Carol cracked a glimpse of a smile before nodding her head, “Yeah. I think she’s still hiding in her room.” She mused simply, guiding him back up the stairs and down the hall to where she knew his sister was staying. “So what’s for lunch?”

Steven chuckled lightly, “Yes that would be me. Those two girls, along with their mother, truly gave me a run for my money.” He mused with a shrug, poking Violet as she giggled around her food. He looked back to Ren then, but there was obvious judgment behind his eyes when neither corrected his youngest. “What brings you here? I would hope you’re treating her right…”

“Sarrrgeee….” Kendra half groaned, shooting him a weak glare but he ignored her so she just went back to her food and fighting the blush off her face. He’d always been protective of her, like a second father, but she never truly understood why. It only increased after the incident in the barracks. She shot Sparrow a weak glare as well the younger giggled.

Jeremy laughed, poking her back before finishing off his sandwich with a happy sigh. “Deal. I highly doubt Mira will mind.” He mused, but if he was being honest with himself it meant he got to spend more quality time with Cay. Time with her when she felt open to be happy, silly and almost…free. He shook his thoughts away, realizing he’d been looking at her the whole time, and put his gaze back on the water. He chuckled, “Here comes your prince…” He teased, watching as a frog hopped up the bank curiously.

Eliot sighed as Carol explained where is sister was. "I wish she was more people oriented. There's a lot of nice people here and she could use a friend." He admitted to her as they walked. When she asked what was for lunch, he smiled. "Mr. Steven made burgers for everyone and Liz made sweet potato fries. Mr. Steven let me sit and watch and learn while he made them."

Ren chuckled as Steven mentioned his wife and daughters. He can imagine with their personalities that it would definitely make the man's life interesting. He caught the change in the man's aura as well as the look in his eyes and could tell that the man was looking out for Kendra and he could respect that. It was nice to know that somebody else had been looking out for her.

"I got a... vision about this place. One of my friends from my childhood was coming here and needed my help, so I joined up so I could meet him here and be here in case he needed me. Look out for him in a sense." He explained to him honestly. "And I'm treating her to the best of my ability. She definitely let's me know when I should step up my game." He smiled over at Kendra, his eyes sparkling with laughter.

Caelynne made a face before she leaned over and poked Jeremy back once more before grinning. "Yay!" She cheered with a laugh as she smiled over at him once before looking back at the creek. She looked over with a laugh at his words as she caught a glimpse of the frog. "Hey, don't joke. What if he was?!" She demanded as she began to crawl over to try and catch said frog, hand held out.

Carol gave a short nod, knowing a lot of people tended to stick to their own ways, at least at first. “Mmm, I might have to steal a bite or two then.” She mused with a shrug, but her stomach curled in hunger. She realized she actually hadn’t eaten yet that day…oops. They came to a stop outside his sister’s door, “There. Have fun kid. See you downstairs.” She told him, a flash of a quick smile on her lips before heading back downstairs.

Steven nodded slightly as he listened to Ren’s explanation, unable to keep from laughing as he spoke about Kendra. Kendra looked over to Ren, a hint of pink bubbling up on her cheeks, giving a small smile back finally after a few minutes. Something about this was mortifying, but she wasn’t sure why. “Well she’s never been known to keep her opinions to herself…” Steven agreed, pausing to take another bite of his burger. “I’m curious though, boy, who was the friend you were to meet here?”

Jeremy laughed as she tried to catch the frog, “Remember, shortie, you catch it with your bare hands no brownies for you. I didn’t bring anything out to wash frog slime off.” He mused simply, amused at the scene playing out for him. He forced himself to look to the sky, however, when she turned her back to him, letting out a slow breath. Damn he hated being male sometimes… He busied himself by taking out his phone and letting some music play out through a speaker built into the cooler. It wasn’t overly loud, but it was a good background.

"You probably should before they're all gone. They smelled really good." Eliot informed her with a smile as they arrived at his sister's door. Turning, he waved to Carol. "Thank you very much." He thanked her, knowing he'd probably see her downstairs if he could drag his sister out as he knocked on the door.

"She definitely keeps me on my toes." Ren agreed with a chuckle as he nudged Kendra gently under the table. He could tell that she was looking a bit uncomfortable. When Steven asked about Ben, he almost felt sorry for his friend. "His name is Benjamin Gardner. He arrived here with your daughter, the Shea boys, and Keira's friend Aeryn." He explained to him.

"Really?! You're such a baby! I can just wash my hands off in the creek." Caelynne called backwards, eyes still on the frog. She could hear music pick up in the background and smiled. Well that was nice. Leaning over, she swiped out with her hand and caught the frog with a whoop of victory before giggling. Curling both of her hands around it safely, she smiled as she turned around and walked back to Jeremy.

Steven nodded a bit, listening as he ate his lunch, looking to his youngest when she spoke up. “Yeah, he’s nice. He thinks he’s funny but not really. He didn’t believe me when I said Ren was here too! Also, he and Key kiss a lot.” She added, making a slight face and, though Kendra felt bad, she was grateful the topic was no longer her.

“Really now…” Steven said slowly, unable to not chuckle as even Sammy nodded in agreement. “Well I guess I’ll head down after lunch then and meet this boy.” He mused simply, sounding calm but honestly that was the scariest part. How calm he sounded.

Jeremy laughed, “Just don’t tell Liz then if you get sick.” He teased, sitting up as she brought the frog back up the back. “Well hello, Mr. Prince. Did you enjoy your feast of flies? Weren’t able to escape…?” He asked, shaking his head a bit and looking up at her with a lopsided grin.

Ren kept the wince from showing on his face, suddenly feeling really bad for his friend, especially at Steven's words. He knew that type of calm. It the calm right before a storm usually. He suddenly couldn't find anything to talk about as he focused on his food and keeping his mouth full.

Caelynne giggled, deciding to ignore his words about getting sick. She handled animals all the time, she would be fine. "He's looking for his true love's kiss. I think he found him." She said playfully as she danced her hands holding the frog in front of Jeremy playfully.

Kendra felt the tension and decided to speak up, not a fan of lingering silence. "Violet, did you tell your dad about tomorrow night?"

Violet turned pink and shook her head, "No..." She looked to her father with a shy but excited smile. "We're goin up against the boys tomorrow night. Having a big bonfire and everything!"

Kendra laughed, looking to the confusion on a few faces, "The girls have been doing a mini dance class with me three times a week. Kinda like a substitute for gym. Well, a few months ago they decided they wanted to perform for the group and they did amazing. The boys, however, didn't think it fair that the girls got all of the attention so we made a deal with them. If they stuck to it and learned a routine we'd have a small dance off."

Liz laughed, "Obviously they weren't impressed at first with the idea, then Jeremy took it over and they realized there was more to dancing than just pirouettes and tutus. It became an excuse to see who could jump higher, spin faster...I still don't know if teaching a bunch of young boys how to do blackflips was the best idea..." She sighed playfully, grinning as Carol walked in and quickly helped her make a plate.

"There are three rounds. There's one for the younger kids, one for the older kids, and the whole groups go! We're tryin to get Kendra and Jer to do something but they won't."

Kendra laughed as Vi pouted playfully, "What I want you girls to focus on is doing your best and beating those boys." She mused with a playful wink, knowing the kids had a bet going and so did her and Jer. She REALLY hoped she didn't lose.

Jeremy cracked up laughing as she danced the frog in front of him. "Sorry, man...I don't play for that team." He mused with a sarcastically apologetic tone to his voice. "You're just gonna have to hop down the back..."

Ren listened with interest as Violet, Kendra, and Lizbeth told Steven about the dance off happening tomorrow. Sounds like tomorrow night was going to be an interesting night with everything going on. He looked over and watched Kendra, sort of wishing now that she would have a face off with Jeremy just so he could see her dance. That would definitely make his night.

Caelynne giggled madly as she nudged the frog closer to Jeremy. "Oh come on! Are you sure...?" She asked playfully with a happy sparkle in blue eyes as she tried not to giggle again, lips twitching upward into a smile.

Jeremy's grin only grew as she tried to retain her laugh giggles. He bit back his initial comment, thinking it was way, way too forward and might ruin her happy mood. Instead he sighed playfully and looked back to the frog. "I am sorry, my dearest prince, but I am simply not the boy you're looking for." He explained with a playfully abashed look, shoulders shaking from contained laughter.

Caelynne giggled madly again before sighing. "I guess you'll just have to stay a frog for a little while longer. I'm so sorry." She apologized to the frog before crawling back over to the creek and releasing it. Running her hands through the cold creek water, she wiped them off on her jean shorts before rejoining Jeremy up on the blanket. "I caught a frog once that was as big as your head. No lie." She told him with a nod.
