Kyler nodded, almost protesting as she moved out of his arms. He really was beginning to get sick and tired of this shit. Couldn't anything go right for once? Just one fucking time. That's all he asked. Sighing, he ran his fingers through his now extremely messy hair and headed out to go talk to his cousin and see if he could do something to help calm him down.

Beta was standing nearby with her arms wrapped her body, wearing a pair of jeans a large, over sized wool sweater that fell off of one shoulder. Tucking a stray curl behind her ear, she looked over at Kai and smiled as she shook her head. "No, I'm fine. Is there anything that I can do to help?" she asked her instead.

Kai gave her a small shrug, "Once the girls and Jer get home I'll need you to keep Sare and the kids upstairs distracted. It won't be pretty down here and I need Iggy in case Nina goes off the deep end. That alright?" She asked her as she sat down in one of the armchairs and gestured for Beta to take a seat as well. They had a little time at least....

Beta nodded as she took a seat like Kai indicated, rubbing her arms slightly. She really couldn't wait until the warmer weather. Hopefully all the snow would be gone by next month. It was times like these that she missed Southern Italy terribly. She truly was not a cold weather person. "What time are they getting here do you think?" She asked as she tried to think of ways to keep the three distracted upstairs and not come down here to investigate.

Kai glanced to the clock on the wall, "About 20 minutes or so? Sare texted me that they were on their way home...As long as the boys are calmed it should go well enough save for Nina. She's really the unpredictable variable in the equation." She told her with a shrug, looking back with a small sigh. An idea hit her then, she didn't know why but maybe it was simply taking a step back. She knew who to bring in....Iggy wasn't going to be thrilled but he was the best bet they had for this not to turn into a bloodbath. Hell she wasn't thrilled but...what could they do?

Betta nodded as she played with the sleeves of her sweater. She quirked her head slightly, catching a small ping from Kai's mind, but didn't ask. She just focused on the few lessons that she had gotten from Peter on keeping people out. She had to admit that while she adored the time alone she had with Bryce, it made it harder for her to practice her new skills.

"What does this mean for the people back at your home?" Betta asked Kai curiously after a moment of silence.

Kai shrugged lightly, "For my people? Either nothing or all out war or famine. For the Brann sector under his family's control? I shudder to think...all we know is Griffith needs Nina for something. Once we're all together....or rather once things have cooled a bit...I'm going to search my old texts. See if anything even remotely gives us a hint as to what he's after. Once we know what he wants we can better warn the others. My main concern is Nina and Iggy's family. If he can't get to her here....unfortunately he may use her family to sway her." She admitted with a small sigh, hoping Iggy had at least calmed enough to send a warning to his aunt and uncles. The sooner they got to the castle the better.

Betta nodded as she listened, tucking her feet up under her so she could rest her chin up on her knees. "Sounds like this is one big mess. It's a good thing you got some kind of warning." She told her, even though she knew that Nina wasn't going to much like the fact that Devin went behind her back, for good reason or no. She felt a little bad for the wolf, but she saw how much Nina loved him. They'd pull through just fine.

Kai nodded, "That warning is what's throwing me. Obviously we don't doubt Nina but I want to know how long this has been going on...." She mused with a small shrug, running a hand through her firey hair. Her eyes went towards the door as she heard a car come up the driveway. "They're home...." She took a deep breath as she stood, looking over her shoulder as Iggy and Bryce came back in. They looked better at least....hopefully this didn't go too badly.

Betta nodded, about to ask her why how long this had been going on mattered when she heard the car as well. She stood up as she saw everybody coming inside, immediately feeling the tension between Iggy and Devin. Well... this was going to be a fun day. Rubbing her arms, she headed towards the front and put a smile on her face. If there was anything she was really good at, it was playing a part.

Sare knew something was wrong immediately as she burst open the door with arms full of bags. She had had a wonderful time shopping with Nina and the kids. Of course, when was shopping not fun?!

"Hey! What's up you guys?" She asked with a bright smile, immediately sensing the tension seeping throughout the room. So... what did they miss?

Kai gave her friend a small smile, especially when Lilys small frame popped through the door with a giggle, "Auntie Kai! Oh ye have to look at everything we got!"

"I promise I will later, love. Right now i want you to head on up and put everything away. Betta will help you..." She told her, earning a confused look from the young girl.Nina came in then and Kai could see the flash of rage behind her dark eyes directed completely at Devin. She could tell the young Brann woman was doing everything to keep calm until the kids were gone.

"Uncle Iggy...." Lily asked instead, smiling as he kissed the top of her head but Jeremiah was already bringing things upstairs.

"Promise ill be up in a few moments, Lily....okay? Help Jer and the girls put things away for now...." He told her softly, to which she sighed and rolled her eyes. Well this wasn't fun like she thought.... Iggy kissed Sare on the cheek, murmuring he'd explain everything later.
