Damien rolled his eyes, "And what are you angry with me at this particular moment in time?" he asked her dryly, but he nodded at her concern. "But I feel as if she doesn't have some type of closure she'll be worse for wear."

Keira gave him a sweet smile, kissing him on the cheek lightly. "It'll work out for the best.." she promised but her mind was reeling. She looked over to Sydney then, "Y'all know you don't have to stand off to the side of the wallflower...."

Sydney leaned back against the wall, taking small bites of her food. She walked over to Aeryn's window and looked out it. From this angle, she could see a bunch of bodies on the ground...and two cops meandering around them. More sirens could be heard approaching quickly. She jerked her head out of the clouds when she heard Keira. She smiled a bit. "Oh...sorry. I'm just not used to being around a lot of people. There's some serious stuff going on down there. Looks like a drug bust or something gone wrong."

Adam met Ysabel's eyes for a moment before walking around and kicking all the weapons he saw far out of the range of the ones left. Total count was about 5 dead and at least 5 injured. A score more had taken off and the leader was dead, but... either way it was pretty successful. To a certain degree.

The sirens got louder and louder until two police cars and an ambulance came jetting around the corner. The police cars screeched to a stop and four officers exited, jogging over to Adam and Ysabel.

"Jensine.....you called on back up? Fuck, it must be serious," one of the officers said as he dislodged his side arm and smirked.

"Fuck off," Adam said as he tossed his head. "Drug deal. Just go get them to the EMTs."

The officers walked off as the EMTs popped out of the ambulance. Instead of going towards it, Adam started walking back toward their car. Ysabel shouldn't have said anything about him.

One of the EMTs walked up to Ysabel. "Officer? Are you the one injured?"

----

"You should really be more careful about how you answer your private line. You never know who could be on the other end," a languid voice said to Trevor. "I'm not your cop friends, nor your pathetic excuse of informants. Let's call me an acquaintance with a similar goal."

Aeryn just gave Damien a look. "Take your pick." she told him dryly. Truth was, she spent most of her day mad at him. It was actually rare when she wasn't mad at him. It was a strange deal they had going on. She was just an angry person. "And that may be so. Still doesn't mean I like it. The sooner the fuckers gone, the better I can sleep at night." she muttered.

Ben smiled at Kiera lightly as he ate his food, finding it to be amazing at the moment. He looked over at Sydney as spoke up. Drug bust? Jesus, and Aeryn lived in this kind of neighbourhood? The fact that she did and none of this seemed to bother her at all sort of creeped him out.

Ysabel watched as Adam kicked the guns, and for some odd reason, it made her want to laugh. Loudly. Instead she kept it up until back up and the EMTS arrived. She finally placed her gun up as all the guys were locked up. Looking up as the EMT asked her if she was the injured, she looked around for Adam and found him... leaving? Oooh, that screamed story time. Nodding, she pulled up her pant leg to show where a bullet had grazed by, taking a chunk out of her skin. She was going to clean it herself, but she couldn't just tell them that she had been misinformed. Besides, whichever guy got off lightest, she's added assault to an officer to his list. Unlike most special people, there was nothing off about her blood work or anything. It was like she was completely normal so it was safe her to head to hospitals. Unless they monitored brain waves or shit like that. She had to avoid head injuries.

Trevor looked down at the phone, letting out a humorless laugh. "Oh really?" he asked sarcastically, taking another long draw. He found it amusing when people talked down to him. "And how exactly do you think you and I are alike? hmm?"

-----

Keira walked over to where the other girl was, looking out the window. "Yeah....Something went bad. Looks like gang teritory fight." she mused, leaning against the wall then as she continued to watch. She recognized the cop in the long sleeves. "Looks like Jensine was hurt...and he has a new partner. Poor girl."

Sydney glanced over to Keira. "That's the cop you know...?" She looked back down at him, trying to get a good look. He was holding his arm, which even from here Sydney could see was darker than the rest of his uniform. "Why poor girl? Is he a dickhead or something?"

The EMT glanced at her as though this wasn't worth calling in an 'officer down' for, but said nothing to it as he led her to the back of the van and quickly cleaned her up. After he was through, he nodded. "You're all good. You can file an incident report back at your precinct if you feel it necessary. Where's your partner? Is he or she injured?"

Adam pulled open the door to the Charger and slid in, shutting it behind him. More than half of him was tempted to just drive off and leave Ramirez here....but he'd hear about it from Captain Rodriguez. She seemed the type to squeal on him for that. Nevertheless, he wished she'd hurry up. His arm fucking hurt, damn it.

---

The voice laughed, a slow, deep one. "I didn't say we were 'alike'. I said we had similar interests. I can help you get your cute little blonde Southern belle. You might've noticed the other night she has quite a posse following her around these days. I know you think you've got it under control....but trust me, lab rat," the voice turned quite serious quite fast. "You don't. If you're interested...let me know. My number should be on your phone now." The phone bleeped and went dead just after the voice stopped speaking.

Damien chuckled, shaking his head, "You can't stay mad at me forever....You just said last night I am incredible." he mused leaning back as he ate his food. He knew there was a very real possibility of him always being mad at him but he'd take his chances.

Keira laughed, "it's the simplistic explanation of it. He's a "helping" hard-ass..." she looked over to Damien as if she still wasn't completely convinced.

Ysabel nodded, offering a tiny thanks. "No, not that's it." she told the EMT. "Partner's waiting back in the car. Have a nice day." she offered a sultry smile before heading back to the car. Getting in, she gave him a look. "I get it. No EMTS. Need help cleaning it? I'm pretty good at that." she told him matter of factly.

"What?!" Aeryn exclaimed as she looked at him with wide eyes. "I did no such thing!" she shoved him lightly. "That's bullshit, Shea!" she told him, but... the angry tone wasn't quite in her voice again.

Adam sat quietly, starting the car as soon as she slid in. His right arm rested on his lap while he used the left to put the car into gear, as well as turn the wheel. "They'll take care of it from here." He clenched his jaw as he took a turn a little rougher than he'd intended. Within minutes, he pulled up in front of the precinct and stopped. "Get out and go make a report. I'll check in later."

Sydney gave Keira a strange look. "Really. Because that sounds way too oxy-moronic for it to be true. Cops don't help unless there's something in it for them. You known him a while or something?"

Trevor listened, snarling as he heard the term "lab rat". He tossed the phone across the couch and dug the issued phone out of his pocket. He waited a few moments, "Yes, Martin?"

"We're in position boss. Ready on your word."

Trevor smirked, "Head in on your count. Just remember, she is tougher than she looks. She's a...mental case." He grinned a bit, taking one last drag. "Contact me when you have her." He closed the phone then, looking over to the other phone. What the hell was he going to do about THAT?!

Ysabel shrugged, figuring that she had offered to help He declined so she sure as hell wasn't going to push it. "Have fun, pretty boy." she said with a wave as she stepped out of the car when he parked in front of the precinct. Walking up the steps, she cast one last look before heading inside to make the report. It was not going to continue like this. She was going to get answers. That was damn sure.
