Sydney sighed, rolling her eyes. She folded her arms and just kept spreading the calm. This Keira was a real pain in the ass. "Why do you think we're all here? We're trying to formulate a plan. The only unfortunate thing is, we don't have a lot of time to do it.... so those of us who are All Knowing in the room, please step forward and give some ideas. By the way..... you're a teleporter?" she asked Ben, looking over to him curiously. "Sorry to get off subject but that seems pretty handy." Adam recognized the scene all too well. Gang fights. Mindless killing for stupid reasons. As if there wasn't enough in the world to worry about. He nodded to Ysabel and closed in. Suddenly, a shout came from somewhere near him and the men still left looked up. They saw the cops and turned their guns on them. Adam growled and took cover behind a wall. He waited a few pauses for the gunshots to subside and pivoted around the corner, pulling the trigger a few times. His first shot landed in the leg of an assailant, his second barely missed a shoulder of another and his third glanced off a nearby truck with no license plates; probably theirs. There was an overall sense of chaos as the men started shooting back with semi-automatic weapons, causing Adam to take cover again. ---- Meanwhile... Trevor's personal line began to ring.... Aeryn glared as Kiera said she was staying. Sometimes, she REALLY just wanted to strangle the fuck out of her friend. "It would be prudent for you to leave." she grumbled as she rubbed at her head. One little fact did catch her attention as she heard the two arguing. "He's your brother?" she hissed as she looked over at Damien with wide eyes. She... really didn't know what to think about that. She wanted to immediately go on the defensive, not sure if she wanted to trust him. Yet this was Damien. He was, in the end, a nice guy. Even if he got on her last damned nerve most of the time. "The plan I had thought of so far was this." she went on, not wanting to hear Damien's answer right now. She'd deal with it later. "Sydney was going to turn us in to him originally. She's still going to. Except of giving him the name of your apartment. She's going to give him mine. Where'd we'd be waiting here for him, ready to spring a trap. He would sense you in here, but as soon as he came in, we would have ORIGINALLY." she glared at her friend. "And I'm hoping still teleport you out and Damien and I would deal with it. But it looks like my original plan is going to have to be rethought." she muttered. Ysabel began to curse rapidly in Spanish as she rolled behind a cover, keeping her head low as she checked her gun. As soon as she heard a break in the shots, she peaked over and shot a quick couple of times, proving to be a damned good marksman. Her first bullet lodged into a mans chest, nailing him staight in the heart. The only missed, but the second hit another man in his gun arm. She saw another aim, and ducked behind cover again. She caught the truck that shek new was there since it had no license plate. Seeing a man make his way for it, she shot the tires out quickly. See the bastard get away from justice that easily. Cursing again as a bullet from a weapon chipped off some of the wall she was hiding behind, she immersed herself in the cover a little deeper as she waited for the idiots to expend their clips. One thing about semi-automatics is that they didn't last long in a gun fight. Ammo was expensive, and it went quickly. |

Damien glared back at Aeryn, "Cousin." he corrected gruffly, shaking his head as he watched Keira's reaction. He knew the look on her face. She looked hurt and at the same time pissed. It was the look he'd gotten the first time they'd gone shooting and said she couldn't shoot the bigger caliber. She looked to Aeryn, "Well you're daft if you think he's going to show up on his own again. I'm not leaving, Aeryn. Give me one really good fucking reason why I shouldn't have my shot at the guy who made my life hell and leave you here. Neither of you know him as well as I do. You don't know how to fight a telepath...." she looked pointedly at Aeryn. "And learning how to fight him isn't something you can do over night..." She pulled the chili from the heat of the stove, letting it cool before looking back to the group. |

"......Keira's right," Sydney said, slightly begrudgingly. "Fighting a mindfuck isn't easy. It took me years to learn how to put up that wall...and do it succesfully and strongly enough not to be broken through. Even still, it takes a lot out of me if the mindfuck is really strong....cuz then they can just bash at it until you give in. If Keira knows him.....then really, she should be the one to take him down. Especially if none of you knows how to keep a mindfuck out." She glanced around at everyone. She'd never felt like more of an outsider. Adam waited out, turning his head to look over at Ysabel. When he heard angry yelling he nodded to her. Reloading his weapon, he came out from behind cover. "LAPD. Drop it. Now." His stance was perfect...akin more to a soldier than a cop. Seeing the cop, a few of the guys bolted off on foot leaving those that were injured or dead to fend for themselves. Adam had his eyes pinned on the man with the submachine gun that he was sloppily trying to reload. "Fucking drop it," he said again. "Fuck you!" The man threw the gun at Adam but pulled out a handgun at the same time. He unloaded on Adam, barely giving him time to duck behind a car. He hissed quietly though as he looked over at his right arm, the navy blue of his sleeve darkening to a wet black. Every fucking time. He fucking HATED gangs. |

Keira was surprised that Sydney stood up for her, but looked up at Damien as he spoke. "Keira has been training with me for years. Her sheilds are some of the best that I've seen. There will be others there and as much as it pains me to say this, Keira should stay." he admitted, obviously not liking the idea. "Then you can eat." Keira said simply as she removed the lid from the chili. It smelled delicious as the steam filled the air. She walked over to Aeryn, squatting by her chair. "I can do this, snowflake. You have to let me do this." |

Aeryn groaned as she plopped down on her couch, running her hand through her hair. "I fucking hate this." she grumbled as she looked around at everybody. She knew, in a twisted sort of sense, Sydney, and Damien were right. But she didn't want Kiera to be here, risking her life. Or hell, even taking a life. It was not how the movies portrayed it. Not at all. What you felt afterwards. It wasn't pretty. And if she actually knew the person, it was going to hit her extra hard. She didn't want her friend to go through that. Glaring at everybody, she just felt overall shitty despite Sydney's best efforts to calm them all down. "Fine. You can be here." she muttered, not sounding happy at all. "You. However." she pointed at Ben. "Will not be. You will wait at Kiera and Damien's apartment, ready to pull all of us out in case it goes South. You're our escape route and we don't need him fucking with your head. Ysabel stood the same time Adam did, gun pointed towards them. Her stance not quite as intimidating and perfect at his. Must have been that military training she had read about. Another reason why she chose him for her new partner. She watched the ones still able to scatter like the filthy rats they were, and instead focused on the injured and dying. When the man shot a new weapon at Adam, she didn't even flinch as she pulled the trigger. Thrice. And every single bullet hit him dead in the heart. "Anybody else want to try?!" she called out to the rest of the injured on the ground. "Drop the guns. Now." she said as she looked over at Adam. She caught the wetness in his shirt. Waking the radio attached to her shirt, she contacted headquarters. "HQ? This is 619. We have a cop down. Will need medical assistance. Also bring back up." "Copy that 619. Ambulance and back up on its way." "Now, any of you pendejo's make one wrong move and you won't make it to the hospital." she said with her lips curled back in a small smile. |

Keira couldnt help the smile on her lips, wrapping her arms around Aeryn's neck not caring about the normal boundaries. "You won't regret this." she promised, finally letting her go and standing. She looked to Ben then, agreeing with Aeryn. "You aren't good in confrontation..." she told him, not condescending but truthful and concerned. "I told you that gun was a last resort and I meant it. Damien will contact you if there is any trouble or, more likely and hopefully, when we're done." She gave his hand a squeeze, hoping he would understand before she went back to the kitchen. Damien sat next to Aeryn as Keira passed out food. He wasn't thrilled but he'd rather think it over on a full stomach. That was one thing that never bothered him after throwing up. He looked to Aeryn, "She's stronger than you think..." he told her softly, somewhat sounding like he was trying to convince himself. He shook his head as Keira handed a bowl of chili and piece of cheesy toast to Sydney. "Peace offering?" |

Sydney listened to them talk, both seeing and feeling the agitation rolling of Aeryn in tidal waves. The girl was way too obviously displeased....but there were some things that just had to happen. Sydney knew the obsession with Keira was the only way they'd get Trevor here....but she really didn't think one time was going to be enough to rid them of him. Nevertheless, she liked the idea of being rid of him. It was a nice thought at least. She glanced at the food Keira held out to her. She offered a small smile and took it. "Sure. Thanks." She let the calmness that was hovering in the room dissipate. Now was a good time to let everyone feel whatever it was they needed to feel. Adam watched as Ysabel took out the man who'd shot him. She had good aim....that much was true, but she was a little over zealous. He hadn't been aiming to kill....and most of these grunts were probably just that; newbies trying to make their first move to get into the gangs. They wouldn't know anything. He hissed as he stood up, holding the gun in his left hand as he approached the injured on the ground. He was a little irritated that she'd called in with his injury....it was unnecessary and if the right EMTs showed up, they'd know he'd refuse medical assistance. It wasn't the first, nor the last time he would be shot. He walked over to the nearest man, one he'd taken down with a bullet to the knee. He rolled him over with his foot and placed his boot against the man's neck. "Talk." "F-fuck you, cop." Adam looked mildly amused. He moved his boot down to the bullet wound that was streaming blood from the man's thigh. He pressed down on it, causing the man to cry out. "Try again." "What do you want me to say?!" "What happened." "Just a regular thing, man! We were pickin' up some cash for some coke and they fuckin' fired on us! What the fuck were we supposed to do!?" "Who's your boss?" "I c-can't, man. He'll fuckin' trash me." Adam pressed harder on the man's wound. "I'll do that for him anyways. Make your last free moments worthwhile." "....He's new in town, man. H-he came from Miami....name's Darius. Scary fuck, man. Real scary." Adam released the man, putting away his sidearm as the sound of sirens echoed not far off. He glanced over to Ysabel before putting his hand over his wound. The name didn't sound familiar...but drug lords were a dime a dozen in LA. He was sure this one wouldn't be hard to trace. His mind weren't loyal; this one squealed under only the slightest of pain. |

((so I totally missed this before....hehehe)) Trevor picked up his line, "What? How the hell did you screw up this time?" he mused, but there was ice to his voice. He never cared about how he answered this line. No "boss" knew about it and it couldn't be tracked. He was waiting on a few reports before he could move out. He took a long drag of his cigar. "I'm waiting shit for brains." ------ Keira looked at Sydney with a small smile before handing Ben his dinner. She rubbed his shoulder, "Hey....you okay?" she asked, knowing he'd been silent this whole time. |

"Yea, whatever." Aeryn muttered, looking uncomfortable with the hug, but she didn't move back from her friend. She just sat there with a sour expression on her face. "Hey! You're not hearing any arguments from the peanut gallery, Belle." Ben held up his hands in defense. "All of this seriously freaks me out. So I'm happy to stay away at a safe distance." he told her truthfully. Aeryn looked over as Damien sat down, her expression still as dour. "I'm still angry with you." she told him, turth be told, not even hungry for once. All of this anger and feelings had ruined her appetite. "And I know. But that still doesn't mean she should have to go through this." she pointed out. "She's too nice. It's gonna be hell on her conscious." Ben looked up as Kiera came by with food. "Thanks." he said as he took it gratefully, still starving. "I'm alright I guess. I'm not the one who has to go through crazy shit tomorrow." he shrugged as he offered a tiny smile. Ysabel kept her gun out on the others dumb idiotas, as she kept an ear out, listening to Adam's conversation. Unconventional, and out of regulations. But it got them answers and the job done. When she heard the name, her eyes darted over to meet Adam's. Offering a tiny shrug, she looked back to the others. She had never heard of the name before. It wasn't uncommon, however. There were a shit ton of drug lords out there. Edited by never_fade_away, Apr 6 2012, 01:57 AM.
