the windows. He was in no rush to go back outside when she seemed momentarily distracted by something.

"What did you find, my Lady?" he asked nonchalantly, sounding mildly distracted by the commotion outside.

"Aye lass but many things change over a few years time..." Randon said simply, tossing what little was left of the apple into a nearby bin. "I know ye can take care of yerself but honestly I think it best if I wait with ye outside the inn. With your track record I'd say kidnapping victim wouldn't be far off." He mused with a light shrug as they came into view of the Inn. Unsavory was a kind way of putting the folk hanging out around the building....

Asta scrunched up her face at his words as she shook her head, white blonde hair flying around her face as she did so. "I'd be a terrible kidnapping victim. They'd have too many problems and would probably dump me in a ditch somewhere." She sighed at the thought. As they approached the inn, she was beginning to see, with a sinking stomach, that Randon was right. It didn't look very savory at all. Yay.
