Mira laughed openly as Damien mocked Carol, glad they'd finally found someone who didn't crumble under her gaze. She rested a hand on the back of his chair as she waited for him to finish talking to whoever had his ear at the moment. "Hey...Can I talk to you for a second? Its about Cay...." She said softly, glancing back to Carol who waved them off, and with that same wave rerouted all calls coming in on his half of the boards to her side. She chuckled softly but looked back to Damien, nodding her head to the door. She knew she was the only one aside from Damien to get her to speak and she had a few questions.

"Take him and have fun...Not you!" She snapped into the mic, rolling her eyes, "For shit's sake not everything is about you and your damn issues. Hold on....What!?" Carol's tone changed suddenly. No it didn't become sugary sweet, but it had lost some of its ice. Mira knew it had to be Liz on the other end. "Its been a long day and I have shit for brain-no I am allowed to call him that because he is. You're just too sweet to realize this...anyway what's up? What's taking you so long?"

Damien looked up as Mira walked over, and nodded. He already had his headset off, and was standing up. The pit of his stomach dropped, scared that she had something bad to say. That something had happened or something like that. Following her into the other room, he closed the door quietly behind him, ignoring Carol's jibes. "What's up?" he asked, flicking his hair out of his eyes again, a wary look in his blue eyes, as if he was preparing for bad news.

"Will you stop lookin' at me like I'm the Grim Reaper?" Mira laughed, pulling off the flannel button down and tossing it on a chair before leaning against the wall. "Deep breath, I'm not here to tell you anything horrible. I'm just curious about a few things. First off, and most importantly for me at least, has Cay ever ridden a horse before?" She asked him with a slight tilt of her head. She knew it was hard for Damien to let go and let someone else try and help his sister, and she wanted to involve him still in certain aspects. "She's taken a real shining to Misty...and I haven't seen Misty react that to anyone with real affection except me since Keira left. She seems interested enough, even had her talking before but a new guy interrupted." She tossed her hand, "Anyway...if she decides she wants to, you're okay with this?"

Damien paused at her words, taking a deep breath as he ran his fingers through his hair. As he pulled it off of his face, you could see a simple silver hoop through his left eyebrow. Each of his fingers had pieces of black electrical tape wrapped around the knuckles. Which was weird, but he never said why when asked. "Sorry." he apologized. As she went on, he blinked. She had actually said something? It was... rare. When Caelynne had said something to somebody other than him, which it was actually to Mira here, the first time, he practically freaked. After that, he was more lenient into letting the woman help. He was only nineteen, he could barely take care of himself, let alone his twin sister. "Umm... once. And it was a pony at our sixth birthday party. I don't think that counts." he admitted with a half-chuckle. "Umm... but sure. Maybe it will be good for her." he said. "The girl the horse belongs to won't mind will she? I heard her and her friends are coming back soon." heard was not a strong enough word. It was every where. The infamous Keira and Damien were coming back. Whoever the hell they were. He didn't particularly care.

Mira chuckled with a shake of her head, "Nah, Keira will be happy someone's bonded with her since she left. I think it would be good for Cay, do something new, you know? Horses and other animals are used with a lot of kids similar to your sister. They simply find it easier to bond with them than people." She told him simply, "You could be there, of course, but that's up to you." She added with a shrug. Mira was turning twenty-four in just over a week, but she'd seen too much in her life not to be wiser than her years let on.

"The group that's coming is actually the other thing I wanted to talk to you about. One person in particular, Damien. Well....the other Damien...damn that is going to be confusing..." She chuckled a little but gave a small shrug, "I know he'll be around with me a lot, especially concerning the kids. He's a phychic but don't jump to conclusions. He'll be our resident doctor here on base. He's really sweet and kind but he may be able to make more progress with Cay than me. Obviously, it would be up to you two and it wouldn't be right away. I just wanted to let you know..."

Damien nodded as he thought about it. He wanted to be there and keep and eye on her. To see what kind of progress she was making. Yet he knew he shouldn't. She would make more progress without him there to fall back on. Tapping his fingers on his arm, he thought about it. "We'll see what happens." he said finally.

When she brought up the other Damien, she was right, that was going to be confusing, he frowned darkly. He wasn't too thrilled with mind people, but what could he do about it? "Doctor? Like head doctor?" he asked with a snort, finding that slightly ironic. "And I know what's wrong with her. She doesn't need a diagnosis or some stupid shit like that. She just needs time. She'll get better." he sighed, but there was a determined look in his eyes. He really did believe that his sister would get better.

Mira sighed lightly, figuring he'd react that way. "No he isn't a head doctor. He isn't a quack. He's a medical doctor as in someone who can stitch up your sorry ass the day you decide to piss off Carol and she send a wire to attack you." She told him, resting a hand on her hip. "What I meant was he has a certain way with people. Even Carol can't be a complete bitch to him and you know as well as I do that's saying something. Just give him a chance when he gets here. He has some bad shit in his background too. Trust me we grew up together, I know. If anyone can help your sister more than me, its him." She told him, her voice was gentle but stern at the same time. She knew what she was talking about, it wasn't the first severly introverted kid to come across the threshold. "Your sister may need time, love, but she needs more than that too and you need to realise that. This isn't just going to go away with time." She added, "Please just promise me you'll meet him with an open mind....alright?"

Damien snorted with a roll of his eyes, but there was a quick flash of a smile at her words. Carol was a total bitch, but he didn't really care. If she wanted to look like she ate something sour all day, then he wasn't going to stop her. When Mira kept going on insistedly, he just looked at her. He didn't break contact until her question. Closing his eyes, he pinched the bridge of his nose. Looking back up at her, he nodded. "We'll see. I'm not making any promises though." he said. He didn't want to admit it, but Mira might be right. She might need extra help. In October, it will be two years since the incident, and she had hardly made any progress at all. Most of it, he grudgingly admitted, was thanks to Mira's help. After this, he was going to sneak a cigarette break in before going back to help Carol. He figured he deserved it.

Mira smiled, "And that is all that I ask for..." she told him with a shrug before heading towards the door. "Why dont you come out with me? My the twitching of your hands I'm thinking you need a fix..." she added with a small laugh before heading out the door. She knew it was hard letting other people in to help but every once and a while you had to loosen your control on the situation. Who knew? Maybe Cay would open up more if she didn't have to actually speak....

She headed back up stairs and out, smiling as she saw Rocky and Shadow running around. The way the girl interacted with them showed more than any test she way just a shy sweet girl who was broken by someone without a heart. Mira still didn't know what happened exactly and Damien refused to tell her. She smiled as she started walking towards the girl, bending down to scratch Shadow behind the ears. "Did they go yet? Or are they just messing around?" she asked the girl with a gentle smile.

Damien nodded as he sighed. "Thanks." he said as he followed her upstairs to the house. When they reached upstairs, he went ahead and went outside already, pulling a packet from his back pocket as he closed the door behind him. Caelynne hated seeing him smoke but it was a lot better in his opinion than what he used to do.

Caelynne was too busy playing with the dogs to see him, however. When Mira spoke up, she smiled at the girl as she shook her head. "Not yet." she said in her quiet voice as she scratched under Rocky's chin with a smile as she watched Rocky's tail go crazy. Standing up, she whistled again quietly as she headed towards the door, and opened it up for them to head outside.
