"It all depends on how their power works. A colleague of mine has assisted on cases where the particular person would inadvertently mess with an MRI machine or something of the same. On the note of others its case by case. Trust me, Ive heard my share of horror stories as to the lengths they'll go....rumor has it they have some working for them whose power is to detect others. But," he shrugged as he finished off his whiskey, "Who knows...?"

Ysabel nodded, about to dismiss it if it wasn't for his last line. That... ha d a ring of truth to it. She didn't know why, but it stuck with her. And worried her. She was sure there were mutants who could detect other ones. And if the government had them working for them... well that didn't spell anything too pretty...

This thought caused her to drain her bottle and wish that it was real alcohol for a second. Looking over at David, she sighed. "This is so crazy if you think about it. I mean, even a decade ago. Hell, back in 2000, I would never dream of having a conversation about mutants. Unless it involved X-Men." She joked lightly. Then a thought occured to her. "You..." she looked around before looking back to David. "I know this is crazy but I just thought of it. You don't think my new partner is one... do you?" She asked. She already knew the answer, but she wanted to see if anybody else did. "I mean... since he was dating one and all. I hope not." She murmured. She genuinely seemed worried over it. You had to give it to her. Like David, she was one hell of an actress.

Trevor seemed to think over his question, "Well there have been rumors since he showed up at the crime scene. Some people are stupid enough to think all mutations are physical deformities." He stopped shaking his head, "Sorry...I just...I used to treat a lot of so called "mental cases". It was rather sad to watch them beg to be diagnosed as scistofrenic ((cannot spell!!)) Or worse rather than be pegged as a freak." He tapped the side of his glass as he looked to her, taking a breath. "But back to your question just be on guard. I'm not saying he is or that hes dangerous but that might be the key to him being an insufferable asshole to everyone." He gave a small shrug. He wanted to laugh at what was coming out of his mouth but nothing showed but concern. Okay so the pleading came from his pathetic cousin's sessions, and the rest was pretty much true just in different context.

Ysabel listened rather carefully to what David had to say, making a couple of noises here and there. He gave her a rather vague answer. However, she was going to assume that he knew the answer. He had to be hiding something. She would have bought everything he said if she had been a green recruit, but years on the force taught her to be more suspicious. "I'll definitely keep an eye out then." She told him as she moved back, leaning back in her seat. "So... you're a psych doc then?" She asked with a smile, changing the direction of the conversation slightly.

Trevor gave a light chuckle, "Well...I used to be. I suppose I still am...." he shook his head with a light sigh as he leaned back as well. "I was originally brought on a case dealing with the mutant by the name of Daniel Shea. He was one of the few who make a bad name for all of the others." He shook his head, "We finally got him institutionalized but obviously the high security facility wasnt strong enough. Anyway, they saw how well I worked with him and brought me on as a full time consultant. One thing led to another and next thing I know I'm being trained on shooting and feild work...." he chuckled a little with a light shrug. "Can't say I miss being stuck in an office all day but sure as hell didn't expect this to be my other option..."

He leaned forward on the arma of his chair, "I am curious, though, why did you pick LAPD? No offense but I see your intelligence and skill going to waste as a grunt..." he told her honestly, the small smile-smirk gracing his features once more.

"Aah, that's right. He was the other one I saw on the news, yes?" She asked with a shake of her head. It was after his report on the news that Adam had that freak out at the gas station about freaks. Jesus, she thought those people were going to attack him then and there. She chuckled at his explination. "Can't say I blame you there. Actually. Guess that explained my answer as well." She shrugged as she smiled at him.

"Knowing what I do know of Feds, you've probably already read my file." She teased him lightly. "So you know I come from a tiny town. Little county department. It was boring. I wanted more. Staying a grunt, I get to stay on the field. With less paperwork." She grinned. "I admit that paperwork is the bane of my existence. I hate it." She chuckled. "And as a grunt, I have less yellow tape. Especially here in liberal capitol. There's so much yellow tape it's not even funny."

Trevor chuckled lightly, looking up as the waiter brought over the food but before he could thank him he scurried off again. He sighed; he'd have to talk to him later about this....He looked back to Ysabel with a smile, "Paperwork is a bitch, that I won't deny darlin'.." He agreed with a shrug as he cut up his food, "Once you know the system, dear, you'll see all of the loopholes through the yellow tape. I probably have been at this, feild work any way, for a shorter period of time but trust me that almost every regulation has its loophole." He smiled as he began to eat.

((omg I just found an old e-mail draft I'd saved with links to various dresses for GBS including Kai's two wedding dresses...))

((:O awwwwwww!!!! We never got to the wedding :( I remember we decided that they were having a baby girl though! ))

Ysabel was going to thank the waiter for bringing the food but he pretty much ran off before she could. When he brought up loopholes, she smiled slightly. "I've been decent at finding them, but they're easier to find in smaller departments." She admitted as she twirled up some pasta and a piece of her chicken.

Trevor chuckled with a nod as he ate some of his food. "Well, if you ever need some help just let me know. I know I may be young but I've got some pulls." he told her with a smile. Okay, so most of his "pulls" were law enforcement desperate to keep their powers, no matter how minor, a secret. Still, they came in handy every once in a while.

Ysabel smiled at Trevor, not feeling... too terribly bad at all. She made it a rule not to interact with feds, but he seemed decent. "Thanks David. It's nice to find a friendly face around here." She told him as she ate more food. It didn't mean that she trusted him, but maybe he would be good help at first. With learning all the ropes and everything.
