Sare stayed quiet as she listened to him explain why he had never told her. Finally, she just sighed and nodded. "I understand why you did it. Just... promise me you won't do that again. You'll tell me anything important like that, and you won't keep anything from me again?" She asked him. She knew her man wasn't the best about talking and sharing his secrets. He was a very private person, but she didn't want him to keep his problems and worries to himself. She wanted him to share with her.

Erik's smile got even brighter if possible as he heard Nina's voice. He suddenly turned shy at her words as he blushed and hid his head in Devin's shoulder. He then whispered something into Devin's ear as he chuckled and shook his head.

"There you go! Trying to steal my woman again." He poked the kid in the side as he let out a giggle.

Miranda smiled, gold eyes shining happily. "The quiet one back there is my husband Jerrod and Erik's father. He hardly says even a word to me or Erik so don't be offended if he doesn't say anything to you." She told the girl as Erik's father just nodded his head respectfully in Nina's direction.

By now, Erik was tugging on the edge of Nina's tank top, shy smile still on his face.

He nodded with a ghost of a smile, "I know and I promise that is the only thing I am keeping from you..." He promised her, kissing her forehead lightly. Okay, not the only secret but the other he was sure she wasn't going to be mad about. He took the picture of his brother back and sent it up into a quick cloud of ashes before looking back to her. "If you have any questions about them or me please feel free to ask me.." he offered her with a slightly stronger smile.

Nina's smile got a little stronger as she caught Erik's red cheeks out of the corner of her eye. She was obviously more comfortable around kids than adults that she didn't know that well. She laughed softly, looking over to Jerrod and returned his respectful nod before looking to Erik as he tugged on her top. "What's on your mind, bud?" she asked him sweetly, a small smile on her face as she saw his shy smile.

Sare gave him a small smile in return, resting her head against his shoulder as her hand played with her new necklace idly. When he told her she could ask anything, she paused.

"Can you tell me more about them? If we're all going to be living in the same house, I want to know more than they're just related to you." She told him, wondering if she should voice her worry or keep it to herself. She should be fine, right?

"D-Do you want to go swimming with me?" He asked her, shy smile still on his face as he looked in the direction of her voice.

"Sweetie, it's much too cold for her to be swimming. She's not a wolf like us." Miranda reminded her son gently, sending Nina an apologetic look. "I hate to burst your bubble, but I don't see a bathing suit on her either." She told him as Erik looked downcast.

Devin nudged Miranda before looking back up to his girl with a smile. "She doesn't have her suit on her today, bud. But if you want, we can go swimming some other time. The cold doesn't bother Nina at all, right?" He asked her.

He smiled a little at her request before nodding, "Yeah yeah of course...." He pointed to the young boy first. "This is Jeremiah, as I said, and I love the kid I do he's just a handful. What fourteen year old isn't though? I think he'll be better once he's in a stable enviornment but he's one to test boundaries. He is a good kid, ultra protective of his little sister. Lilith is nine and she's a complete angel..." His smile became a little more real when he talked about her. "She's pretty shy but she should open up really quick to you when since you come packaged with me. She's really quite something, especially coming from that household. Both are stubborn little mules though....Both also have different mom's...neither are in the picture. Their nanny actually just quit a week ago...." He told her honestly, looking at her then and seeing her fidget. "You okay?" He asked her gently, concern in his eyes. "I know its a lot to take in. If you have any concerns please let em know..."

Nina laughed softly, "Unfortunatly I don't have my suit today, sweetie, but like Devin said the cold doesn't bother me at all. I'm not a wolf but you remember what I can do, right Erik?" She asked the young boy, ruffling his hair sweetly. She remembered the first time they'd met, letting a flame tickle up his arm. She wasn't overly powerful in combat but her control was marginally better than others. "I promise to go in the pool with you next time we have the oppurtunity. Deal?" She looked to his mother with a small smile and a shrug, obviously not minding the boy's request.

Sare listened with a smile as Iggy talked about his niece and nephew. She could see the difference in him, and the happy smile lighting up his face as he mentioned Lilith. "You're really close to them aren't you? Especially the little girl?" She asked him, feeling her heart strings pull for the poor kids. She could only imagine what their home life was like, and she was so glad that they were getting out soon. When he asked about her, she debated for a second about mentioning her fear, but she shook it off. It was stupid. She knew she shouldn't feel that way, and she would get over it soon enouhg. "Yea I'm fine." She sent him a stronger smile than before as she leaned up and kiss him sweetly. "It's a lot to take in." She admitted truthfully. "But I can handle it." She promised him.

Erik nodded, still looking upset until she brought up her gift. Brightening up once again, he nodded many times. "I did! It was so cool! Can you do it again?" He asked her as Devin laughed and looked to Erik's parents.

"You should watch this, it's really cool." He promised them as Miranda and Jerrod look to Nina curiously. Devin had nothing but love and pride for his girl in his eyes as he smiled at her.

Iggy nodded a bit, "Yeah....I was still really young when Jeremiah was born but when Lilith came around I was turning sixteen and more than old enough to recognize what was going on, especially when the year prior he gave me the lovely momento on my back...There's a 16 year age gap between me and Damon." He added on with a small shrug, "I really got involved after Lilith and I think Jeremiah still kind of holds it against me. I've always been there for him its just...I was fourteen and living mostly with Kai and Ano." There was guilt in his voice as he looked to her as she kissed him, a small smile on his lips. He watched her carefully though and he shook his head, "Come on, wolfie...something is bothering you. Please just let me know..." He said softly, having a small pang of fear that she was going to back out. He kinda wouldn't blame her, it was a lot but....

((SOOO MUCH MATH!! O.o))

Nina blushed, going to back out when she saw Erik's bright smile. She was a sucker for little kids..."Alright....remember you can't squirm okay?" She reminded him, holding his hand out with so it pointed straight out in front of him. She glanced to Devin, a shy smile on her lips before focusing again on Erik. With her free hand she opened her palm to reveal a small delicate flame. hovering above his skin so he could feel it but it wouldn't hurt him she let the flame trail around his arm with delicate motions of her fingers. It went up to his cheek, hesitating for a moment almost like a kiss before Nina closed her palm and the flame dissapeared.

Serephina smiled lightly as he explained the situation a little more. Jeremiah was only five, almost six years younger than her herself. She caught the guilt in his voice, and she wished there was a way for her to erase it. She didn't want him to feel guilty about anything. The fact that he was doing what he was right, and taking them in himself said so much about him. He was such a good man. When he prodded her more about what was bothering her, she sighed. She wished he didn't know her so well sometimes. "It's just that... I'm scared they won't like me." She murmured quietly. "And that I'll cause problems. Or what if by helping to raise them, I find out I'm a horrible mother figure? I know we talked about kids, but I was sort of joking." She admitted.

((*eye twitch* I hate math... *offers you cookie* Cookie?! lol ))

Erik nodded excitedly with a bright grin, sticking his arm out for her as he held completely still. It actually looked like he was holding his breath. He squirmed the littlest bit once, but it didn't last long. When she finally let the flame disappear, he fidgeted more as he cheered. "That was so awesome! I could actually feel it! Did you see it mom?!" He asked his mother as Miranda looked a little shell-shocked to be honest.

"I did sweetheart." She told her son as she looked at Nina than Devin.

"Where on Earth did you find her?!" She asked Devin as he laughed.

"That's my secret, I didn't find her on Earth?" He winked as the parents just looked confused.

"So... what are you?" She asked Nina curiously. It wasn't accusing, or deragotory. She was just simply curious. She had never seen anything like that before! She knew Devin would never let the woman around Erik if she was going to hurt her son. And there was no pain showing, nor was there any marks from the flame. It was most curious!

Iggy listened to her softly, nodding a bit. Being only eleven years older than Jeremiah was enough of an issue but he understood her concerns completely. "Hey....listen to me. They will like you. Jeremiah I will tell you now will be a pain in the ass just because he can and you'll be new but give Lilith a few hours and you'll have her asking you everything she can under the sun about your world. I know you, Serephina and I know you will be amazing. You think I'm not nervous either? I'm scared shitless but if youre in this with me I know we can do our best with them and that's all we can do for now....." he told her gently with a small smile, running his fingers over her cheek lightly.

Nina blushed a bit deeper but laughed quietly as Erik cheered, looking to the parents then as she thought over how to answer. What was the term Kai had told her to use again?! "I'm a Guardian." She told them, "Im a...firebender." She smiled a little as she remembered the term, "I can control the element of fire and its counterpart lighting. Devins right though...I dont come from this world. I'm from Lumnicera. Its hard to explain really but I met Devin when my friend Bryce and I came to visit Kai and Iggy here." She told them, figuring she'd skip the whole fight to the death royalty thing. "Not all guardians can control fire, though. Some like Kai and Bryce control water and ice. Others can control Air and others still can control Earth. As you can probably guess my home is much different than yours...." she added, giving a shy smile.

Sare smiled, feeling that need to cry again at his words. She had to admit, she did feel a little better after hearing them. "I don't know why you're nervous. You're going to be amazing." She told him as she leaned in and hugged him as she buried her face into his chest. "I love you. And I really hope your right." She mumbled against his shirt. She really did hope he was right. The last thing she wanted to do was to cause even more problems for him and his family.

Miranda and Jerrod listened curiously to Nina's words as she tried to explain. Jerrod seemed to comprehend it a little better than Miranda did, seeming as she still had a confused look on her face at the end of the explination.

"It's a little hard to understand at first, but you'll get the hang of it eventually." Devin promised her with a smile as the blonde smiled and nodded.

"Well you certainly sound very fascinating! So... I understand you came here for a visit, but how did you two meet?" She asked curiously as she looked between the two. It was obvious to her that they were both head over heels for each other and she was very happy for the younger wolf. He deserved to be happy, and she seemed like such a lovely young woman.

By this time, Erik had scampered out of the pool and was now attaching himself to Nina's leg, plastering his wet body against her jeans with a grin. Her son really seemed to like her anyways.

Devin just smiled up at Nina, laughing as Erik pretty much claimed his woman for his own. "Her friend Kai and Kyler introduced us. She turned me down at first." He pouted up at her before grinning.

Nina smiled shyly, laughing as she found Erik attached to her leg. She sat on the pool edge indian style, pulling him gently so he was sitting in her lap. "I did, actually. I was in one of those "I hate the male race" state of minds. Besides I was only going to be here a week or so. He finally convinced me obviously and we really haven't looked back..." she said with a shy shrug. By the time she'd finished speaking her jeans were dry and even Erik was starting to dry.

((How old is Erik? -having a brain fart-))

Iggy smiled a little, wrapping his arms around her tight as he kissed the top of her head. "I love you too and come on now Im always right. When are you going to remember this?" He teased her lightly, placing sweet kisses in her hair.
