"My mom said I was never right in the head." Aleron agreed genially as he began to follow Farron through the alleys and streets, surprisingly quiet and nimble for a man his size. His eyes would pick up glowing from Farron every now and then, but never spoke of it. Everyone had their secrets after all, him included. When she asked about why he was doing this, he shrugged. "My sister actually. There's always somebody who needs help out there, even if they never ask for it. I figured that if I can help even one person and make a difference in this dark world, then I can die tomorrow knowing that I didn't waste the life I was given. Besides, kindness is always passed back around. You were kind to us, so I'm being kind in return." He explained to her. |

Alek shrugged noncommittally. "Does anyone particularly like snobby princes? I don't look forward to working for him," he said, glancing over to see Leila heading their way again. "Sorry to bother you, Liza. Thank you for the information." He nodded to the woman, setting his salad plates on the table carelessly as he headed toward the ball room. They had to get a plan in place soon... the announcement was bound to happen soon. -- Farron stopped them every so often as she guided them through the dark, deserted streets. Even though the streets were empty, the bars and taverns and whore houses were not. Every so often, they'd pass one and the raucous inside was almost enough to tempt Farron in -- it had been an awfully long time since her last good tavern crawl. "Well, much obliged as I am, I don't particularly want to get in a kindness war with you, traveler. Now I'm bound by the laws of kindness to do you one in return.... which means you'll inevitably feel the need to pay it back...and you see where this is goinggggg---ahhhh---" She stopped abruptly as they came to a T-intersection with another street. "Sorry, traveler," She huffed. She turned and grabbed him, pushing her back against a building and pulling him forward against her so their bodies were pressed up against one another. Her arms snaked around his neck, her hands draped between his shoulders. It was a second after she'd positioned them that a roaming pack of guards came around the corner. "Hey! Bloody hell is going on here?" "Oi, just a coupl'a rags. Mate, be on yer way. Take 'er to yer room. Curfew's up," said another guard, leading the others past them. |

"So glad to see that you have noticed, princess." Phillip risked saying which meant that he goofed up the next step. He hated these cursed dances! Give him a simple waltz to woo the ladies any day. Not that it mattered in the end he guess with this bitch. "How are you enjoying your name day so far?" He asked her, wanting to get the subject off of his dancing. - Aleron was following Farron contently, not seeming to mind all of the cacophony coming from the taverns, inns, and whore houses. He'd been in many cities in his few short years alive and they no longer startled him like they did Asta still sometimes. Aleron was going to reply to Farron's statement when he suddenly found himself twirled and pressed into a feminine body, Farron right in his personal space. His eyes widened as he looked down at her, not quite sure at first how to take this personal intrusion. He finally felt the tension melt off of his body, however, as he heard the guards. To make it look more realistic, he slide his hands around her waist and onto her back. When the guards spoke to them, he simply raised and waved his hand to the guards to let them know that he heard them. Once they were finally gone, he chuckled. "You don't have to apologize. Would you slap me if I say it doesn't bother me at all?" He asked. |

"Oh, I don't slap," Farron advised him, peering out from around his shoulder as the guards walked on. She looked up at him with her white-silver irises that seemed to be smiling though the one she wore was minimal. "I hit." She patted his shoulder lightly, but even before she had the chance to move away from him, Aleron was assaulted by a wicked burning sensation on his chest where it was up against Farron's body. |

"Good to know." Aleron said about to say more when he hissed and took a step back and away from whatever was burning him. "You burn too?" He asked as he rubbed at his chest and looked at her with confused eyes. "Okay, what was that?" He asked her, still rubbing at his chest. |

Millicent got some inner joy when he messed up the next steps. When he asked how her day was going she gave a light shrug, "It has been alright. Sunrise was gorgeous in the woods though." She said simply, obviously finding more joy in a simple walk in the woods than a giant event. ------- Leila caught Alex before he could leave though, "Excuse me, sire, but I know you realize that is NOT how you set a table." She told him, giving him a cold stare. All she wanted was for her charge to be happy. That being said she was aware of the announcement tonight and was dreading the reaction. She was NOT going to take this well...If things were different she would never stand between the guardsman and her lady but it simply wasn't so. |

"Ahhh, sorry 'bout that," Farron said as she pulled out her amulet from beneath her shirt. It was burning as brightly as a campfire, no longer just the dull hum of an ember. She wrapped her hand around it and it dulled instantly. "He's really not fond of other people, so don't take it personally. He didn't do any real damage though, did'e?" -- Alek looked over at Leila, eyes locked with the woman. Now was not the time to be concerned about the way the stupid table was set. "I have to attend the ballroom, mistress," he responded simply, detaching her hand from his armored forearm. "You've plenty of maids and I hardly think setting a table is written in my contractual agreement with the Royal Crown." |

"That's right... your walk in the woods. Alone with your guard. I do say, I heard you two came back quite a mess." Phillip smirked as he tried to provoke her. - "So... what is he exactly?" Aleron asked curiously. He didn't even know where to begin to guess. Magical artifacts were plenty in numbers and even more in origins. |

Leila narrowed her eyes a bit, obviously not a fan of being spoken to in such a manner. "Like it or not, boyo, your father and commander gave me charge of your arse for the night so bite thy tounge." Without another word she reached up, grabbed him rather painfully by his ear and dragged him over to a quiet corner of the banquet hall. "I'd expect this behavior out of Marek, not you. Now out with it boy. Now." She finally let go then, but her tone wasn't one to be messed with. Obviously she was out of the loop on something. |

"Seriously!?" Alek squalled as Leila yanked him over to a corner. He glared at her as she let him go and rubbed his ear. "I'm not a child anymore, mistress, so please do me the kindness of keeping your....painfully pinching fingers away from my appendages." He frowned at her. "I hardly think Marek would be as polite as I was, mistress, but that's hardly the point. It... isn't your concern. You'd be safer to remain uninvolved. I know for a fact, my father and subsequently my commander, would not involve you if he were in my position. If you aren't already aware, it's best to keep it that way." -- Farron eyed Aleron for a moment, judging him for what she knew so far, which really wasn't much. He had a good heart though, that much she'd sensed at first meeting... and hopefully verified through his errand he'd performed for her earlier today. "Come along," she said as she moved along the street, keeping a sharp eye for guards. "Pyr is a magma Soul. He dwelled deep in the mountains of Allasen before I met him as a child, hardened almost to unmoving volcanic rock." |
