Millicent nodded as she took a bite of her own sandwich, giving him a brief look when he said he'd walk if needed. "I agree, the quicker we leave here the better. The sun is out fully and it won't be long until my father's pawns are out again." She said as simply as she could, ignoring the knots in her stomach.

"I just have to coax Nightshade out and then we'll be good to go..." She added, holding up the apple as she glanced to the steed. He'd begun pacing the cavern, trying to get out but each time he'd get sprayed with water he'd sputter and move back. Millicent sighed with a slight laugh, shaking her head a little bit.

Alek watched the horse with a stoic expression as he ate his sandwich. "What kind of horse is afraid of water," he asked calmly, wondering what spooked the beast so much about it. "At this rate, we're might as well set up shop in here.... we can have a live in horse and wolf. Why not? What a happy little family," he commented as he leaned against the cave wall, watching Millicent try to coax her beast.

Millicent looked over at him in surprise - was he actually joking around? She let out a small laugh, taking the steed's reigns in her hands as she coaxed him. "I rescued him from a stream as a foul. He's been skiddish since...and you actually want to stay with Kisha?" She asked skeptically, seeing how he tensed around the wolf.

It was slow going but she finally managed to coax the beast out, he didn't look happy about being damp though. Millicent chuckled and rewarded him with his apple, biting into her sandwhich contently. Maybe...maybe things would start getting easier....

"No, not particularly. Not fond of canines in general," Alek added on as he stayed back and let her work. When she finally got the beast out of the cave, he glanced uneasily at the dog as he went over and picked up his pack and followed them out into the warm sunshine.

It was already promising to be a hot day... but at least he was out of the armor. "Well, if we're going to do this," he said, looking at Aleron and Asta warily, "we need to get moving now. The Guard will have been out for an hour at least by now. We need to stay in the forest as long as possible as we make our way west."

Aleron was sitting and waiting patiently for the princess and her guard to emerge while Asta made a crown of flowers out of the ones that Millicent bloomed in her upset wake. They both looked up as everyone emerged, Aleron standing up as Alek spoke.

"Of course." He agreed with him as he walked over and offered Asta a hand up which she took. Then with a grin, she placed the flower crown on his head as he just sighed and left it there, figuring their was no point in arguing. "I know quite a few back roads and trails we can take through the forest and such to get to Beyfield if you're interested?" He asked Alek.

Millicent nodded, staying quiet as she pulled her hair back into a braid while holding the sandwhich between her teeth. If she ever looked less like a princess... She vaguely wondered who would be in front on the horse as she pulled a ribbon from her bag. She figured it would be Alek and honestly she was fine with that. Last night had kinda cured her for a little while. Finally she swallowed her mouthful and smiled with a small nod." Sounds good to me. I hope you don't mind Kisha tagging along." She said simply, looking to Aleron and Asta then as Kisha sat dutifully at her side.

Alek looked over at Aleron with the crown on his head and found it very hard to take the man seriously. The blonde girl beside him... he wondered absently if she was simple. Falling into pools, making flower crowns? ((!? ALEK!!!))

"I know plenty of ways myself," he said, not overly imposing, but clearly not ready to place Aleron in any sort of situation where he was in charge. "I can get us where we need to go without being seen, I assure you."

He glanced uneasily at the canine, wanting more than anything to ask why it was necessary it came along. Instead though, he merely kept his mouth shut, not wanting to upset Millicent any further. She was in a delicate state at the moment and didn't want to push his luck.

Kisha simply turned her nose up at Alek, as if to say Millicent was her's. Not his. Millicent just caught Asta's gaze and rolled her eyes mouthing 'men'. But let the two of them figure it out. She trusted Alek's sense of direction but Aleron had obviously useful abilities. Did working together really seem that bad?

((Don't piss Asta off Alek. It's probably not a good idea. xD))

Aleron nodded as he waved his hand. "Of course, lead the way." He told the man genially. The last thing he wanted to do was make it feel like he was imposing or trying to take control. He wanted the both of them to be as comfortable with his presence as possible because it would make everyone's lives easier.

"I have no qualms with you wishing to have your friend near, Millicent." Aleron addressed the princess with a kind smile. "If I can put up with Asta's horse, I certainly won't mind a wolf."

"HEY! There's nothing wrong with Camulus. Everyone just unfairly judges him." Asta walked over and petted the large stallion who just huffed and went back to eating grass.

Alek stared at the wolf, his lip twitching a bit. Eugh. He shook his head and looked over at Millicent. He was glad that Aleron wasn't trying to step in... but it didn't mean he trusted him in any way. "Shall we then? How would you prefer to do this?"
