"You have?!" Aleron started out excitedly before looking rather deflated when she said that she didn't remember either. "I've definitely seen it before. I do a lot of extensive reading and I definitely remember seeing it in one of the books I've picked up over the years, I just wish I could remember which one. I have a feeling it's not good though." He admitted to her.

"What d'you think gave it away? The blood river coming from inside the house or the eerie blue light," Farron asked with a snip of sarcasm. She felt a plop on her nose and looked up just as thunder rumbled above them and a flash of lightning followed. Bloody brilliant. "I do recognize it.... I'll just be damned if I can remember where or what. It'll come t'me though, give it some time... here, just over here and we'll be good. There're stables just past this gate that I have to stop at and collect my beast."

The armor was getting almost unbearable to walk in as Alek pushed through the underbrush. A particularly nasty branch swiped back across his cheek and left a miniscule cut on his cheekbone, a single, tiny drip of blood sliding down.

The waterfall appeared before him as he rubbed the little bit of blood away from his cheek and he looked around. Tracking had never been his strong point, hence why he wasn't an archer in the King's hunting party, so when he didn't see anyone immediately in front of him, he sighed. What if he'd guessed wrong?

"What if? There's no what if, I was wrong," he mumbled to himself as another roll of thunder echoed above him in the heavens. He absently wondered to himself what gods were fighting right now and over what.

Exhausted from the day's trials, Alek walked over and sat down on the boulder-lined edge of the waterfall pool and started to unstrap his armor. It was beautiful and priceless, but it wouldn't help him anymore -- it was too bulky and far too loud. If he found Millicent, if she was somewhere in these woods, he planned on helping her escape, at least out of the kingdom, and he couldn't do that dressed as a Royal Guard.

Aleron resisted rolling his eyes at Farron's sarcasm. "I'm thinking bad on a scale of the whole kingdom, not just the town." He pointed out to her before looking up as he felt the cool drops of the beginning of a rain storm. Lovely, just what he wanted. Tonight was turning into such a disaster. He followed Farron towards the side that she had mentioned. "And your horse is in and you'll be leaving? This city is the last place you want to be for quite a while."

Millicent looked up as Kisha suddenly got up, a soft growl coming up from her chest. Millicent carefully got up, ordering Kisha to stay back. She didn't worry about Nightshade, though, as the steed was laying down and kind of glaring at her. He wasn't a big fan of water...

She carefully slid out from the cavern but kept hidden behind some foliage. She saw a guardsman out by the pool, taking off his gear as the rain continued to berate them. It wasn't until he looked up that she realized who it was.

Alek.

Her voice caught in her throat, trying not to get overwhelmed again. Plus she knew he'd never hear her over the roaring thunder or crashing falls. Before she could stop herself, she felt her feet move beneath her. Before he could register what was actually happening her arms went around his neck from behind in an hug, her body trembling from the cold and from exhaustion. She couldn't get any words out though.

He actually came...

"Yes, my horse is there and I've no plans to return for a while. Ease your troubles, traveler," Farron replied as she waited for a regiment of guards to storm on past. As soon as they were past, she motioned to Aleron and bolted for the stables. With the rain and thunder, it made running all the easier as they couldn't be heard over the sounds of the storm. Before long, they were standing on the porch of the stable, sheltered momentarily from the rain and plenty far away from the gate that the guards wouldn't think twice even if they did bother to see them.

Farron was drenched from head to toe, her short black hair sticking to her face. "Ugh, nothing like a good summer storm t'liven things up when you're running for your life," she grumbled as she felt a warmth bleeding through her chest. Pyr certainly was active tonight.

"You all there, traveler?" she asked as she looked over at Aleron.

Alek startled a bit as she grabbed him from behind, but it only took a moment for him to process the situation and figure it out. Somewhere deep within him, he felt absurdly pleased with himself -- he knew her well enough to know exactly where she would come in a crisis. No one else would know that about her... well, her sister might.

He reached up and put his hand on her arm steadily, turning to the side so he could look up at her. He could feel her trembling under his touch. "Found you," he said quietly as he dropped the greave he was removing from his leg onto the ground.

Aleron almost smiled as he jogged after Farron once she was on the move. He didn't seem to mind the rain or thunder, in fact, he was rather enjoying it. After the dry, hot day today, the cool liquid felt good on his skin, helping to wash all of the dust off.

He was grinning as they reached the cover, eyes sparkling as he looked over at Farron. "Wouldn't be much of a traveler if I let a little bit of rain bother me, now would I?" He asked her with a raised eyebrow. His blonde hair had darkened once it turned wet and was currently plastered to his face instead of sticking up oddly like it usually was. "Well... I have to say that tonight was an interesting night lady Blacksmith. I believe you have it from here? Do I need to escort you any further?" He asked her.

Millicent nodded, giving him a watery smile. "You did...thank you.." She said softly, looking up as she heard another crack of thunder. She carefully took his hand in hers, "Come on...there's shelter behind the falls. Get out of the rain..." She told him, using her free hand to brush some of the soaked red strands from her face.

Farron pushed her hair out of her eyes and shook her head, "As much as I appreciate the gesture, I don't think you did very much escorting, traveler. Saved my hide a couple of times, but... really I did all the escorting." She tilted her lips up a bit and touched two fingers to her temple. "I'm quite fine from here. Off yeh go now and be wary on the roads, traveler. Should head east or south...Shortest distance between the city and the edge of the kingdom," she offered as she knocked on the stablemaster's door. "Safe travels now."

Alek nodded, forgetting that they'd found that cave behind the falls. He stood, extricating his hand from the princess's as he bent down to pick up his armor and his satchel. He didn't need to leave it all out in the open to be accidentally found while they sorted out what they were going to do now.

"Lead the way, Princess," he said as he shifted his arms, glad he'd only gotten his bracers and a greave off. HIs breastplate was what was insanely heavy and his body was still able to support that, even with the fatigue.
