"What the hell did I do?!" He asked with a raised eyebrow, glancing back at his brother with a roll of his eyes. "You told her that? Really?" "Hey, I needed to gain some trust and credability...." He laughed, nodding as Aeryn spoke to him, "If those are the stories you desire. I also have ones from earlier as well.....pick your poison dearie..." He mused, just grinning as Damien let out a soft groan. Was it bad he actually wanted Keira to drive to seperate the two of them for a bit? Mira looked up with a nod and, not finding anything of interest, turned the tv off. "Well, to be honest there are a few things we need to discuss but we'll do Violet's case first." She told him simply, turning so she was facing him, her arm on the back of the couch as she spoke. "She's been having....episodes. She'll either just drop like a stone and be in a haze for a good ten minutes after we get her back or curl up in a ball sobbing that her head hurts. I used to get no read off of her but the thing is in the last few weeks I'm starting to get reads off of her. When John and Karen, her parents and original owners of the estate, had to leave everything fell apart. All she has left, family wise, are Tyler and Hillary, who are trying but are rarely around in the main house as you know, but I think whatever her body has been supressing is sort of...feeding off her stress." She gave a small shrug, "The fact that I can get a read on her means her powers are developing but....what powers we don't know. Keira wasn't like this...She had an episode earlier this evening and again about the same time Caelynne had hers...." |

Aeryn gave a ghost of a smile as she looked up from the intricate pattern she was drawing on Damien's palm over to Daniel. "I like either or." she admitted. "Whatever you want to tell. I'm all ears." she said before turning back to Damien's palm and the pattern she was drawing on it to keep her hands busy. For a pattern made out of frost on somebody's hand, it was oddly beautiful and very detailed and clean. Which could tell you that she did this a lot. Not necessarily on Damien, but on herself. Damien nodded as he listened quietly with a small frown. That... didn't sound good. He felt bad for the little girl. Caelynne and him had been born with their gifts, so they never had to worry about these things. "Is there anything we can do for her? To make it easier?" he asked her. He'd never wish powers on anybody. Especially in these times. It was about to get nasty out there for people like them. And Violet was only a little girl. |

A slow but wicked smile came to Daniel's face as she gave him full range, Damien's eyes widened a bit. "You tell her that I tell her about the lake house before junior year...." He said slowly, as if warning his brother who pouted. "Party pooper...." He grumbled at first before shrugging, "Eh, I'll risk it..." "If you weren't driving...." "You love me and you know it D...." "I'm pretty sure I'm going to disown you..." "Now come now....that just ain't right...." Daniel cracked up, shaking his head before speaking again, this time more at Aeryn. "Wanna hear about the time D had to kiss a guy?" "I hate you. I really, really hate you..." Mira shook her head, "Not until Damien gets here, partially why he's coming back. She understands what's going on but she's scared. I think once she has her sister and her "brothers"..." She used air-quotes around the word, "back it'll start winding down. I've always been close with her and the others since my mom was the vet here on the farm when times were much easier, and I remember how she reacted to Keira having to run in the middle of the night. She was really too young to recognize what had happened to Daniel but her sister and Damien leaving? The poor girl was a wreck. She's got a stubborn little spirit, though, and since she found out they're coming back she's been better, trying to smile and stay normal but she's only nine..." She sighed softly, running a hand through her hair, "Ty said he heard the distress in Keira's voice when he got the phone back, which means she knows what's going on. After the hell she went through? She never wish this on her sister or anyone...." |

Aeryn's eyes sparked with interest as she first looked up at Damien then over at Daniel. "Oh really? Please, do tell." she told him with a smirk as she stopped doodling on Damien's hand and paid full attention to Daniel and the story he was about to tell. She vaguely remembered something about something similar the night they were drunk. "Is this also the same night you were supposed to have that threesome?" she asked Damien with a smirk. Damien nodded as he listened, the frown still on his face. "I don't blame her. That's so much to go through at such a young age. And now with the government stepping up even more?" he shook his head, feeling a pang for the poor girl. "At least her sister is coming home. And the others. It won't make it better, but I'm sure it will make it easier on her. From what I've heard, her sister is just a big of a stubborn spit fire as she is. Must be where she gets it from." he mused. |

"No." "Well...." "Daniel, shut up...." There was a reason he'd taken the shot instead of answering the question the night they'd spent drinking. The younger Shea grinned, "Not in the same instance....but the same weekend." He elaborated, "Oh that was fun getting you out of THAT mess...." "You are a horrible human being...." "Eh, I get by....now, the whole threesome mix up happened the night before. Me and one of our friends had to go come get his ass out of the girls' dorms before the RH did inspection that night. I was in my senior year of highschool, he was in his last semester of undergraduate studies at University of Texas in Austin. Oh trust us, we harrassed him the whole way home. Well, one thing led to another and we all ended up at another party the next night. We were all rather drunk and decided to be fifteen and play spin the bottle. Now, all the guys were perfectly fine with girl kiss girl but the plan backfired. In order for that rule to be in effect the girls demanded boy kiss boy...." He started off, breaking off to clear his thorat to keep from laughing. "We weighed the options and figured what the hell? Patron is wonderful for those types of descisions, by the way. Now, for most of the night we lucked out, the guys ducking behind girls at the last moment to loophole the deal, but this lucky bastard wasn't paying attention...." Damien scowled at his brother, shaking out his hand a little as the frost design melted and turned to water. Mira gave a soft laugh, "Yep, both those girls took after their Dad. Trust me, you'll know when Keira gets here...Their mom was the quintessential southern belle housewife, sweet as anything. Their dad was the local Chief of police so he'd commute into town everyday but yes, they definetly took mainly after their father in that aspect....I hope we'll have some answers soon. Her powers are developing rather...oddly. I can't quite put a picture on how but..." she shrugged lightly, half wondering how to bring the subject over to Cay..... |

(( Patron.... *shudders* )) Aeryn listened curiously, Daniel having her full attention as he told the story. She let out a snort of laughter as she shook her head. "Patron, that shit gets you into serious trouble if you aren't careful." she said, knowing from experience. She shook her head with another laugh as she looked up and over at Damien. "I wish I could have been there. I bet it was totally hot." she teased him as she ran her fingers through his hair. Damien chuckled as he shook his head. "That just sounds like a recipe for disaster." he told her as he leaned back into the couch. "Well... at least Violet has you. And her sister soon. And many other people. Most people aren't that lucky." he pointed out to her. "Between all of you, I'm sure she'll be fine." for once trying to be Mr. Positive. |

((Agreed....-makes face-)) Damien just gave her a look, "Oh so you have the right?" he asked, a smirk on his face as she ran her fingers through his hair. "And it lasted for less than a second...." "Well..." "Daniel I swear I will give you a dead leg..." "I'm driving!" "I didn't say right away...." "Girls girls you're both pretty!" Keira told them from the back, the bickering having stirred her. "And it was longer than a second but it wasn't anything special..." Damien looked back at her, "I still can't believe you convinced us to let you go..." he laughed slightly, shaking his head as a smirk appeared on her face. "There was no convincing needed....Daniel wanted to impress little ol' me with a college party." She mused with a laugh as the younger Shea grumbled bit. "So yes, little innocent-" "You were never innocent, Kitten..." Daniel interupted with a smirk as she made a face at him. "Were so!" Mira looked to him with a nod, seeming to finally find a segway. "We all hope so...well, Cay is lucky to have you after everything she's been through. Getting kicked out, losing her parents and I'm guessing her boyfriend all in one shot right after getting some form of repentance from your mother..." she said, her posture was calm but her eyes were fixed on Damien. "Yeah, me and her talked for a bit tonight after I got her to release her grip on Misty and come back inside after the incident with Jeremy. Care to provide some insight?" She wasn't cold or condisending, in fact, she was surprisingly gentle about the whole thing, but this dodging the bullet had gone on long enough. |

Aeryn just nodded at him as she continued to run her fingers through his hair. "I have the right to do whatever I want. It's the way it works, Shea. Deal with it." she pointed out to him with a smirk before laughing at Keira's words. "Aww, poor Damien." she teased him as she nudged him gently. "Did you make a new friend that night?" she waggled her eybrows playfully. When Daniel and Keira argued about the girls innocence, she snorted and turned to her friend. "You were never innocent, Key. Ever. Get over it." she teased her with a smirk before flipping around again. Damien winced at Mira's words as they came before sort of freezing up. It was a couple of seconds after her question before he finally seemed to move. Sighing, he started to feel the craving of another cigarette appear as his fingers drummed along his leg. He didn't WANT to tell the story. Not only because of how painful it was, because of how much guilt it made him feel. "I wasn't always the loving brother. Back before the incident, I was a horrible person. Cay was the golden child. She was an A honoroll student, was on the color guard team, as well as on the Volleyball team. She also had the successful boyfriend who was taking classes to be a lawyer. Torrin. My parents loved him. Anyways, I was never jealous of Caelynne, I was happy for her. I just felt... left out. I wasn't as smart, or popular. So I ended up getting into bad shit. Skipped school, got into fights, drugs, all that mess. So I got my own attention from my parents in a way. Well the summer before we turned 18, Cay ended up getting pregnant. My parents were completely freaked out, and unhappy. She was still a teenager and there went all their hopes and dreams for her. Mom especially wasn't happy. So she forced dad to kick her out. Torrin's parents took her in, however, and she lived with him. I wasn't ever around, so I didn't know much of what was going. I hardly, if ever made it home. "Well in October, as I was out, a couple of guys in suits approached me. Said they would pay me some serious money if I helped them out. Said they were from the government or some shit like that. I accepted once I saw what they were paying me. They said they knew I was special, and that my sister was too. Despite all what I had gone through, a warning bell went off in my head and I played it off like she was normal. "I get the assignment, which was to track down the people on this list. So I take off and go to find these people. When I do find them, I realize what's going on as a bunch of men in gear surround the house and kill everyone inside. Because they were freaks like me. I freaked out. I told them I refused to help them anymore. They said that if I didn't, they'd kill me. So I ran. And since I'm so good at finding things, I know how to hide. "I didn't understand the reprocussions of my actions until I got a phone call three days later. It's Cay. She's crying and says she needs help. That they took her and Torrin and our parents. That's all I get before the phone was taken away from her." Damien ran his fingers through his hair as the memories from two years ago began to take over. "I knew who had taken them, and I realized that I couldn't let them get hurt because of me. But I refused to get anybody else hurt. So I began to hunt and track them down. By the time I got there, however, it was too late. The fascility was completely empty. I found Caelynne sitting in the middle of the room covered in blood as she was rocking back and forth. I was concerned so I grabbed the surveillance footage and watched it. "While I was tracking them down, they apparently gave me a timeline. And they were pressuring Cay to take my place. Which she refused and they didn't take that too well. They killed mom and dad first. Then Torrin. In front of her. Slowly. They made her watch them. It was sick. Then they beat her to death. You have to understand, she was 18 weeks pregant at the time. And after they beat her... well her baby didn't make it. And they were happy about it. I could hear them taunting her. About how freaks didn't deserve to have children. That the baby was nothing but an abomination. A freak just like her. It didn't deserve life. Then there was the raping and..." he blew out a breath, hard for him to continue. "This happened over a period of days. She was stuck with these sickos for days. And one day, she just... snapped. After her main abuser left her in her cell, she stole his knife. And the next time her door open? She lost it. Went beserk and killed everyone. That's how I found her. Just... surrounded by dead bodies covered in blood. She had written on the walls with their blood. The word freak was everywhere. It was like coming on set to a horror movie. But as soon as I walked over to her, she just... collapsed in my arms. She had apparently been shot in the stomach so I rushed her over to the nearest hospital. "She had lost her memory of snapping, but not the rest. She just remembered being... tortured. She woke up screaming. By the time she was well enough to walk, I snuck her out of the hospital and we went on the run. Until we came upon this place by complete accident." Damien finally finished talking, his voice dying down as he stared at the blank TV screen. He would never get over the guilt he felt over this. It nearly swallowed him whole. This never would have happened to Caelynne if he had never taken that stupid deal in the first place. Or have ran off. The way she was now was his fault, and it was the truth. There was no way to cookie cut it or sugar coat it. He had almost ended it, if it hadn't been for Caelynne. She needed him now more than ever, and that was had kept him going. He had already screwed her over once, he couldn't do it again. Edited by never_fade_away, Jun 4 2012, 10:38 PM.

Keira made a face at her best friend before laughing, "I'm a freaking an angel. You just can't see my halo...." she grinned, looking up as Damien rolled his eyes with a snort. "Exactly....its blocked out by your devil horns...." he mused as his brother laughed. "Remember how you got your nickname, kitten?" The younger one smirked and she laughed. "Like you'll ever forget..." she teased him with a laugh before looking back to Aeryn, "Actually they were already friends before the kiss....dont think they spoke much after though..." she laughed as Damien grumbled but shook his head with a laugh. Mira listened closely, her own stomach reeling as he continued. She needed to hear it though. The more she knew, the more she knew to avoid bringing up. Her hand momentarily went to her own stomach before moving it to her hair, pushing her own past back into the crevices where it belonged. She was kind of hypocritical that way. She told her girls to never hide the past but to accept it and push forward. She let out a low, long breath. It was a lot to take in, and she took a moment to digest it. Finally she spoke up, her voice the same gentle it had been before. "I'm going to tell him the same thing I told her....you messed up in the past. It had a horrible, horrific and irrevecable after effect. No one will deny that and no one will tell you different. What matters now. What matters right now is that you're strong and you're here for her. You may always blame yourself...but nothing will change what happened. Your sister needs you more than anything. Having people downstairs will help you be with her more which would help her immensely on its own. I know its anything but easy but...." She took a breath and looked to him then. "I want you talk to Keira when she gets here. By no means is her past the same as Cay's but....she's an example of someone who can overcome horrific things. Caelynne will recover, Damien, but she's going to need all of the help and support she can get....." she told him, giving him a small smile. Edited by RiddleMeThis396, Jun 5 2012, 12:00 AM.

Aeryn just listened with an amused expression on her face, this whole conversation seeming to relax her a little. "So you lost a friend after that, huh?" she teased him before laughing again. "So. How did you get the nickname kitten?" she asked as she looked back at her best friend curiously. Damien just sat there quietly, not saying anything as he stared at the blank TV. He let her talk, but it was like he wasn't taking in her words really. It wasn't anything he hadn't told himself. Except she was nicer about it. Leaning forward, his elbows on his knees, he ran his fingers through his hair. "To be honest, I'm surprised she still wants anything to do with me after I ruined her life." he admitted as he played with the tape on his fingers. That had always surprised him. She knew why it had happened, and yet she still clung to him. It made no sense in his mind. When she mentioned bringing it up to the other girl, he frowned, and looked over at her. "No offense, but I don't really want to tell anyone else. The only reason you know is because Cay talked to you about it. Why should I tell this random stranger that I don't know something personal like that?" it was obvious that he was not fond of this idea. |
