Millicent felt the eyes on her and simply pulled her hood back up. "I should've been more aware." She told him simply, "I am fine, thanks to you. Just a little startled is all." She promised, going to move on when she found a little boy in her path. "Um....hello." He gave her a shy smile, holding up a flower. "Mummy said its for you, princess." He is told her, his voice shaky with nerves. Millicent gave a small smile as she squatted slightly, knowing whatever cover she had was now blown. "Well tell your mum thank you very much." She told him in her soft voice, subtly slipping a coin in to the young boys hand as she took the flower and stood back up. She watched with a quiet laugh as he scampered off happily, looking to Alek then with a nod so they could continue on. She twirled the flower around in her hands, not noticing as she did it bloomed back to full life slowly as they walked. She would never get used to all the attention, that she was sure of. |

With her status now revealed to the public, Alek had to be twice as vigilant as before. He watched the little boy with sharp eyes; he'd seen pickpocket gangs work in groups, using small children as distractions before. He maintained a close distance with the princess, as five minutes into their market visit, her life had been on danger. Maybe he wasn't very good at this. When she stood back up, he offered a nod back and allowed her to walk first. He could already see people making a conscious effort to stop what they were doing to come see their princess. It wasn't as if the royal family were secluded from their subjects, but it was always a wonderful day if you had a royal sighting to talk about at the nightly drinking hole. Alek's eyes passed over the shop doors as they walked, lingering momentarily longer on the book seller. He hadn't been able to get away from the guard's quarters lately to stop in. Reading was his hidden passion, something his father and brother frowned upon as superfluous and time-wasting. Alek considered it another form of training. He remained silent as they continued forward, his attentions now fully back on the situation. |

Millicent paused outside the bookshop, a title catching her eyes. One of fairy tales to possibly keep her from reading the same story, again, to her sister. She looked to Alek with a small smile, "Come on..." She mused, leading him into the quiet shop. The shop was quiet as it usually was, only a few people milling around at this hour. She lowered her hood as she walked around, glancing to Alek now and again. She knew from experience he'd be ridiculously on guard now. "Do you enjoy reading?" She asked him simply, flipping through the story book she'd seen in the window but looking more at him than its pages.

Aleron chuckled as the little boy through it again before smiling over at Farron. "Seems like it's a common trap he sets, huh?" He asked before bowing respectfully real quick. "I'll come back noon time tomorrow to see where you've gotten." He told her before heading back the other way, curious as to if whether Asta had made it to the inn or not. - Asta just stared at Randon in disbelief, not knowing whether to strangle him or actually be thankful he was being so nice. There had to be an ulterior motive, right? She really couldn't tell with that blasted smirk. Before she could make a decision, Camulos shoved his brute frame in, stomping in front of Randon to get him to back off. It almost made her smile. Almost. "Camulos." She chided as he nickered. "Now." She said as he whined and she propped her hand on her cocked hip and stared at the large beast. He finally backed off, acting much like a scolded child and she looked over at Randon. "Lead the way." She made a motion with her hand for him to lead. |

Randon huffed silently as the horse interfered again. He grabbed another apple before nodding and giving Asta a grin. "Then follow me miss Anna." He mused, biting a chunk out of it as they walked. He held the notion she'd lied about her name but that was fine. If she wanted to keep her secrets fine; it only made him that much more curious about her. "So lass, what brings he through here?" He asked simply, staying beside her as they weaved through the crowd. Half to make sure she didn't get lost, half to ensure she didn't get into more trouble. |

"We're just passing through. My brother and I are heading for the coast." Asta told him vaguely, her eyes glued onto the streets, curious as to what she would find. Cities had always interested her. While she couldn't stay on the crowded streets for long, she enjoyed how different it was from her small village. As they passed onto another street, she stumbled once more, showing that her earlier trip was not just an accident. She truly did seem to be danger prone. Hey, at least she hadn't accidentally burned down anything yet. |

Randon nodded as she explained, feeling his arms tense as she tripped again despite watching the ground as she walked. Ugh this girl was going to have him on edge. He took another bite as he walked with her, swallowing the chunk of apple before speaking again. "Coast is gorgeous this time of year." He agreed, keeping half a glance on the town guards but his body language was fully relaxed. "So your brother just dropped you in the middle of a new town then?" He asked simply, not condescending but curious by the move. To leave a pretty girl in the middle of a new city was just asking for trouble. Even if they weren't as accident prone. |

"Yep." Asta replied, tripping again, but recovering more smoothly this time. "He expected me to go straight to the inn, but I never do. It's his way of letting him know that he trusts me." Knowing that Randon would understand where this was coming from. As much as leaving her to her own devices drover Aleron crazy sometimes, he let her do her own thing because it was what she needed. |

Alek's jaw tensed as Millicent went into the bookstore. It was the one place he didn't particularly want to be at the moment...and yet it was exactly where he wanted to go. With any luck, it wouldn't be her working today. He stepped up into the store behind the princess, quickly scanning the room. Books were stuffed into every open space on the walls, on shelves, piled on the floor.... anywhere they could be, they were. There were a few patrons who murmured quietly when the princess dropped her hood. He stayed close to Millicent, resisting the urge to go wander away to the section he more preferred. This wasn't his off time. "Hm?" He heard the tail end of her question as he brought his gaze back to her. "Books? My father and brother tell me they're useless and a waste of time. If I aspire to do anything with my life, I'm not to be wasting my free time reading," he said non-committally, his gaze filtering over to the window they were standing in front of. Why were there people's faces pressed against the glass? He slid past the princess and moved closer to the window, waving them away. -- Farron nodded as her littlest brother squeaked and squirmed for his bear. Aleron was nearly out of the forge's archway when she put the little boy down and called after him, "Where are you staying while in town, traveler?" Edited by mallyapple19, Jun 16 2014, 11:29 PM.

Aleron paused as he heard Farron speak, turning his head over his shoulder to look at her. "The Sleeping Boar." He informed her. "I've been through before and it had decent rooms for a decent price." He didn't know why he added, but he felt like he needed an explanation for his choice. |
