Millicent bit back a groan as Phillip found her again. "If only I were so lucky..." She mused with a simple shrug, taking a long sip from her glass. She let her gaze wander anywhere but the prince beside her. She'd never wanted dinner more than she did now...

"Magda, sweet... shh, come here." Farron reached for her and drew the girl into her embrace, blood be damned. She looked over at the house, wondering what the hell was causing the inside to be lit up with that radiant blue light. And that symbol on the door... she'd seen it before, but she couldn't place it.

She'd all but forgotten about the traveler when she looked back over her shoulder. He was almost lost in the sea of people that were flooding from their doors. Women screamed while the men stared at the scene in front of them. The pool of blood that was building in front of the house was garish and grotesque.

"Down on the ground! Immediately!" The guards had arrived, weapons drawn and on high alert. "Contain the crowd!" The guards split and formed a chain, pushing the crowd, including Aleron back. "Anyone crosses the guard line, you will be immediately arrested!! Get back in your houses NOW!"

Farron tried to console the hysterical Magda, but the girl couldn't even control her sobs, much less explain what had happened. The leader of the guards came up and surveyed the situation, looking at the glowing blue house...and the steady stream of blood coming from within it.

"You there, woman. What happened here," he said, staring at Farron.

"I don't know," Farron replied as Magda broke down again. "I just--"

"Wait, you're that smithy, the one --" He trailed off, scowling. He had been the one that had caught her before Aleron had showed up. "Release the girl and put your knees to the ground, woman. You're under arrest. Guardsman! Bind this woman's hands and send two inside to survey. You there! You go to the castle -- alert the Captain immediately."

Farron felt Magda ripped from her and she was pushed onto the ground with her hands on her head as she stared at the sight in front of her. Gods, if they existed, what had happened here?

Alek effortlessly made his way to the balcony, standing just beside the grand doors that led out onto it. They were opened for the party and while some people milled around it, it was mostly deserted. Everyone was too busy trying to schmooze someone else for money, status... whatever they desired.

He glanced around impatiently, waiting for the dinner to be announced... he hoped there were no other announcements before dinner. If so, Millicent would never get away...

Phillip smirked as he watched her look for any sort of opening. "Either way, I'm glad I caught you. Princess... I was hoping to talk to you. The king and I were talking and rather amazingly enough, we talked for quite some length about you." He started out, giving her time to digest what was going on. She prided herself on being smart, so he counted on her to put all the pieces together rather quickly.

-

Aleron cursed under his breath as he got separated from Farron and all of the people came out onto the street to see what was going on. Bunch of nosy birds. It got worse when the guard finally arrived. Even more so when he recognized a couple of them.

Blast it, this woman was as much as a trouble seeker as Asta was. He went to move forward when he was pushed back by the guards. Then he saw as recognition hit them and Farron was forced to her knees. He almost groaned, but instead, he began to think quickly on how to get her out of this. Not at the moment, no there were too many people and witnesses. He would just have to sit back and bide his time. Maybe figure out just where he had seen that symbol that was on the door. He had read about it somewhere in one of the hundreds of books he had picked up over the years, now if only he could remember which one.

Millicent felt her stomach drop, "Is that so...?" She asked, unable to keep the look of disgust off of her face even if it only flickered. She suddenly knew where this "gift" was going and she tightened the grip of the stem of her glass a bit.

Farron sighed as her hands were bound with rope behind her back, but she wasn't overly concerned about it. With a little luck, she'd be able to get off without any serious charges. She watched the guards as they walked into the house, but one came charging back out a few moments later, coughing and gagging. Whatever was inside was obviously not something he could stomach.

"Come on, traitor," the leader said as he pulled Farron up to his feet. "It's to the dungeons with you while we sort out this.... mess. Rinca, Lofman, keep this place locked down. I'll send reinforcements once the Captain orders them." He put his hand on Farron's back and started to lead her away from the blue house and that strangely familiar symbol. He waved to another guard and he joined them, carrying a bright lantern to light their path up to the castle.

Farron glanced back, looking for the traveler, but saw too many faces to pick him out. She hoped he'd just move on now. He'd helped her already enough.

"Ah, yes. There's that dawning recognition I was looking for." Phillip smirked at her. "So I don't really have to play quite so doting then. Princess, the king and I have been talking and he has agreed with me that it is time for you to settle down. He also agreed when I said I was the best and most obvious choice out of the many suitors that have come to see you. So Princess Millicent, you would do me the greatest of honors if you consented to marry me." He didn't even phrase it as a question. Because to him, it wasn't a question for the matter had already been decided.

Aleron watched from the shadows as Farron was pulled up to her feet and only one guard escorted her away from the house. Perfect. With all of the guards concerned over what was happening in the blue house, it made it perfect for Aleron to help Farron sneak away. He waited until they were far enough away from the crowd and the other guards before he sneaked up behind the guard from the shadows of the alley and hit him hard enough on the head to knock him out.

"Seriously, you're as bad as Asta when it comes to staying out of trouble." He said as he wiped his hands off before moving to help remove the ropes from Farron's hands.

Farron blinked and the nasty leader guard was on the ground, out cold. "Hm," she said as she heard Aleron's voice and then his hands as he worked on the knot in the ropes. "Boy, you are handy t'have around in a pinch, aren't you, traveler? As for trouble... I knew that family. That girl was their eldest daughter... all her siblings were younger than her. She tried to tell me what she saw but..." Farron shook her head. "Things are bad, traveler, and getting worse. This city is going to erupt in fear when this incident starts spreading..."

"Good to know." Aleron grunted as he jerked on the ropes one last time and they fell to the ground in a puddle. Stepping back, he shook his head. "It's very bad." He agreed. "Which is why you need to get out of the city now before it goes to total chaos. I've been there and seen it when a city finally explodes. It's not pretty." He promised her.
