Millicent let out a light groan, she really didn't want to complain but she felt as if these dizzy spells were going to get much worse she wouldn't be staying on the horse much longer anyway. Her leg was killing her and she was pretty sure she was useless against a fall. "Alek...please..." She said simply, going to sit up when a particularly bad spell hit her and she let out an inadvertent gasp as she gripped the saddle and closed her eyes.

Counting to ten she let out a slow breath before opening her eyes and slowly leaning back once more. "Alek, we'll take turns keeping watch. We can't keep going like this. It is insane. Besides, you really want to show up in Beyfeild under the cover of night?" She asked him, her voice tired but skeptical. That was the last way to make a non-suspicious entrance.

-------

Randon made a face at her before thinking it over and reluctantly sighing and nodding finally. "Yeah we're not going to get much do---" He heard a voice not far off, hand on the hilt of his blade as he steadied his mare. Who the bloody hell would be out this late!?

"We could all use a quick stop, and she's right. It's best to approach during the day. I can set up extra sentries if needed for a safety precaution." Aleron informed Alek, stepping his horse in front of Asta in Camulus to keep his cousin from saying or doing something to Alek they would all regret.

It wouldn't have been Aleron's rationale or Asta's whining that swayed Alek... but the fact that Millicent was so close and she sounded so miserable was what stopped him.

He could practically SEE the path to Bayfield and it was nagging him, pulling on his conscious mind, but he had to snap the ropes that were leading them to safety. They had to stop.

He sighed and nodded, steering Nightshade to a cluster of particularly dense trees. They'd been out on the plains for the majority of the day, but the forests of their country were never far off.

When they arrived he slid down and waited for Millicent to gather herself up so he could assist her down. "We can't stay the entire night... we still have another day's ride to Beyfield," he instructed them all, effectively destroying any hope they had of getting a good, solid rest tonight.

--

Farron heard the voice, which steadily became voices, too. She gave a look to Randon that expressed 'what the hell?'. Her handaxe was belted to her saddle and she reached down for it, ready to rip it out and brandish it if need be.

It was then that she felt Pyr's intense heat against her skin, glowing brightly and like a beacon in the darkness. She frowned and tried to push him further down her shirt, but he was insistent, apparently reaching out to something. She could feel his energy twisting in the jewel restlessly.

Millicent nodded, ready to agree to anything at this point. "I just want to sit...or lay. Just not ride." She told him simply, wincing as she let him help her down. She kept her weight off of her bad leg as best she could, unable to keep from leaning the majority of her weight on Alek. She was exhausted, dizzy, sore... Kisha nuzzled against her, obviously going to stick by her master for the night despite Alek's continued presence.

---

Randon shrugged in disbelief, not even bothering to ask why her shirt was glowing. Half because he'd get smacked and half because he didn't want to risk giving them away. From what he was able to hear they were just weary travelers like themselves but...last thing he wanted to be right a this moment was trusting.

Aleron's sharp eyes looked over at Millicent and his eyes narrowed slightly. She should be feeling better, not as weak as she did. "Are you well, Millicent?" He asked her, just sounding curious, hoping that Alek would get the hint. The guardsman may not listen to him or Asta, but if he knew that Millicent was feeling unwell, he'd stop in a heartbeat.

Millicent wanted to make a face as Aleron called her out. Then again, she figured she wasn't hiding it overly well. She'd have to work on that. "I'm okay. Just...just tired and a little dizzy. I think my system is just rocked and some rest will do me well..." She tried to assure him with a small smile and a weak shrug.

She blinked as Kisha suddenly became alert, haunches raising a bit as she looked to the woods. "Kisha....Ki stop it." Millicent hissed. Last thing she needed was Kisha attacking some random person, or worse, another guard.

Alek glanced down at Millicent and frowned a little. It wasn't as though he hadn't noticed... he'd just assumed it was a direct result of all that had happened over the past day and a half. Of course she would be a little out of sync... he hadn't considered it a problem and wasn't about to start now.

"We're going to rest," he assured Millicent, shooting a glare at the dog. That's all it did was growl and glower and pull back it's gums to show it's fangs. "Can you calm her down," he said of Kisha. If it was other travelers or worse, he didn't need the damn dog drawing them right over.

--

Farron glanced over at Randon and her look said it all. Should we check it out? She already knew the answer, but she felt even less comfortable knowing someone, or someoneS were just around the corner. What if they were bandits or worse yet, guards out looking for them?

They needed to do something even if it was to continue onward. She was getting a little annoyed by the vibrations and the constant stream of heat Pyr was putting out, but there wasn't anything she could do to stop him. She wondered why he was so active all the sudden... he'd been absolutely mum since she'd left the handsome traveler at the stables.

Kisha looked back at him and snarled, showcasing the piece of bloody uniform fabric caught behind her canine. She only tolerated the others because Millicent did. The moment one of them went after her....

"She's a wild animal protecting me." Millicent pointed out before sighing, letting out a soft, short whistle. Kisha reluctantly coming back to her side. She placed her hand on her head, calming her for the moment.

------------

Randon hesitated a moment before nodding, slipping off his made silently and moving towards the brush separating the two groups. Despite his goofy nature there was a reason he was a top theif. He was absolutely silent. He caught sight of the group, eyes scanning before catching Asta and her brother. Aleron? Yeah that was it. He nearly chuckled, waving Farron forward and holding up 4 fingers to indicate the group size. Oye...this would be interesting.

"Do you want me to see if my eyes can tell us anything?" Aleron asked Alek, knowing he could send out some sprites or woodland creatures to gather information for them. If they were lucky (which he was hoping they were) then it would just be some more travelers passing through.

Alek just stared at the dog and took a few steps away, figuring if Millicent really wanted it around that badly, he could give her the space.

At Aleron's offer, Alek shook his head. "No. It's not necessary... I'm sure it's just other people out. If it were anything else we'd already be fighting for our lives." He was unwilling to use magick to solve their problems...especially considering it was magick that had him here in the first place.

Farron hopped off Grey as well, not having quite the grace that Randon showed when he was actually trying. Not that she particularly cared...she was a blacksmith, not a dancer. Grace and beauty had never been her core attributes.

She creaked over to Randon and peered through the bushes where he was looking. Almost instantly, she recognized the handsome traveler. As if she could forget!

She clapped Randon on the shoulder and barreled through the bushes. "Well, well, are you following me, Traveler?" She placed her hands on her hips, her extremely light eyes catching the moonlight and giving off an otherwordly glow... or maybe that was just the yellow-orange light coming from beneath her shirt.

Alek was immediately reaching for his weapon the moment he heard the brushes snap and a person came striding out from them. He paused, blade halfway from the sheath when he saw it was a woman, a tall woman. A woman that looked vaguely familiar somehow...
