((Lmao! That's fine by me :P ))

Betta ignored Bryce and Kai as they came out, putting all of her focus on browsing through the clothes. There was still the tiniest bit of stiffness in her shoulders as she continued to look through them. She jumped slightly as she felt Bryce's arms wrap around her before melting into him, not able to help herself. She always felt so much better with his arms around her. She never took her eyes off of the clothes as she shook her head with a smile plastered to her face. "No, not yet." She told him, thinking back on everything Nina had told her.

Devin smile as he followed her towards the others. He smiled to them as he said his goodbyes, seeing how Lily hanging around the shy falcon helped her since her husband wasn't here. "Come along, Sparky. We got a family gathering to get to." He teased her as he waved one last time before opening the door and leading Nina out.

Bryce smiled as he felt her lean against him, nodding as he kissed her cheek. "Anything in particular or just browsing...?" He asked her simply, realizing then she was a bit chilly in his arms. Without a word he slipped his jacket around her shoulders, wondering why she wasn't wearing the one he'd given her. "I do think, however, you need a good coat.." He teased her lightly, kissing the top of her head as he watched her look through the clothes.

Nina smiled, nodding as she followed her boy out the door. With the help of the driver, she hopped into the carriage. She gave him the instructions in her native tongue, a shy smile on her lips as she waited for Devin. The trip to her parents' wouldn't take too long.. She leaned against him, letting her eyes rest for a moment as the carriage took off. This was too much stress and drama for her right now. What happened to people getting along?!

"Just browsing." Betta told him, smile a little more real as he kissed her cheek. When he slipped his jacket around her, she sighed happily. She had forgotten the one he had given her back at the Kai's house. When he talked about getting her a new coat, she finally looked back at him. "But I like the one you gave me. It smells just like you." She told him as she leaned up and kissed his cheek. She studied him briefly, trying to decide it was really worth it to tell him. What choice did she have though? Nina stole it from her when she threatened her and told her she would or one of the others would.

Devin smiled as he followed her into the carriage, kissing her cheek as he settled in next to her. "I love you." He told her with a smile. He wrapped his arm around her as she leaned against him, noticing the extra tension in her body. "Are you okay?" He asked her quietly as he rubbed her shoulders soothingly.

Bryce chuckled softly, "Yes...but that one is back at Kai's. You do need more than one my easily cold amore..." He teased her lightly, smiling as she kissed his cheek. His coat was fine for everyday...especially back on Earth and frankly he loved that she loved to wear it. She'd need a few, more tailored coats as well though. Especially when they would be here most of the time and today they'd be out and about most of the day in the cold.

Nina looked up at him as he rubbed her shoulders, "Betta is just a lot of drama in one little package..." She mumbled, shaking her head a little. She instantly regretted her words but it was too late. She was just too tired to really watch what she said. "...and I'm pretty sure I screwed up any chance of her liking me.." She added with a small shrug, just curling into her boy. Betta's words about taking her own advice and acussing her of being two-faced had really hit her hard.

Betta smiled, chuckling softly as she curled up into his warm jacket happily. "I guess I could consider one more. If only for the fact that I like being warm." She admitted as she leaned back into him again. Honestly, she wasn't really into clothes shopping. She didn't hate it like Kai did, but it was something she always put near the bottom of her list.

Devin watched her with a tiny frown, squeezing her arm gently. "Hse didn't say anything to upset you, did she?" He asked her, knowing he'd have a talk with the girl if she did. Nina was already going through enough as it is. "And I wouldn't worry about her, baby. Betta's always been like that. She's fun and a sweet girl, but she has a lot of jealousies and insecurities. That gift of hers has always made her a little more defensive and prickly as well. Added with her past, she's the troublesome little package that you see today." He explained.

Bryce chuckled a bit, "Mhmm....well pick out anyone you like before we get going. I love you very much, and I love the way you look in my stuff, but I would like my jacket back before we leave for Gwayne's." He teased her, kissing her neck simply because he could. His conversation with Kai had brought up alot...but that conversation was for another time and place.

Nina didn't answer his question right away, just listening to him with a nod. She didn't want Devin ganging up on her as well. "I tried talking to her about Kai...I think I got through to her by the end but..." She shook her head with a small shrug and looked down. "She called me out for keeping my own secrets and then bascially called me two face. I forgot that she can read my mind too and I called her jealousy petty even though I said I liked her and I want to help her after she kind of compared our situations...." She told him softly, not wanting to have the first part of that conversation in the back of the carriage. Her stomach was churning and she just was starting to feel horrid as it was.

Betta made a pouty face before moving over to the area with the coats and what not to browse. "I love you too..." she murmured to herself as she wrapped her arm around herself. Thanks to her chat with Nina, everything just felt off, and her day was steadily going downhill. She was almost tempted to plead not feeling well and going home to rest if she knew somebody wouldn't offer up for Kai to heal her or something.

Devin's frowned deepened as he watched his girl, upset with Betta for making her feel this way. "You aren't two faced. And that's Betta's way of keeping people out. Whatever you said to her hurt her feelings so she struck out. Despite her gift, she's surprisingly a very sensitive girl. It doesn't take much to hurt her, especially people she likes. She doesn't have a lot of friends because her gift shows her more than she can handle. There are a lot of people who don't like her and it bothers her, so she puts up her walls and acts like she did towards you. It's no excuse for what she may have said to you. Not at all, and I think I might have a word for her, but I figured I might try and explain. Ian would be better at explaining the mess that goes on in her head though." He shrugged as he pulled her tighter into his side. "Now cheer up, Sparky. Don't let her words bother you." He offered a smile as he kissed her cheek.

Bryce frowned a little, following her over to the coats and rested a gentle hand on her shoulder. “Is everything okay, bella?” He asked her gently, tucking her hair behind her ear. He’d known there was something off for a while now but he’d trusted she’d come to him if she needed to. Right?

Nina listened carefully with a nod here and there, but when he brought up having a word with her she shook her head and looked back to him. “Please don’t. She already thinks we don’t like her and are against her. I don’t think it would do anything but harm…I…I didn’t mean to upset her but it’s hard watching Kai walk on eggshells and Bryce hurt because she won’t open up to him.” She said softly, looking back down at her lap. She gave him a small smile as he kissed her cheek though. She was used to people being able to see into her head, but she was also used to controlling what they saw. She wasn’t the most stable person to begin with so to basically be accused of being two-faced really hurt.

Betta's face remained passive, but inwardly, she blanched at Bryce's words. "I don't want to talk about it here." Was all she told him. Besides, it's not like she had a choice since they backed her into a corner. She was angry, but also very hurt and she was confused, yet sad and upset. She felt all of these different things and she didn't know how to proceed and go on.

"That may be so, but she hurt you. And I don't like that at all." Devin said with a frown. Betta's accuasations really hurt his girl's feelings. Right now, he didn't care what Betta thought, he never wanted her to say something like that to his girl again. "Don't worry Sparky, it will all be okay. Don't let her words get you down. Please? She's just and angry person nobody else thinks that way about you at all." He tried to get her to feel better as he kissed her cheek.

Bryce nodded and gently kissed the side of her head, "Alright..." Was all he said, rewrapping his arms around her. He could feel his girl's tension and he wished more than anything he could help her. Right now, however, he knew he couldn't do much unfortunately. He hated feeling like he had to be careful of balancing Kai and Betta. He hoped the laid-back atmosphere of Gwayne's would help the tension a little. It still struck him as odd Kai thought she'd lose him but she'd quickly blocked him and stonewalled him every time he tried to ask.

Nina just nodded, knowing there was no real arguing him or talking him out of it. She just hoped he didn't do it at Gwayne's. She was really looking forward to going to her uncle's later. She'd just avoid too much contact with the other girl, not enough to be cold, but give her space. After all, she was still friends with the prince...She looked up at him with a small smile, going to say something when the carriage came to a stop and the driver opened the door. "We're here...." She said sitting up and taking a deep breath as she let the driver help her out. Her smile became a little more real as she took in her parents' home. Not even a block away one could smell the sweet treats baking at the bakery for the afternoon rush.

She didn't have much time to relax, though, as her mother opened the front door. She was in her mid-forties as shown by the laugh lines on her face. Like her daughter, her makings were thin and delicate but very introcate. Her dark hair was pulled up into a messy bun, flour spotting her dark red skirt and black top. Her confusion quickly turned into a grin at the sight of her daughter, "Nina! You didn't tell us you were coming...." Kora mused, walking forwards and quickly enveloping Nina into a hug even though Nina towered over her mother by a good few inches.

Nina let out a small laugh as she hugged her back tight as she could, "Wasn't exactly planned..." She admitted, giving a small smile as her mother held her at arms length and looked her over. "Mendra...not now..." she added quietly, seeing the concern in her mother's eyes.

Kora hesitated before finally letting her go and looking to Devin with a smile, "Well it is very nice to see you again, dear. I actually just made lunch. As usual you're right on time for food..." She mused, teasing him lightly before giving him a hug and a quick kiss on the cheek. She was obviously fond of her daughter's choice in a man. He was a sweetheart as far as she could see and he was obviously very protective of her only girl. She took a step back with a happy sigh, "Your father and the boys should be home soon...just ran over to the backery to check on things and grab some bread for lunch..."
