"Well... Okay. So don't take this the wrong way." Aeryn said as she opened her eyes and flipped to her stomach so she could look at her friend. "Despite how much I aggravate the shit out of the kid, I don't HATE him. He's... and if you tell him this, I will kill you. He's decent. Too sweet and naive, but he's not like evil. I just... don't think he's the right guy for you." she shrugged. "He's TOO sweet. And he makes you cry. I mean, as long as I've known you, Key. You have never cried and he's made you cry how many times now? He just doesn't seem the right guy for you. He needs a mommy who can hold his hand through all of this. That's not what you are."

"Better than smelling like mint." Ben pointed out to Daniel as he sat on the opposite bed after packing his dirty clothes. He looked over as Damien spoke up, and felt a little wary but it didn't show. "Sure. What about?" he asked curiously.

"Nope. My uhh... life was pretty different." Ren told her with a grin. "This is the first time I haven't been under the Elders thumbs for the first time in my life. It's really nice." he admitted.

And with her friend's words her stomach bottomed out. She let it settle a bit, taking a breath before looking to Aeryn, her tone was even and casual but something flashed through her eyes. "Who says sweet isn't what I need? Its different than what I usually go for. Its nice....and it's not him persay that's made me break down....its been everything crumbling around me. Around all of us. He's just been there You just don't understand, Snow...no we don't fit together as seemlessly as you and D but....I don't know I just can't describe it..." She finished, arms having crossed loosely over her chest. It was taking everything she had not to scream and slam the door. She was still miffed about Aeryn up and leaving, but she wasn't about to bring that up in front of Sydney.

"I'm pretty sure you know what..." Damien responeded simply, hissing a little as he sat on the other bed across from Ben. He suddenly looked like the older brother threatening his baby sister's first date, even if it wasn't completely intentional. "First of all we don't hate you. Its going to take Daniel some time to adjust, you should realize this. If I really didn't like you you wouldn't be here, its as simple as that." He told him, his voice even and calm, "Aeryn is her own set of nuts....not going there at the moment. I know you had a not so pleasant experience talking to your father earlier and for the first time since we were young, Keira completely blocked me and ignored me even though I was getting a rather bad headache from her rolling emotional....spiral for lack of a better term. Care to shed some light?"

Liz laughed a little, "I can imagine...well, who knows, sunshine, maybe you'll find your lady luck out here." She teased him, resting her head on the back of the worn leather couch. "Either way we'll make sure you know how to cook well enough to impress any gal..."

((*is watching This Means War* I am loving this. lmao))

Aeryn watched her friend, chin propped up on her hands. "I just... I don't know, Key. I worry for you. And he just seems... Key. You could get hurt." she told her as she ran her fingers through her hair. "I just don't think he's the best for you."

Ben made a face as Damien brought up what was on the back of his mind. Yay. He didn't really want to have this conversation. He listened quietly as Damien talked, waiting for him to finish before thinking on what to say. "She was feeling guilty. My phone had turned on by accident, and then she let me use her phone to call home. After the phone call, she just felt more guilty." he ran his hand over his short hair. "I didn't know it would end like that. Trust me, I feel bad too. I don't know HOW to make her not feel guilty. Because if it wasn't for her, I'd probably be on my way to dead now. Or worst."

Ren laughed as he shook his head. "Hate to burst your bubble, but I don't think that's going to happen. And besides, I'm not really looking. I think I'll enjoy my time." he grinned. When she brought up the cooking, he laughed. "Well I can't wait for the cooking then. Speaking off, I need to make green eggs and ham for lunch for Sam. Prove to her, that it does exist." he grinned.

((Omg I missed that one….I have to rent it soon!!))

“That’s part of a relationship, Snow. Opening yourself to someone else. And he seems what? You just said he’s too sweet…” Keira shook her head, hand clenching and releasing behind her forearm. “And what or who do you think is best for me? What kind of guy because frankly now I’m curious…” She added, having amazing control over her short temper.

Damien couldn’t help but laugh at the face Ben made. “You aren’t quite used to living with me yet….but there’s never any use lying or hiding things from me. Whether we like it or not.” He told him simply before listening to what he had to say. “See….you saw guilt. I saw absolute sheer panic. I’m not sure which of us is right…maybe both of us. No matter how many times you say you don’t blame her it’s going to be in the back of her head for quite a while. It’s just something that you’re going to have to know how to work with. You also need to learn how to work around her when she’s in her bitch mode and not snap.” He looked to the younger guy knowingly, “I was the cause and I apologize but understand she’s a short fuse. She’s stubborn as hell and 9 out of 10 times will grin and bear it than admit she’s hurting. I’ve noticed the way she opens up to you and while I think it’s a healthy switch…I’m not sure the massive mood swings are healthy for her….”

Liz laughed a bit, “Have at it, darlin’. You know your way around a kitchen at all or you need a tour?” She asked him with a smile, looking up as she heard feet thump across the ceiling. She trusted the others to watch over the little demon spawn for a bit as she looked back to him with a shrug.

((Lol Dad downloaded it to the external hard drive for me. It's fast becoming one of my fave movies xD ))

"Well yes, he is too sweet." Aeryn said. "But he also seems very liable to hurt you. He just doesn't seem to care about you as much. What if he realizes that this is all just adrenaline or something? What happens when he leaves?" she seemed to voice Keira's concerns that she had thought.
((*smacks Aeryn* v.v ))

"That was partially my fault. I don't normally snap, but I was very tired. I tend to get a little cranky." Ben admitted. "I've seen how stubborn she can be." he chuckled lightly. And I don't want her to freak out. I mean, I'm glad she opens up to me. How much she trusts me to do that. But if there was a way I could help her..." he trailed off, not quite sure how to word it. He wanted what was best for Keira. That's all. Just wanted her to be happy. He'd do whatever he could for her.

"Uhh... I might need a little help. After all, I just learned how to crack my first egg last night." Ren pointed out with a grin, remembering her introduction. "I have a basis of how to do it, I'm just not sure."

Keira bit back her initial reaction but the flash througb her eyes and clench in her jaw showed Aeryn she'd thought along the same lines. She thought over her answer before speaking, feeling absolutely sick. "When he leaves? What the hell has he done to show that he doesn't care about me?!" Any pacients she had had were close to gone, an icy tone to her voice. She had to keep replaying Ben's words from earlier over and over in her head. Reassuring herself Aeryn didn't have a clue.

Damien nodded a bit, "I know all you want is for her to be happy. Im not sitting here telling you to end it by any means but just be aware there is a very fragile and vulnerable young girl under that armor." He told him, "As much as you lean on her, she leans on you. She needs someone stable and all saying is I hope, we all hope you can provide that for her..."

Lizbeth laughed and hopped up, nodding her head towards the door, "Come on then, sunshine. Let's show you the basics of cooking...the place men dread to go..." She teased him.

Aeryn sighed, seeing the signs flash across her friends face and knew she wasn't going to get anywhere anytime soon. "Okay, on the off chance that he does stay and perhaps care for you as much as you do him? Then good. I just want you to be careful Key. I don't want to see you get hurt." she looked at her friend with concerned grey eyes. "Out of all of us here, he's the one who would most likely hurt you. I don't think he realizes how much you've trusted him with. How vulnerable you are around him."

"And I've showed signs of being unstable?" Ben asked, slightly annoyed before sighing and calming down again. He got upset one time, because of a phone call, and now he was being berated. "I know you're trying to look out for her. And I appreciate it. She is, in almost all sense of the word, your sister. But I'm not going to let her down. I promised her I'd be there for her, and I will be. I'll be here for her as long as she wants me. And I'll do everything in my power to help her, and care for her as I can."

Ren laughed as he stood up and followed Lizbeth to the kitchen. "Then it's a good thing I'm so very secure in my masculinity then, huh?" he asked with a wink as he walked into the kitchen as he looked around. "Okay, so I know a few basics. And I know cooking a whole ham for lunch isn't going to be possible for what little time we have." He admitted. "But I'm assuming you guys do have lunch meat right?"

Keira didnt answer her best friend. She couldn't. She knew her voice would crack and shed come out with lame ass shit like 'but he told me he loves me' and 'no he hasn't realized but why the fuck should that matter'. She'd sound rediculous and she didnt want to give Aeryn any more amo. "You said yourself a timeline shouldnt matter I.." Not trusting herself to speak more she cleared her throat and closed the bathroom door behind her. She turned the water of the shower on but didn't get in right away, just sitting on the edge of the tub fully clothed berating her eyes for wanting to cry and her stomach for wanting to upheave breakfast. Instead she sat there shaking a bit, trying to push the doubt Aeryn had stirred up back into the depths of her mind. She couldn't afford that...

Damien listened, never showing any agitation or anger. Just listening. "It's not what you've done as far as snapping or breaking down. We just see or hear her crying waterfalls when this girl usually never sheds a tear except when laughing to hard, only to reemerge later as happy as a lark. She opens up to you. Never take that for granted...you aren't the only one to lose parents this week." he reminded him, "Just know what you're signing up for is all I ask." he finished just as Daniel stepped out of the bathroom in a pair of dark cargo pants, apparently having forgotten his shirt.

Damien took his brothers place as Daniel plopped back on the bad. "How I cannot wait to be able to sleep in a real bed and not a futon..." he sighed happily, seemong oblivious to the mood for the moment.

Liz laughed, "Eww no..,.luncheon meats are horrid for you! Got something much better." she went over to the fridge and pulled out a large Tupperware container. When she opened it hat you saw were stacks of sliced spiral ham. "It's freshly roasted as of two days ago." she assured him and even cold one could smell the honey glaze. "how were you figuring on the green aspect?"

Aeryn just watched her, groaning as Key shut the door as her face slammed into the bed. Sighing, she pulled herself up and headed to the door, despite hearing the shower run. She cast Sydney a quiet apology as she knocked on the door. "I'm coming in so I hope you're still dressed." She said as she opened the door then and walked inside, closing the door quietly behind her. She sat on the edge of the bath with her and looked at her best friend. "I'm sorry I upset you. I'm just scared for you. You're the closest thing I have to a family, Keira. And I'm not very good at the family thing. I'm extremely over protective and the thought that he could hurt you so easily, and the fact that he's oblivious to it drives me insane. I want you to be happy, I do." She said softly. "I just also want you to be careful and think about it. I want you to be 200% sure that you can trust this kid with your heart. I want you to be sure that you aren't becoming attached to him because of adrenaline. Or because he was the only one around. That you made the right choice."

Ben didn't say anything as he watched Damien leave before looking towards the window. He may not know all of what he was getting into, but he knew he wouldn't back down. He did love Keira. And he wanted to be there for her. It sure as hell wasn't going to be easy. Yet when was anything ever worth keeping easy?

Ren laughed as he watched her pull the food out. "Are you guys like obsessive health nuts then?" He asked, thinking Ben would love it here then. His friend was crazy about eating right. He looked over at the ham and grinned. "I was just gonna add some green food dye. Ben was the one who told me about it. His First grade class did it one year apparently." He explained.

Keira didn't look at her friend as she spoked, playing idly with the chain around her neck. She let Aeryn's words sink in slowly before taking a shaky breath. "You don't think I've had doubts about what's going on? Trust me I have." she said quietly running a hand through her hair. "If it was because no one else was there I would be with Daniel and I'm 99% certain we wouldnt be having this discussion. I've made relationships over adrenaline and this isn't like that. I know what I feel, Aeryn. It's rediculous and we both agree it's insane but I believe him when he says he's there for me. That he l-loves me." she paused to clear her throat, "Aeryn my parents are on the run...my sister is developing powers and passing out cold randomly and I haven't been there...You guys, Tyler, Liz and Vi are all I have left...." she trailed off and looked away again, afraid Aeryn would see the glassy look in her eyes as she spoke. "This whole thing with Ben is rocking my whole system and I'm not gonna lie it scares me half to death..."

Daniel glanced over to the younger guy but didn't comment right away as he slipped a simple green v-neck t-shirt over his head. If someone had told him someday he'd be sharing clothes with his skinny ass brother he'd have laughed his ass off. Ben seemed lost in thought, not that they seemed to be pleasent thoughts but...it wasn't Daniel's place to interrupt.

Liz laughed, setting the pork on the counter with a shrug, "Up here? Yes. Down in the barracks? Hell no...." she shook her head before listening. "Well we are actually out of food dye. Two young boys decided to dye Solvermists mane...." she shook her head a bit, "but I know what you can use as a substitute." she pulled out a dark green liquid in a much smaller container. "Dont use too much or they'll taste the spinach. Trust me we sneak veggies into just about everything.."
