"Alas, I believe it is quite important to the both of us." Phillip merely replied as he bowed his head towards her. He looked over to check the time before chuckling. "Actually, we're not quite on schedule. Hmm... would you like your birthday present early your highness?" He asked her curiously.

Aleron chuckled as he sent Farron a smile. His sharp eyes caught the glowing beneath her shirt and he felt his eyebrow raise. "Just so you know, you're glowing." He informed her, wondering what it what it was that was glowing. "And that was years of experience of being on my own. I had to learn quickly when I was a kid how to defend myself and I always had an affinity for plants and the Earth." He explained to her, bowing and indicating for her to lead the way.

"Why do I feel like that's not quite the case..." Millicent mused when he said it was important to both of them. He always found the things he did and bought more impressive. Frankly she didn't want a damn thing of him, "I think I can hold in my excitement a little bit longer..." She mused sarcastically, resisting rolling her eyes.

"Ah, maybe because you simply have no faith, your highness." Phillip teased her with another smirk. Millicent was such a bitter and uptight princess. He couldn't wait to fix that before he fixed her permanently...

"How about this. Bless my not worthy body with a dance and then we can get to your present. I'm sure you're just quivering with excitement."

Millicent thought it over, in reality trying not to vomit at the prospect of dancing with him. Finally she looked to him, downing the last of her drink, "One dance, m'lord. Then dinner. Then...maybe your gift." She said simply, setting the glass down. One dance would bide the time. Then, hope against all hope, she would be seated as far away from the urchin as possible. If not she'd allow another to catch her attention. Besides, nothing he could give her would be worth the dirt on her shoes.

"A whole evening spent in your dazzling presence then. I simply cannot wait." Phillip replied as he stood up and bowed before offering his hand out for her. He was really getting tired of her snippy attitude, but that was what the alcohol was for. It was a good thing this bitch came with a whole kingdom ripe for his plucking.

Millicent cringed internally at the prospect of spending an entire evening with him. She took his hand, though, and allowed him to lead her out onto the floor. She couldn't understand why he was so stubborn. She had made her distaste for him very clear. Hell she'd even smacked him last night for his advances. Why couldn't he just bloody leave her be?! She smirked a bit internally as the band started up a festive, quick tunel. She knew from his last visit these tripped him up. Plus he'd been drinking... "Sure you're up to this?" She asked simply as she poised herself.

"Flattery won't get yeh anywhere, traveler," Farron said idly as she glanced down. Pyr was glowing brightly, pulsing with the heat of the close encounter she'd just had with the guards. She reached up and placed her hand over her chest and whispered soothing mantras in Pyr's native tongue. The glowing dimmed to a faint murmur of orange.

"Did yeh now? That sounds like quite'a talent you've acquired there, mate." She stopped at the end of the alley, sticking her head out to check the street before stepping back and looking at him. "Many thanks though. Might'n've gotten out of that without your help." She nodded her head. "You should be on your way, traveler, but beware the guards. Big to-do up at the castle which means the city guards act up because they aren't being looked after like the little girls they are."

--

Alek sighed internally as he helped the kitchen staff set the massive tables for dinner. Why were guards setting tables? He'd seen the dance with the foreigner, with Markus, and he'd watched as Phillip did everything he could to get near her. It made Alek seethe to think that Phillip was likely near her right now and he couldn't even oversee it....

"Focus, liza!" A maiden nudged another, giggling lightly as she caught her gaze on Alex. "Can you believe the news?!" She asked as they folded up the napkins for dinner.

"I know! I didn't think she liked him though. Did you, Carla...?" The other replied simply, taking a moment to quickly redo her platinum blonde bun.

"Meh, I think the princess was simply playing hard to get. You'll see. She'll be thrilled when he asks and when the announcement is made tonight." Carla nodded, "She can't be overly accommodating after all. You know how they'd talk.."

"Well I mean they alre-- ow!" Liza winced as she received a thwap on the back of her head from Leila. Both girls fell sheepish under her gaze.

Alek was trying to get a glimpse of the ballroom, but the doorway was too convoluted and there were too many people. Seven hells.

He wasn't paying much attention to the idle chatter of the women, but he caught a few words that brought his attentions over to them. Gossip among the maids was a gold mine of information. Alek, nor any of the guard including Markus, truly understood how they learned what they knew.

He set his last plate and stepped back to go get more. As he walked past the two whispering girls, he paused a moment. "Excuse me," he asked politely, eyeing to make sure Leila was out of ear-shot.

The blonde, Liza, looked up with a pretty but coy smile."Yes, m'lord...?" She asked simply, ignoring the face Clara was making. A lot of the maidens around the ground had been trying to catch Alek's attention since he'd joined but no one had been successful to her knowledge.
