Millicent blinked, whipping her head around at Alek. "Put that bloody thing away before you hurt someone. Namely yourself..." She told him as she rolled her eyes and looked to Aleron with an apologetic smile. "Sorry about him..." She stood then, walking over to Alek obviously unharmed. She rested her hands loosely on her waist. "Come now, Alek...really?"

Aleron nodded as Millicent discussed their plans, about to comment upon them and maybe offer a safer road to travel when Alek stumbled out. There was a startled squeak and then a splash and Asta fell into the pool of water and Aleron sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Good morning, guardsman." He offered before walking over to where Asta was to help her out of the water, reaching down and grabbing her hand and pulled her out.

"Well don't ye look...less dusty." Randon teased her simply, munching on some kind of sandwich as he waited by a tree nearby. Both horses packed, watered, fed and ready to go. He tossed her another wrapped parcel, a sandwhich like his own within. "Let's go, princess!" He mused as he hopped up onto his mare easily and waited for her.

Alek winced, but his eyes had adjusted to the sight of Millicent standing in front of him, giving him a look he imagined a mother would give a rowdy child. He didn't much appreciate that. His sword lowered as he blinked a few more times, the whole picture coming into view. Those two strangers from the forest yesterday....

"You kept it....and you used it," he said sounding incredulous. "Millicent, I said last night that I would think about it. Why did you do this....?" Did she have no self-preservation? That thing could have been anything....a tracking device, even. These people, they could be spies, assassins, informants. Alek didn't believe in coincidence, never had. Everything happened for a purpose. The Gods saw to that...which meant that meeting these two the other day hadn't been by chance... and that meant they were here for a reason. Good or evil had yet to be revealed.

"Oh-o, good boy!" Farron caught the parcel and tucked it into her satchel as she walked up to Grey, who nuzzled her familiarly. She attached her satchel to his saddle and "Look at you, being so crafty and whatnot. I underestimate you, Randon Millson. Though not without good cause." She pulled herself up onto Grey and patted his neck as she took up her reins. "Well, I suppose we ought be off. To Beyfield then."

She turned Grey in a tight circle, her eyes traveling back in the direction of the city. It was no longer visible, but she knew where it was and exactly how to get back home. It made her uneasy to think she was turning her back on her entire family... but there was nothing to be done.

She clicked her tongue and with a nudge to Grey, started off a comfortable lope, putting everything behind her for now. A warmth pressed against the skin of her chest under her shirt and she sighed heavily.

Millicent winced as she heard Asta fall into the water, going to ask if she was okay when Alek started in with her. "Yes. Yes I did, Alek. You also asked how you could help me. Guess what, trusting my judgement is a part of that. Alek....what else was I supposed to do? Just hope I don't have another episode?! Hope I don't hurt you again?!" She demanded of him though her voice never rose in volume. "You never meant it when you said you'd think on it, despite knowing they could help me. Help us."

After helping Asta out of the pool and offering her his cloak to stay warm, he turned back towards Millicent and Alek as he heard the princesses voice raise. "Would you two like some privacy to discuss this?" He asked politely, not wanting to get into the middle of a lover's quarrel.

Alek's jaw set and he just shook his head. "No need," he said to Aleron, his eyes set on the princess. She was going to get them both killed. " 'Our' mind has been set." He gave a strange look to Asta as Aleron pulled her out of the water... then turned and walked back inside the cave, letting Millicent have her way. There was no point in arguing. Royalty.

Millicent didn't hide the scowl on her face. "Give me a moment." She told Aleron simply following Alek inside the cave. She didn't hesitate, grabbing his arm and spinning him around. "Will you get your head out of your arse?!" She sighed, running a hand through her hair. "You know I actually thought you'd not treat me like some helpless child. Actually listen to me and my concerns. My fears. If all you're going to do is berate me for every decision I make I don't know why you came. You've never been completely isolated. I am trying to make things easier dammit. Let me try. Let me learn. And stop treating me like some spoiled royal. I would have thought you of all people would realize this!" She told him, eyes watering but she refused to cry. She refused to let him have that.

Alek turned to face her, sighing as he did. He let her finish before even trying to reply which also gave him time to reflect on what he was going to say. When he spoke, his voice was calm though hints of irritation were there. "Millicent, please don't scold me like a child. I understand your desire to make your own decisions and learn from your own mistakes, do you think we could possibly wait until we're out of hostile territory before making terrible ones without my consent? If we're going to do this and live through it, our decisions have to be made together... not on some whim, not because you want to prove to me and the world that you can survive, not because I want to be in control and make sure we live." He sighed and scrubbed his hand through his hair, making it stick up wildly. "Go talk to him. There's no point in wasting the opportunity." He bent down and picked up the sword's sheath and slid it back in, thinking this was going to be much more difficult than he'd anticipated.
