Aleron took the satchel with a raised eyebrow, knowing for a fact that that particular item wasn't on the list. He was going through the things when the man from yesterday (Randon was his name!) barged into the forge. Asta looked over and blinked in surprise before Farron drug him back before the two of them could get much more information about what was going on. Something obviously wasn't going right, that much Aleron could figure out. In fact, it sounded like they were in trouble. He could of sworn that Asta wasn't this kind of trouble magnet. |

((-is dying-)) Millicent gave him a faint smile, putting her stuff on the grass for a moment before taking a deep breath and closing her eyes. No blue hair this time. Please. That was the last thing she needed. She flexed her fingers a little and a slight wind picked up around her. It dusted her pants and shirt clean of dirt. She scrunched her nose a little as what looked like glitter flitted over her. It always made her want to sneeze. But it was also what turned her hair weird colors. She couldn't sneeze. The sparks mended her shirt, refastened the braids into a much more acceptable bun. The final touch? Alek's flower that she'd woven behind her ear bloomed with renewed vigor. Finally she relaxed, blinking her eyes open, "Please just tell me my hair is normal..." She mused quietly, nervous of his reaction. ---- Randon sighed as Farron yanked him to the side, "Look. Kingsley was caught with his black ma'ket bollux and they offered them him the same deal they offer everyone. Give up someone with magic and we'll look the otha way. Long story short he picked me because...well he's always bloody hated me. Cut in on his business. So I suddenly 'ave magic and ye have been harborin' my magically delicious arse. The guards ah comin, Farron. Ye folks have horses waiting. We need to go. Now." He insisted, voice hushed but insistent. He knew she was going to make this difficult but he didn't have time for it today. |

The spectacle in front of him made Alek understandably uneasy, but not in the way that he wanted to run away from it. That annoying bit of curiosity wouldn't allow him to be afraid right now -- it wasn't as if Millicent were doing anything that could affect him. He simply watched as Millicent was put back together without even lifting a finger. She looked as fresh as when they'd first come down here, as though she'd just stepped out of her room to start her day. When she opened her eyes, she'd find him quietly observing, his head tilted to the side a notch. He waited a breath or two before exhaling. "It's a lovely shade of purple... I hardly doubt anyone at your gala tonight will notice..." -- Farron looked back at Aleron and Asta before bringing her sharp eyes back to Randon. "Yeh see now why honest work'd do you some good, boy?" She socked him none-too-lightly in the arm and growled at him. "I can't just scurry away like a irresponsible purveyor of other's goods," she snapped, looking outside to see her nieces chasing each other outside the stall. "If Ma's aware, then I'll believe yeh, but mark my words, when we get back, yer going to be sweating over my forge until yeh waste away." She stood back up, quickly putting together a plan. "Go ready the neighs... I need t'get the whelps to my sister and close up. I won't have this fallin' on my Da when he comes back. Scat now, troublemaker." She scowled at him again before walking back over to Asta and Aleron. "Many apologies, but yeh'll have to go now. I'm closin' up shop. Consider the goods a gift from one fellow traveler t'another." |

Aleron was looking back and forth between Farron and Randon, wondering what was going on when Farron approached him and pretty much gave him the stuff for free. "I can't just take it. Is everything alright?" He asked her, actual concern in his voice. It would be a shame to see something happen to this forge and more specifically, its owner. |

Millicent gaped at him, face burning horribly. “Oh please tell me you’re kidding! I don’t have a looking glass…That’s not funny, Alek!” She stammered, but torn between laughing and socking him in the arm. She couldn’t tell if he was being serious or joking. He always had the same look on his face. “Aleeeek….” She pouted but unfortunately it just made her look adorable instead of upset. -- “Bloody hell…uncalled for!” Randon breathed out, not being able to brace for the hit like normal. He’d lost track of the amounts of bruising she’d left over the years. He also didn’t have the heart to tell her they probably weren’t coming back. “Hurry up. Meet ye on the southern edge.” He added, nodding to the siblings, Asta especially, before heading off to ready the horses. |

Her pouting earned her the first semblance of a smile she'd ever seen from him when they were together. His lips tilted upward as he folded his arms across his chest. "I guess you'll just have to see when we return. You know, I read once that there's a country, Cantha, where women change their hair color to wild colors as a way of expressing individuality... maybe you can start that phase here." His voice was completely informational making it even harder to discern if he were joking or utterly serious. If it weren't for his light smile, it would have been impossible to tell. -- He deserved more than a blacksmith's punch, but Farron didn't have time for that. She needed to collect her things, close down the forge and get the younglings to Elspeth's before the guards caught up to her and threw her on board for the gallows. She waved her hands, "Oh, everything's just --... yeh said you can't just take my goods, yes? How about a favor in lieu of coins, traveler?" Her eyes traveled between Asta and him, settling on him as the decision maker of the two. |

"Of course." Aleron was quick to agree. "What do you need?" He asked her. He was used to this kind of trade. He made odd trades like that everywhere to allow him and Asta to travel. Whether it was to trade herbs with the local healer, doing odd jobs around town for meal and board, or trading game for other food. Asta didn't seem to mind, waving to Randon as he left and nodded to her. She wondered briefly what Aleron was getting them into now. Whatever. She'd probably just fuck it up like she always did. |

Millicent couldn't help but laugh and gape at him, "Are you actually cracking jokes!? At my expense!?" She couldn't help the grin even as she groaned, shoving him back with surprising strength even if she kept it playful and practical. He was in her way to get her stuff. "Guess I'll just have to walk in with my head held high. Think I can convince others they're merely imagining things?" She mused with laughter radiating through her voice, keeping the pendant under her cloak but kept the book close to her. "Come now, guardsman." She laughed as she led him onward, shaking her head and even though her face was red she couldn't shake the smile off of her face. He was ridiculous...but they would be alright. She wasn't alone anymore... |

((Whooo sorry for the hold up guys!)) Farron glanced around, knowing she wouldn't have enough time to do everything she needed to do. Randon was seriously going to pay big time for this nonsense- especially if this was the end of it for the Black's in this city. Ma was pregnant again with Child 6, Elspeth was pregnant with 3 and Kellan was holding a good job. Her gaze settled on Aleron, having already weighed his merit. "T'is an odd request, I know," she said as she walked around the forge, throwing this into chest and at the same time, throwing necessary items into a leather satchel much like the one she'd purchased for Aleron and Asta. "I need for yeh to take the kiddies across town. M'sister is a seamstress in the Artisan's Quarter which is precisely fifteen blocks over east. Her name is Elspeth Corrigan. Just give her this," she paused to hold out a very flat, smooth, polished stone that was a little smaller than her palm. "And everythin'll be considered paid and settled." -- Alek kept his smile internal as he shrugged his shoulders. "I may be, but I hardly think that's proper of me, Princess." Well, he supposed his mind was made up now. He had little choice but to go wherever this path took him, even if it meant the gallows for withholding information regarding an enemy of the peace. |

((Never a problem! )) "Of course." Aleron agreed immediately as Asta looked a little wary. Unlike her cousin, she was not comfortable with children around. However, she usually let him make all of the decisions. And he was just trying to be a decent human being at the moment. Aleron reached out and took the smooth stone from her palm gently. "You don't need anything else?" He asked her as he pocketed the stone. |
