Adam ignored her nickname, despite the fact it annoyed him. He put the car into gear and headed back onto the roads, not directly answering her question. He turned down the radio, but the moment he did a voice came crackling over the speakers. "Car 819, Car 819, respond immediately."

Adam looked over to Ysabel, nodding at the radio. "Pick it up. Passenger's job."

Sydney looked between them. "I think everyone who's gonna be involved needs to be there. So yes, Keira should be there. Please don't let her go off on me though. I'm really tired of being treated like crap lately..." She nodded solemnly before putting a hand on her hip. "So where's this apartment, lady?"

"Well... considering how breakfast turned out, I have a positive outlook on it." Ben told her with a grin as he began to finish up his job. "Eugh! Not onions!" he said as he smelled them and immediately as he did, he felt his eyes beginning to water and he had to actually remove himself from the kitchen. He was extra sensitive to onions, what could he say?

Ysabel felt just the tiniest flicker of annoyance as he didn't answer her question, but it was soon gone as she heard the raidio. Picking it up, she nearly purred into the radio. She didn't do it purposely, it was just how she sounded. "This is car 819. How may we assist?"

Aeryn nodded as she nudged Damien. "Can you get her boy toy to teleport her to my apartment in ten minutes?" she asked him before looking over at Sydney. "I can't promise. But I can try." she said about Kiera. "Come on, it's this way." she said as she nonchalantly led them out of the alley and towards her apartment. They had a lot of planning to do. It wasn't going to be easy to spring a trap on a, 'mindfuck'. She liked the word that Sydney used. Didn't like the girl, but she liked the girl.

Damien nodded, following Aeryn out of the alleyway. Hey Keira? Bring whatever your making to Aeryn's. And please bring me one of those supplements?

Um okay....you ok bro?

Just....yeah I'm fine. Just a big headache. We're putting together a plan. Finish up there. Just get to Aeryn's soon.
He realized he forgot to warn her about Sydney, but his connection was weak to begin with.

Keira looked over to Ben with a sigh, so much for an escape from reality. "Once we finish cooking we'll be heading over to Aeryn's to talk over a plan for Trevor..." her voice was quiet, almost bitter.

Adam's eyes flickered over to her again. That was going to get old. The whole seductress bit. He let out another breath as he listened to the call.

"We have reported gang-related violence on South Strickland. We need you to respond immediately. Be aware, there have been gunshots reported as well as other weapons. Proceed with caution. Apprehend as many suspects as possible."

Adam cracked his neck and yanked the car around the next turn, instantly following his mental directions. He avoided turning on the lights though....he didn't need the suspects fleeing before they even got there.

Sydney nodded her hostility all but gone. She looked to Damien before following after Aeryn. They weren't really too far from Aeryn's apartment... so when they came to the corner of the block it was on, Sydney paused. "Do...you hear that...? Are those.......gunshots?"

Ben looked over as he heard Kiera sigh, frowning at the look on her face. It upset him that the news made her so sad. "I'm sorry." he apologized even though it wasn't his fault.

Ysabel nodded, not ilke they could see it. "Understood. We're on our way to the scene now. 619 out." she said as she placed the radio back up. Looking over at Adam, she raised an eyebrow. "You look a little excited there Jensine." she commented before looking down to make sure her gear was ready. Which of course it was, she kept everything in prime condition.

Aeryn was walking quietly, but frowned at Sydney's words. "Probably. I'm used to it really. Come on, chances are, my apartment will be fine." she said as she looked over at Damien, narrowing her eyes slightly. "Are you going to be alright?" she asked bluntly.

Damien ignored Aeryn's question and focused on getting to the apartment. He looked incredibly pale, and he was clenching his jaw as the pain in his head increased. He couldn't answer her mentally and if he opened his mouth more than words would be flooding out. Finally, he couldn't bare it any longer. Without a word he dove down an alleyway and, very unlike himself, up chucked what used to be a scone and coffee. Almost instantly, though, he felt the pain in his head subsiding. God, he didn't know how Trevor put up with it. Damien was passive at heart. He knew what he could do but he also knew the consiquences.

Keira shrugged, sighing as she looked back to him. "It's not your fault." she said softly, kissing him gently before heading down the hall. She returned a moment later with an odd looking bottle in her hands, it contained what looked like pills on the inside. She also had on a black jacket, in which she stuck the bottle. Her blade was back in her boot but she held something else in her hand.

She hesitated, but handed it over to Ben. It was a pistol. And a rather sturdy one at that. Similar to the one she had in her waistband. "It's just a precaution..." she assured him before heading back over to the stove. She transferred the steaming dish into a pot with a lid, and much easier to travel with as she spoke again. "I'm taking a guess and saying youve never shot a gun. I'm not saying you'll need it, but I'd rather you had it."[/i]

Aeryn frowned when he didn't answer her, about to demand him to speak when he rushed off down an alley. She could hear him emptying his stomach and she paused. Walking over quietly, she came up behind him, and rubbed her cool hand over his back. "Hey..." she said quietly, actually sounding concerned. A lot of her anger had drained on the walk here. And now she was just tired, and seeing Damien not look too well made her feel worried. "Are you going to be alright? What can I get you once we reach the apartment?" she asked him.

Ben just offered her a smile as he watched her walk off. He waited for her to come back, his eyes taking not of the bottle in her hand. When she walked over, he frowned at what she was handing him. "Kiera... I have no training with a gun at all. I've never even shot one before. Are you sure this is a good idea?" he asked her as he held the gun with unsure hands. It felt... awkward and heavy in his hands. It made him uneasy.

Damien looked back to Aeryn, grateful for her cool hand on his back. He shook his head, waiting to make sure nothing was going to come out before he answered. "I'm okay...just...concealing us from the cops multiple times is taking its toll." his voice was hoarse, but some color was returning to his face. "I can do what Trevor can....but this is the after effect. I've never wanted to inflict pain or anything so I never pushed it. Trevor well....maybe that's how he became so deranged." he shook his head as he righted himself, looking to Aeryn with a weak smile. "Keira is bringing something with her....but soda sounds amazing." he added as his stomach turned once more but he held it down. His annoyance at the girl in front of him dissipated. He was just too tired to carry a grudge. He stripped his polo, revealing a very thin white v-neck. He cleaned himself up with the polo before tossing it to the ground. "I'm ready when you are..." he told her, smile a little stronger.

--------

Keira looked back to Ben, "Unless you're an excellent fist fighter or are comfortable with the intimacy of a blade you're sticking with your new friend." she placed her hands over his. "I know it's intimidating but Id rather you have it if things turn south." she told him, having forgotten not everyone grew up around guns. She smiled reassuringly. "It's a last resort but please keep it on you." she took the gun, showing him how to take the safety off. "After that you squeeze the trigger." she told him, flipping the safety back on before pressing it gently into his hands once more. She knew it was offsetting, but his power was good for fleeing, not for fighting. She wanted to ensure he had a fighting chance.

Aeryn removed her hand as he righted himself, and took a step back. "You shouldn't push yourself like that." she scolded him with a frown. She didn't like the idea of him pushing him too far. It sounded dangerous and that made her worry. She HATED worrying. She didn't want to. Not over him, and yet here she was. Worrying over him. It sort of irked her, but she didn't have the energy to be mad right now. "Then let's get you some soda... and some mouth wash. No offense, but that shits gross." she told him, her mouth flicking into the ghost of her usual smirk.

Ben sighed as he stared at the cool piece of metal, faintly registering what she was teaching him. Knowing it was important, but he still didn't like this much more than before. He took the gun back and placed it into his pocket seeming as it was small enough to fit in there. He'd carry it, if it would make Kiera feel better. But he hoped to God that he would never have to use it. "Ready to head over then?" he asked her.

Damien couldn't help but chuckle as she scolded him, seeing the flicker of her usual smirk under...worry? It's not that the emotion caught him off....it was the fact it was directed to him. He nodded, "Sounds like a plan to me...." As they moved back into the light, one could see his bruises were turning colors as if they were weeks old, the minor cuts already healed and gone. He really did love his little botanist sometimes.

------

Keira kissed him gently on the cheek when he kept the gun. It made her feel a lot better. She nodded to his question, grabbing the pot. "Ready! And I guess we'll be testing out your teleporting prowess." she added, "would it help if I described it? Or if I pictured it in my head?" she asked, trying to think of how to do this best.
