"Hey, hey....I will take my dessert offer back.." he mused with a chuckle, flicking one of her brightly painted toes up on the seat next to him. "Last time I tried any kind of dicipline on her she screamed at me for an hour, claiming it would be easier if she was normal, not a freak. That I was a know it all who knew nothing and then proceeded to slam her bedroom door. That night ended in me having to go out until 3 am to find her. Yeah, common sense doesn't work on that child, no matter the reasoning." he mumbled, shaking his head a bit.

He looked back to Ayren, a small smile etched on his lips, "if you wanna try with key go and knock yourself out. Just don't say I didn't warn ya."

Scowling, Aeryn kicked Damien lightly with the foot of the toe he had flicked. "I will hurt you." She threatened him. "And its too late. You can't take back dessert. No take backs." She grinned. When he suggested that she try with Keira, she snorted before laughing. "Are you insane? I don't think she would listen to me. Much more unlikely. I'm her friend, I'm not supposed to tell her what to do. I just hel p her break out from jail when her ass lands us in there. And kick the asses of anyone whose willing to start any shit with us. Disciplining her is so not in my friend description. We'll just leave that to you since you seem to do so well." She teased.

"Oh, gee aren't you a real sweetheart." he laughed as she threatened him, "Lighten up, your face is going to freeze like that one of these days." he mused, referring to the recurring scowl which marred her face. "and, even though you are a rather attractive subject of the female gender that look isn't all too becoming." he added with a grin, finishing off his beer with a content sigh.

He let his gaze bounce around the room as it grew dark outside, the bar slowly filling. He looked back to Ayern then, "Well your job description was originally mine as well. The girl is only 6 years younger than me and I can already feel the grey seeping into my hair." he shook his head at the thought, then paused as if something had just entered his mind.

"By the way, how is your love life going?" Damien asked with a content smirk, "After all, fair is fair. You critiqued mine. Your turn."

"Good. Maybe if it sticks this way people won't always try and talk to me! Being pretty is a disadvantage in my books. They always seem to equate pretty to nice and sociable." Aeryn snorted at the thought. She looked over at him them with slightly narrowed eyes as if studying him before she rolled said eyes. "Please. There isn't even one measly strand of gray. You're totally overexagerrating. You know, Key isn't that bad. For the most part, she seems to have her head on her shoulders. She's young so she's bound to make mistakes." She pointed out.

When he brought up her love life, she snorted. "It's perfectly fine. Me and my Bob get along fabulously. I don't need anybody else. Just the way I like it." She told him as she sipped at her water. Okay, so Bob wasn't a real guy. But she was woman enough to admit that she had a battery operated boyfriend.

He rolled his eyes, "Now why wouldn't you want attention? You're nothing but a big sweetheart!" his voice dripping with sarcasm but there was a smile on his lips. When she brought up Keira. "I know she's young but making a mistake now isn't the same as making mistakes 5 even 3 years ago. I really wish she'd see the danger in it."

"Really?" Damien mused, "and I'm guessing he came with his own little house and everything?" he asked with a snort of his own. "Doll, you should know better than to try to lie to me."

"As loathe as I am to say it, it's going to take something real big for her to realize how dangerous it can be. Its the curse of her natural stubborness. Until then, all you can try and is to be there for her, willing to help when you can." Aeryn told him with a slanted frown. "It's a shitty situation, but what can you do, you know?"

Her eyes narrowed real quick as he called her a liar pretty much. There was a flash in her grey eyes but it was gone as soon as it appeared. "I'm not lying. I'm actually quite contenet with the deal I have with Bob. I don't need some clingy, emotional slob at the moment. Bob keeps things clean and professional. It works. I think you're just jealous." She smirked, her eyes sparking playfully.

Damien snorted as he rolled his eyes, "Oh yes I'm frightfully jealous of a little metal buzzer." He mused, crossing his arms once more over his chest, "I for one prefer actual human contact. It may be nothing serious as Keira, and apparently you, would like it to be, but at least I don't have to replace batteries." he added with a playful smirk. Yeah it was true that like Keira he was on a dry streak, but it didn't bother him as much as her. He was too busy making sure she wasn't going to land herself in jail.

Aeryn couldn't help but snicker at the topic on the conversation they were having. This was beyond ridiculous. She blamed him personally. "Yea well, some people aren't too big on human contact." she wrinkled her nose at the thought. "I mean how do you deal with the clingy ones? That has to be annoying. 'Oh Damien!'" she pitched her voice to a falsetto, sounding completely ridiculous. "'I know I've only known you one night, but I think you're the love of my life! Don't leave me!'" she placed her hand over her forehead dramatically before snickering again.

Damien laughed at her dramatic reenactment, "It's simple....I can tell what girls are going to be clingy, and what girls aren't by reading in on past relationships. I steer away from the ones that just had a massive break-up and 5 cats. I also stay away from the girls who have images of chains and...yeah, those ones are scary but not quite as much as the 22-year-old cat lady." He wrinkled his nose at the thought, "Granted there have been 3 occasions where my skills have been dented by alcohol but they're easy enough to remedy." he shrugged carelessly.

Yeah, he was a player by nature, but he coughed that up to never knowing where he was going to settle with the constant switching of towns and cities to avoid being caught. To him, legitimately breaking someones heart because he and Keira had to leave in the middle of the night was a million times worse than not calling the next day. That, and the whole situation had given him quite the trust complex.

He shook himself out of his thoughts, looking up to Aeryn with a small grin and a shrug, "Human contact isn't as bad as you make it out to be. You keep isolating yourself, you are going to literally turn to ice." He mused with a shrug, "Which, as much as I hate to admit it, is why I don't completely disprove of Keira's night life choices. She's looking for someone to be herself with other than you and I. She craves the companionship she lost back home, though I don't think anyone will ever quite replace David."

Aeryn shook her head with a laugh. "You're lucky you have that power, else you'd be way the hell screwed." she grinned. "I think I want to see you stuck with the crazy young cat lady. That sounds quite amusing." she actually giggled at the thought. "Yes. I definitely want to see this. Or maybe the one with chains. That sounds like a story to tell." she smirked evilly.

"Meh." she waved her hand. "The way I see it, maybe turning to ice isn't so bad. Just be this giant Aeryn ice statue. Then maybe all my problems would disappear." she frowned for a moment, but it was gone before you could say anything. When he brought up David and Keira, her frown really did return. Poor Keira...

"Yea... can't blame the girl, can you? I guess this means as best friend, the least I can do is go to this rave with her. I wonder if I even HAVE any clubbing clothes." she mused at the thought, thinking back to her closet at home. She probably did. She'd never admit just how much of a clothes whore she was. It was embarrassing, and one of the reasons of why she was ashamed to bring her friends back to her apartment. The place was an absolute mess.
