Betta looked up as she suddenly saw Bryce there and smiled at him before wincing. "I never want to do that again." She told him as she rubbed at her side, the burning sensation not going away. It actually felt like it was spreading, and it was starting to hurt more and more. If one watched, the area around the scratch was starting to shrivel and blacken, slowly spreading from the wound and around her body as the venom did it's work. Wincing again, she rubbed more at her side as the pain increased, wondering why such a small scratch was bothering her. Devin whined again at her words as he watched her with worried eyes. When she wrapped her arms around him, he whoofed silently as he maneurvered himself so he could soak her face with kisses. As her arms wrapped around him, she could feel the tension melting out of his body as he just sat there and let her hold him. He was just so happy to see that she was okay. That he had made it home in time. He couldn't even bear to think what might have happened to her... what could have happened... Kyler cursed violently at Iggy's words as he let Haven know, Ian's voice of outrage sounding out in his head as he heard as well what Kyler told him. "We have approximately ten minutes to get her to either Kai or Celeste. She's lucky that she's human and it prolongs her time. Because of a shifters fast metabolism you only have about 5 but her slower metabolism will keep it from spreading as fast." He told Iggy as he spat on the floor near the wolf captured. "You just don't use poison in a war like this. You're a disgrace as a wolf." He growled at the captured one, wanting to toss him about a time or two by his neck. He had to reign in his temper though and keep calm. |

Bryce gave her a faint smile before scooping her up, making sure Nina was alright, before heading downstairs to the other two guys. As he contacted Kai, who was helping Adelle up to the suite Haven and Celene had assigned them. Before Iggy could reply, Bryce spoke up, "Kai is with Adelle...if you can't contact Celeste she said she's up in the suite. She only hesitates because shes never dealt with this kind..." he told them, his grip around Betta protective. Iggy nodded, "Both are still out the house I believe..." he looked to Kyler, you okay here for a moment while I bring them back?" He askes him, seeing the deadly rage in the wolf's eyes. He didnt blame him a bit. He wanted to do the same thing. Nina couldn't help but sputter a bit as she was assaulted by wolf kisses, letting out a choked laugh. She just sat there with him, tears running from pain now not from fear. It was the most movement shed put her weak body through and now she was paying the price. She didnt care though, she just wanted to sit there with Devin. She was just happy he was back..."Devin Im scared....." she mumbled into his fur, not wanting to look at the carcass now assaulting her nose. |

Betta was just plain confused, and her mind was becoming fuzzier by the moment. Her hearing was stuffy, and her vision blurry. It was extremely hard to focus on anything but the continuous burning pain in her side. She tried to ask what was going on, but it was stuttered out in her home language, and not very coherent. Why did her side hurt so much?! She kept rubbing at it, trying to get it to stop hurting, but it just kept burning and it was becomiing hard and harder to stay coherent. "Celeste is free. She's already set up for the casualties and whatnot in a room in the mansion. Jared will be waiting for you and take you to her." Kyler told them as he nodded to Iggy. "I'll be fine. Hurry up and get her there." He said with a nod. Celeste had plenty of experience with shifter venom. Devin himself being one of the victims. If Celene had only been a minute later in finding him, he wouldn't be here anymore and he had the scars on his back and side to prove it. Devin just whined more before he finally had a calm enough head to be able to shift back. His furred body was replaced with his human one as he drew Nina into his arms, burying his face into her head. Sheperd... that had been such a close call. "Shhh... it's okay baby. It will all be okay. Everyone's going to be fine." He told her as he pressed kisses into her hair, still holding on to her tightly. He didn't even care that his house was destroyed, all he cared about right now was the woman in his arms. |

Iggy nodded and without another word the two benders vanished. They reappeared inside the mansion, Iggy waving down Jared as Bryce held Betta close, "Just hang on...please Bella just hang on...." He murmured, kissing the top of her head. He was never a good healer like Linea or Kai and he definitely didnt want to risk her further. He just followed the other two up to the room with Celeste. All he felt was gult. If he'd only been there sooner.... Nina blinked as the fur disappeared, holding him tight at he spoke. "B-betta's not f-fine..." shs mumbled, a sharp gasp of pain hitting her which only caused her to inhale more of the grotesque scent of the dead wolf beside her. She coughed, her whole body shaking with the effort. She didn't get up though, she knew she physically couldn't stand on her shaky legs and all she wanted was to sit there with Devin. She didn't know how long she would get to keep this moment and she wantes to last as long as it could. |

Jared caught sight of Iggy and Bryce and immediately led them up to the room that Celeste had set herself up in. He opened the door for them, the sound of screaming and crying children suddenly echoing through the halls with the door now open Celeste was currently bent over a table where a little kid was clutching a pale hand of a body already covered with a white sheet. When she moved aside enough, it showed the crying kid was little Erik, a healing scratch on his cheek. There were a couple of other bodies in the rooms covered in white cloths to show that some had not been nearly as lucky to make it here in time. Celeste turned, an exhausted look in her eye as she caught sight of Bryce and Betta. "Sit her down there." She commanded Bryce as she pointed to a chair. Once Betta was sitting down, she searched for the wound. Betta's skin was extremely pale, and she was breathing shallowy, her every breath laced with pain as she struggled to keep breathing, moving her head side to side in the pain. Pulling up the girls shirt, she placed her hand on the wound, needing skin to skin contact to pull the venom out. Pulling it out with her magic was a slow process, the process taking longer the longer the venom was in there. She had a jar at her feet as she placed the venom mixed with blood into the jar. Once she was sure it was all out, she closed the wound, and rushed over to help the next person running in with a victim. "She will be. Celeste just pulled all of the venom out. All she needs now is rest. She's going to be fine, baby." He promised his girl as he pressed kisses into her hair. When she gasped in pain before coughing, he realized that they had to move. Picking her up in his arms, he brought her out of the bathroom and downstairs to a guest bedroom that hadn't been harmed in the fight. Placing her down gently on the bed, he brushed his fingers across her cheeks. "I'm going to go get you some of the tea, okay? I won't put as much in the herb in it so you'll pass out, but you need to drink it." He told her as he looked down at her, just so glad that she was okay. |

Bryce watched her intensely, holding Betta's hand the whole time Celeste did her work. Once Celeste moved on he knew his girl was going to be okay. He leaned over and kissed her forehead gently, "Hey bella...." he murmured, running his fingers down her pale cheek lightly. Thank the goddess she was okay....she was going to be okay. Iggy went to head back when he saw Erik, remembering him briefly from meeting him while in town with Sare. He walked over and squatted down next to the poor child, touching his free hand lightly. "Hey buddy....its Iggy. Do you remember me? I'm Nina's cousin...." he said gently, not taking much to put the pieces together as his heart sank for the young boy. He knew Erik had wormed a special place in his cousin's heart and unfortunately being reminded of her let some of the conversation slip through. "Erik can you talk to me?" He added, obviously dealing with a lot of upset kids in his time but he just had a way about him that showed he was a natural father figure. Whether he knew it or not. Nina nodded, not having the strength to protest as he picked her up. She just held him tighter and kept nodding, her breathing ragged. She went to answer him as he set her down but her heart sank as she heard what Iggy had let slip through. "Devin....Erik...." was all she could get out through the pain, tears streaming down her face. No child deserved that. No child deserved to see their parents ripped away from them. Not Iggy. Not Kai. Not Erik. No child deserved that agony. |

Betta finally opened her eyes when the pain suddenly subsided. She noticed that things were much clearer now, and she could hear properly. She looked over at Bryce with a tiny, ghost of a smile as she tried not to yawn. She was extremely exhausted, and she felt like she had no energy in her body. The pain might be gone, but she was still sore as hell. "She noticed then, thanks to the crying and screaming, that they were no longer in Devin's home. "Where are we?" She asked him in a hoarse voice as she struggled to sit up more. Erik nodded quietly at Iggy as he spoke up to him, trying to wipe his tears away, but only more would take their place. "I want my mom back." He said in a watery voice, refusing to let go of the departed woman's hand. His dad was still out there, having attended the Gathering while his mother had stayed behind with a couple of other mothers to watch over the kids. He sniffled as he felt more tears just pour down his face, wishing his mom would wake up again. Squeeze his hand again and tell him it was all going to be alright. Devin had stood up, about to go get her more tea when he froze at her words. Searching through the link, he found Erik there... but he couldn't find Miranda's presence. It panged his heart and he just looked at Nina with pained eyes. He then searched for the boys father, Jerrod, and found his thread in the link beating strong and thriving. It wasn't much, but at least he hadn't lost both of them. "Let me go get your tea." He told her in a quiet voice, now mentally doing a head count in his head as he checked all of the threads of bodies that made up the pack. |

Bryce smiled softly, seeing how tired she was, “We’re at Haven’s. You got poisoned….but Celeste fixed you up. Now you just have to rest. Not going to lie, you gave me quite the scare…” He told her, already planning on not letting her leave the bed once they were at Kai’s. Guilt raged through him but he couldn’t let it show, not yet, “How do you feel?” He asked her softly, kissing her hair again. Iggy nodded, “I know bud…I know it’s really hard letting go but you know what? She’s not here with us physically anymore but she’s right here…” He told him, tapping the young boy’s chest over his heart. “I know all you want is her back. I’ve been right there, right in your spot, buddy. It never goes away but it goes better. It seems like everything is falling apart…but you need to let go of her hand buddy…” He told the young boy, hating to see another in his position. He was about his age when his own mother was ripped away from him. He took Erik’s hand gently, knowing as much as the boy wanted to stay they had to get out of Celeste’s way as more and more people came in. Nina nodded numbly, her arms wrapping around her. Her hair was an official wreck and she really wanted to change but she couldn’t get any more words to come out. She just nodded, eyes closing as she leaned her head back, still shaking. She hated fighting. You’d think she'd be used to it by now but she just couldn't wrap her head around it. |

"Poisoned?" Betta asked, sounding very confused. She didn't FEEL poisoned. "I'm just really tired. And my back and arms are sore." She told him. The last thing she remembered was Bryce bursting through the door, and her finally relaxing because she knew she was safe. "Can we get out of here? The feelings are overwhelming and I can't think straight." She told him. Now that she was coherent, she just felt the influx of depression and anger, and it was making her feel worst if possible, and keeping her looking pale and sickly. Voices were shouting in her head. Loved ones looking for one another, and wails of grief. It was too much for her. "But she can't leave." Erik told him with a stubborn tilt of his chin despite the tears falling down his cheek. "She promised me that she wouldn't ever leave me. She's just sleepy. She'll wake up soon enough." He seemed to cling to this even though, deep down, he knew the truth. Outside of the mansion, it started with one howl, but many other voices joined as so many of the wolves wailed out their grief of what had happened today. It was a truly heartbreaking sound as more and more people were rushed into the room. What was the most terrible thing of all was that most of the ones needing healing were children. Devin did't take long, not saying a word to his cousin who was keeping an eye on their prisoner until somebody arrived to deal with him. The dead wolves, who had shifted back already to their human form were stacked outside, including the one in the bathroom upstairs. All five bodies were kept out of site since Kyler didn't want them to stir anymore emotions. Those carcasses didn't deserve that right. Devin was numb as he made Nina's tea for her, not getting over what had happened today. If he was just a couple of more minutes later... he couldn't have added Nina's body to the tally and that would have destroyed him. His fists clenched as he tried to keep his mind away from such thoughts. Sheperd, just the thought of losing her caused him unbearable pain. Finishing the tea and adding the last herb, he headed back into the guest room where Nina was laying and he handed her the tea, keeping a hand on it to help keep the cup steady with her chaking hands as he helped her drink. |

Bryce nodded at her request, scooping her up into his arms and headed upstairs towards Kai. "Kai is upstairs with Adelle and Sare....we'll head up there. I think Iggy will head up soon." He told her as they walked down the hallway, avoiding others running around. What kind of pathetic assholes went after the women, children and elderly first?! Kai looked up from where she was sitting on the bed, arm wrapped around her best friends shoulder. "Iggy is downstairs with Erik..." she told her as Bryce set Betta down on the bed, giving Adelle a small smile. "Sorry buddy but shes not waking up....but she was right when she said she'd always be with you. No its not here when she can squeeze your hand and hug you. But in your heart and mind you know she's still with you. Close your eyes and I bet you can still hear her voice telling you she loves you. Those favorite memories you have of her are the ones you need to hold onto the tightest. Never let her memory go, Erik....but you have to let go of her hand so Celeste can help others..." he told the young boy, tugging gently on his hand. He needed to get him out of here soon. Willingly was better but he'd pick him up and carry him if needed. He needed to leave the center of chaos and pain so he could heal if only a bit. Nina looked up as Devin walked back in, trying to wipe her tears away but it was a useless effort. She drank the tea with Devins help, pushing the cup away once she was done with shaking hands. Her breathing started to even out soon enough but she still seemed just...numb. "I want to change...." she mumbled, noticing some of the attacking wolf's blood was speckling her white t-shirt. She wanted a shower and a restart....but she'd take fresh clothing since she didn't know what exactly was going on. |
