Wynter squealed and giggled madly as he poked her side, squirming a little in his arms before settling down again. "Fun!" She cheered with a nod. It was obvious that she was becoming exciting and beginning to slowly understand the meaning of the word game.

Celeste smiled as she reached over and placed a hand on her cheek before moving back to grab the other plate. "He's going to love the shield." She assured the other girl. Of course, Nina cold probably get Erik anything and he would adore it. He really had taken a liking to the other girl and that was really going to help him she believed during this hard time. To lose a mother, especially so young was a hardship. It was easy to slip into oneself and change for the worst, but as long as he had somebody like Nina and Devin to help him. she figured he would be fine. "Before we bring these out, I want to ask how you're doing? I know they took care of you, but I like knowing for myself. Call it my mother henning if you wish." She smiled slightly at her.

Jared chuckled as he flipped open the book to any particular page. He quickly read an excerpt to her, his voice flowing smoothly and lilting at certain parts. Despite his quiet tone, he had a voice that was nice to listen to; soothing and calming. "Did you hear how the words sounded similar when I spoke them? That's rhyming." He explained to her with a smile.

Nina blushed lightly, but was grateful for Celeste's reassurance. "I'm much better than I was. Still a little sore every now and then but I wouldn't dare tell Devin that. He worries very easily....even if he pretends Kyler is the only worry wart." She gave the other girl a small smile, "Best news was that I can eventually have children but I'll have to be super careful about it when it happens."

Lily smiled a little as she listened to him read, finding the book odd but kind of funny at the same time. "It sounds...funny." she told him, tilting her head a little. "Do ye have any stories about sprites or such?" She asked then, her voice still quiet but she was getting more comfortable.

"He worries easily over you. He's not really a worry wart like Kyler but you seem to bring out the protective side in him." Celeste teased lightly. When she gave her the good news, the older woman clapped the best she could with a dish in her hands. "That's wonderful news dear! I'm so very happy for you." She told her as she kissed her cheek in congratulations.

"It is very funny. It's supposed to be." Jared told her with a smile as she handed her a book. "You can take this home and have your Uncle read it to you." He told her, obviously loving his job and getting to introduce children to reading. At her request, he nodded. "Let's see... ah-ha!" He traced over the books before pulling one out. "This is a book of fairy tales here. And it has stories about witches locking little girls into towers and mermaids and so many others." He told her as he showed the beautifully illustrated front to her.

Nina blushed a little deeper, but smiled as Celeste kissed her cheek. "Junte...I'm excited but nervous too. Oh, and we're considering adoption but I'm not quite sure how that works...and I mean I know its so early to be thinking of things like this..." she rambled a little with a small shrug. She knew there was no one she wanted to spend her life with more than Devin but she wasn't even sure Devin was thinking all that seriously about marriage or anything....

Lily smiled as she held the book happily in her arms. Her eyes widened a little at the cover of the fairy tales collection. "Really? But...what are witches? Are they good o' bad?" She asked him curiously.

Celeste chuckled as she pulled back and listened to Nina's ramblings. "It's definitely not too early." She assured her. "And adoption is a very easy process if long once you see it." She told her. "Come on, cheer up. It's going to be a fun day. Now let's get out before everybody's stomachs begin to eat their selves." She told her as she led her to the door.

Jared smiled as he shrugged. "They can be good or bad, but they're mostly bad. They're often depicted as older women who create evil spells and make potions." He explained to her.

"Spells and potions? Oh! Ye mean magic?" She asked, her smile becoming a little real. Magic was something she was very familiar with. Her head picked up, though, at the smell of peanut butter. "What is that?"

"Peanut butter. Its delicious, sassi...promise." Nina told her with a smile as she followed Celeste out into the main room.

"Ye hear that angel? Food is here!" Iggy chuckled, poking Wynter lightly. Kai watched him with a quiet chuckle, shaking her head a little. Jeremiah still didn't look overly sure about the whole thing. She noticed he kept a discreet but careful eye on his sister though; old habits died hard.

"Food!" Wynter cheered with a laugh, giggling as Iggy poked her. She wriggled in his arms, finally getting him to let her down before running over to Celeste and holding her hands out. Celeste brought the tray down and instead of grabbing one, she grabbed three. Walking over, she held one out to Jeremiah first with a shy smile. "Food?" She offered sweetly.

Jeremiah blinked at the sudden voice, looking down with a small smile as he took the sandwich. “Thanks….” He mused, curiously taking a bite out of the new food. He made a slight face as he chewed though; one Kai couldn’t help but laugh at. She could tell it wasn’t that he didn’t like it, it was just a severely new taste and texture for him.

“You’ll get used to it….” She promised him as he gave her a look before prying the sandwich off the roof of his mouth and finally swallowing. That was going to take major getting used to….

Wynter beamed at Jeremiah, cheeks tinging slightly pink at his thanks before walking over and offering Lily a sandwich as well. "Food?" She offered up with a smile, obviously thrilled to be around kids like her. Even if they smelled a lot different.

Sare laughed as well as she walked over to the back. When she came back out, she was offering Jeremiah a glass of milk. "This will help with the stickiness of the peanut butter." She explained to him, having grabbed a glass for Lilith as well. First experience with a peanut butter sandwich? Yea, they were definitely going to need it.

Lily took the sandwich with some caution, "Um...thanks." she told Wynter with a small smile before looking to her uncle. With so many food allergies she was wary to try something so new.

"Its fine, sassi...." Iggy assured her, already half way done with his own sandwich. She nodded, taking a bite then. She took the glass of milk from Sare gratefully, but made another slight face.

"Ye milk tastes different...." She said with a nod, but quickly continued to eat the sandwich anyway. It was yummy...but different.

"Different animal...." Kai told the young girl with a small shrug, preferring goats milk herself. It tasted more like the milk back home...
