"I said I got it! Don't snap at me. This is a lot more precise than you think it is." Zeke snapped at him as he tossed the extra papers his way, Saul still silently going over them.

"We jump. Or climb. Not crawl." Ysabel pointed out, not seeming offended by his comment at all.

"Are y'all even listening to me?!" Seren asked with a huff of agitation. Jumping up and disturbing the cat, she walked over to Saul and Adam as the big men ignored her. Shoving her way through, Nissa looked amused and knew what was coming next.

Grabbing a map, she pointed at a spot. "Right there. We can pass through this big ol' barricade right there."

Keira just sat there with him eyes closing as she waited. She couldn't help but feel everything crumbling around her. They had been so happy not too long ago...and now he barely looked at her. Dumbass phone...ruined everything. "Do you want me to go?" she asked him, her voice so soft itd be a miracle if he could hear her.

Damien sighed, "I...I don't think so. Her mind is a jumbled mess and Im not nearly as close to him as her so she's drowning him out so I can't get both sides. She's close...and freaking out but I think it's all self aimed. I can't figure out the catalyst though..." he admitted, opening his eyes to look at Aeryn.

Adam looked over...and down at the tiny girl who was literally dwarfed by his presence and Saul's. Both of them were tall...and Adam was built like a house. It made her seem more like a sprite than a human being.

".....And how the fuck do you think you know that?"

Despite it all, Ben still heard her. "No..." he said almost as quietly, his loose hand on her waist tightening for a second. Earlier, he would have said yes. Now that she was still with him, and sitting in his lap, he didn't want her to go. She kept him grounded in a way. The only stable rock in his out of control world.

Aeryn just nodded, a frown still on her face. "Yea... well let me know." She told him, obviously not happy that her best friend was upset. She didn't care if it interrupted anything, she didn't like how Ben made her friend feel like this.

Daniel's smile grew a little, emphasizing the scar that ran along his cheek, "Yes I am. And no worries, my name is Daniel. I'm Damien's brother..." he remined her gently, arms crossed loosely over his chest which showed his "tag" from the institution, the numerous scars and track marks. When she tried to sit up, he gently helped lower her back down as he continued. "You're on your way with our fun little peanut gallery to Texas to meet up with people who can help is out..." he told her, figuring "resistance" was a bit rough. "You want anything? Food? Drink? Meds?" he added, obvious concern on his voice. He knew what she was going through...

Sydney nodded slowly. "Daniel... I remember now. Sort of. It's fuzzy.... I don't remember much of anything except..." She trailed off before letting out a sigh. "I really want to get out of this car and walk, but I'm not stupid. I only wonder what the hell they pumped into me." She frowned a little, looking over at him again. "I'm kinda thirsty too. Maybe if I got some food and drink...I'd be a little less....groggy. To put it lightly."

Seren, despite her diminitive nature, stared Adam down with stubborn hazel eyes. "I had scarier stare downs with my daddy's dog. And wa'n't nuttin but a lil ol' hound dog." Obviously not phased by his intimidation act and harsh words. "And I know because I know the trees right there. Ezekiel's brother can create a distraction and we can leave. The trees will help us too. They don't like the barricade either."

"Trees don't talk." Saul muttered as Seren whirled on him and pointed her finger at him. "Don't you back sass me mister." She said and Nissa had to swallow her laughter. She called this 'the Southern Woman's Temper' sent her into fits of laughter everytime.

"She's right. You haven't seen this shiela around those trees. If we can get her into a forest, the forest will do the rest for us." She pointed out with a shrug.

"This isn't making any sense. Emotional trees? How does that help? And I'm not walking all the way out of Cali." Ysabel pointed out.

"I'm sure as fuck not leaving my car." Saul muttered as he glared at Seren who glared up at him.

"That's why you make a distraction! Don't you have stuff in your car that blows up?" She asked as Saul nodded. "Then while they're distracted we can escape." Seren pointed out like it was obvious.

Adam stared at the little girl, before looking back to Saul with a blank look on his face. "So what's your take on this. We gonna dive into a bunch of trees and hope they protect us?" His voice was practically dripping with sarcasm as he stood back up straight. "We are going to need some sort of distraction...but that's where you come in anyways. As for actually getting out of the city....? Even if we do....six of us in your piece of shit car isn't going to work out well. We're going to have to get Ramirez's out with us as well.... so it's a little less....cramped."

Keira nodded slightly against his chest, as he briefly tightened his hand around her. "Okay...." She said softly, moving ever so slightly so she was more comfortable on his lap. She just set there with him, eyes slipping shut once more. She needed to stay calm and steady for him....

Damien nodded but paused, "Wait...hurting her again?" he asked her, his voice betraying his confusion and eyes letting the briefest flash of guilt go through them. He had been so busy answering phones, making arrangements, getting himself together for Aeryn...he'd been blind to his "sister"...

Daniel nodded as she spoke, reaching into the back to pull out a powerade and a plain bagel. He handed them to her as he spoke. "I know the bagel looks heavy but detox takes a lot out of you. More than you realize. Trust me, pick at it and you'll barely register you've eaten the whole thing until there's nothing left. Your body will thank you..." he told her simply as he leaned back against the truck. "If you feel up to walking around let me know and I'll be more than willing to help..."

Sydney smiled. "You're a god," she mumbled as she took the bagel and the powerade. With a little struggle, she managed to uncap the powerade...and downed half of it in one gulp. The liquid soothed her aching throat...and it made her stomach, which was protesting against the entire idea of anything inside of it, calm a little bit. She ate a couple bites of the bagel against her better judgment. She looked back at Daniel, frowning a little as she saw the truck was devoid of life save him. She could imagine the others probably didn't want anything to do with her....even if that wasn't the immediate reason they weren't here right now.

"So you talk like you've been through this before... I mean.." She glanced at his arms. "Obviously. So...does this wear off? This...heavy, lethargic, I'mgonnapukeeverythirty seconds feeling?" She smiled a bit, but it was short-lived.
