"At least you've never set fire to a stone building before, Milady." Asta pointed out to her. "I would LOVE to be a princess. I bet when you're queen people never question your judgement and you'll actually be respected by people. You're already respected now. People don't look at YOU like you're stupid." She argued with her. |

Millicent couldn't help but laugh, "No but I did manage to turn a horse into a mouse..." She mused, "and set fire to a couple of priceless pieces..." She added, shaking her head a bit. "No trust me, they do still look at me that way. Many believe a princess is only good to hang on the arm of a prince. To be seen and admired but not heard. Its not as much fun as the fairy tales make it..." She shrugged, coming terms to the reality a while ago. "Most, if not all, of the men who came to court me only wanted to make sure I was pretty and then were only interested in my title. Nothing more. No...sorry...last one schemed with my step father about an arranged marriage and gods know what else." |

Asta felt her eyes widen as she looked over at the princess as she explained what she had down. Maybe she didn't feel so bad now... "Did you ever find the horse?" She asked her curiously with a shy smile, suddenly feeling a bit let down when Millicent explained that being a princess wasn't quite what she had imagined. "And men are stupid. I'm just saying." |

Alek quirked an eyebrow at Asta's comment about men. Of course, she couldn't see it since his back was to her, but... he just couldn't help but think this girl was....strange. A little depressing and different. He kept his comments to himself though and instead, just kept leading them down the forest path, listening keenly for any sign of company. |

Millicent shook her head, "No...I tried but...the stable keeper was convinced someone stole the horse so I let it lay." She admitted, rubbing the back of her head awkwardly. She chuckled with a nod. "They are. Well....the vast majority are. I would hope we are traveling with exceptions..." She mused, a light teasing in her voice as she nudged Alek lightly. |

"I can't speak for .." Alek paused. Name... what was his name? Al-something. "Aleron," he said as it came to him, "But I for one am happy to say that I'm not an exception." His voice was monotone as usual, but the way he shied away from her nudge indicated he was very likely joking. Maybe. It was always so hard to tell with him. |

"Well personally I think-" "I think that is something we will just have to wait and see." Aleron quickly interrupted Asta, not wanting her to piss off their guide. He knew how she was and knew what she was about to say was NOT going to be pleasant. Alek already didn't trust them, he didn't want to make it worst. |

Millicent rolled her eyes at him, "Then maybe you shouldn't be guiding..." She teased, only being able to tell he'd been joking around by his reaction to her nudge. She was used to having to read him carefully for hints. She looked back to Asta and Aleron with a small laugh. "I guess we'll have to see indeed..." She agreed. She rested her head against Alek's shoulder as they rode along which alone showed how much she trusted him. Or how tired she was. Her eyes scanned along the trees, watching the birds as they flew along. She blinked, lifting her head slightly as a small sparrow landed on her shoulder. Ah bollux... She was trying too hard to relax and her control slipped. "Ummm....hi?" She blinked as the bird chirped along, as if trying to tell her something. |

Alek wondered for a moment what Aleron was so abrutply cutting off, but he didn't let it concern him. He had far more important things to worry about than the thoughts of a little blonde stranger. Eyes still forward, Alek raised an eyebrow. "Who are you talking to, Millicent," he asked at her random hello. |

Aleron let out a silent breath as they narrowly escaped that fiasco. Once you got Asta going, it was hard to get her to stop sometimes. He was content to ride in silence, still having not removed his crown of flowers from his head which made Asta happy. He looked over as the bird greeted Millicent and smiled. Ahh, perfect first lesson. "You should try and learn beast tongue. It's a great gift to start off with. Animals are always wonderful sources of information." He informed her. |
