Daniel laughed, "Well the boy doesn't just play country...," he mused, looking over to Damien as he reemerged from the kitchen. "Let's hear the options, D..."

The older Shea wanted to murder his brother but kept it off his face. Instead he sighed with a small smirk on his lips, leaning on the back of the chair. "If I must...pick a song and I'll tell you if I know it or not. Keep it around Michael Buble or secondhand serenade area if you know no country. If you can't think of anything, I'll let Doofus pick but he'll have no problem making me sound like a complete hick..." he told them, shaking his head as Daniel grinned.

"I would not...."

Ben knew he would be useless since he really only listened to rap. That didn't transfer very well to acoustic guitars...

Aeryn looked around at everyone, staying silent. When it seemed like nobody would say anything, she found herself speaking up. "Do you know Thunder by Boys Like Girls?" She asked before wanting to shut up. She didn't know why she spoke up, but there it was. She didn't really listen to a lot of music... but that band was one of the few that she did listen to.

Damien thought about it for a moment, "Yeah. I haven't played it in a while but I'll give it a whirl." he told her, nodding to the couches before heading over and plopping down. Keira listened to the band for a while before her mix switched to country and bands like Evanesence. It was a cute song, he'd admit, bur it wasnt one of his favorites. Daniel, only slightly dissapointed, got up and sat on the love seat as Damien checked the guitar.

"What you don't trust me?" Daniel teased, settling back into the couch.

Damien gave him a look, which Daniel recognized as "stalling" before sitting back. "you're out of practice doof. Wanted to make sure you're hearing was still good."

Aeryn nodded, still feeling really stupid. She needed to keep her mouth shut next time. Walking over from the table, she made herself comfy on the couch. Drawing her legs up, she wrapped her arms around them as she rested her chin on her knees.

Ben was quite comfortable where he was as he watched them all. He looked at Aeryn then Damien and rolled his eyes, wanting to shoot himself. They were apparently the only ones who didn't see it. He was tempted to smack their heads together, but he was sure it wouldn't actually help.

Daniel gave Ben a look as if to say, "i know...." Damien took a deep breath and, turning slightly red, he started playing. Daniel, as only a brother would, had seriously understated Damien's ability. He was a low range baritone but he had a voice that could melt hearts with the right songs.

"Today is a winding road that's taking me to places that I didn't want to go
Whoa
Today in the blink of an eye I'm holding on to something and I do not know why
I tried

I tried to read between the lines
I tried to look in your eyes
I want a simple explanation
For what I'm feeling inside
I gotta find a way out
Maybe there's a way out..." He took a chance and looked over to Aeryn then, figuring he'd probably get smacked but he didn't feel like singing to a wall...nor his brother.

"Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer
Do you know you're unlike any other?
You'll always be my thunder, and I said
Your eyes are the brightest of all the colors
I don't wanna ever love another
You'll always be my thunder
So bring on the rain
And bring on the thunder

Today is a winding road
Tell me where to start and tell me something I don't know
Whoa
Today I'm on my own
I can't move a muscle and I can't pick up the phone
I don't know

And now I'm itching for the tall grass
And longing for the breeze
I need to step outside
Just to see if I can breathe
I gotta find a way out
Maybe theres a way out

Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer
Do you know you're unlike any other?
You'll always be my thunder, and I said
Your eyes are the brightest of all the colors
I don't wanna ever love another
You'll always be my thunder
So bring on the rain

Yeah I'm walking on a tightrope
I'm wrapped up in vines
I think we'll make it out
But you just gotta give me time
Strike me down with lightning
Let me feel you in my veins
I wanna let you know how much I feel your pain

Today is a winding road that's taking me to places that I didn't want to go
Whoa

Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer
Do you know you're unlike any other?
You'll always be my thunder, and I said
Your eyes are the brightest of all the colors
I don't wanna ever love another
You'll always be my thunder

And I said
Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer
Do you know you're unlike any other?
You'll always be my thunder
So bring on the rain
Oh baby bring on the pain
And listen to the thunder..." he finished, keeping the relief off his face. He'd forgotten how damn long the song was...He looked over to Aeryn then as Daniel grinned. "So?" he asked with a small grin.

Keira made a mental request as she sat playing babysitter to two cop asshats. Something about hearing Damien sing for the first time in ages made her heart ache a little for home. She shook her head out of it, knowing the song she'd asked for was one that when he sang it could melt even the coldest hearts.

Aeryn waited almost impatiently for Damien to start, wanting to hear him sing more than she wanted to admit. She was practically holding her breath by the time he started. When he began to sing, her eyes widened only the tiniest bit as she watched him, not expecting the voice that she heard. When Daniel said decent, she thought decent, not.... not really good. The whole song she just sat there and watched Damien sing, like under some kind of spell or something, not taking her eyes from him as she listened. She didn't want to admit it, but she loved his voice. It was incredible. Well to her at least.

When he strummed the last line, and his voice died down, she blinked and the spell seemed to be broken. Blushing only the faintest bit, she looked away. She looked at anything but him. "Not half bad." She muttered, obviously not wanting to admit how good she thought it sounded.

Ben shook his head with a grin as he looked at Damien. "What Ice Queen meant to say is that was pretty damned good. You managed to get her to shut the fuck up, so it has to be pretty good, dude." He said as Aeryn sent him a look so evil it could make children cry in their sleep.

Damien looked over to Ben with a small grin as Daniel outright laughed at the pair's interaction. He looked between Aeryn and Damien, wanting to also slam their heads together. Keira told him they were in denial but God damn...

Damien chuckled, "Well thank you...." he mused, seeming to think for a moment before looking over at his brother. He knew he'd sing the song Keira had requested later on but he didn't want to keep with the sappy crap too long. Something about singing to Aeryn gave him knots in his stomach. Instead he gave his brother a knowing grin as he started playing again. This one was slow, but it wasnt sappy at all, and unfortunately showcased his southern twang expertly.

"I can make anybody pretty.
I can make you believe any lie.
I can make you pick a fight
with somebody twice
your size. . .

Well I've been known to cause a few breakups
and I've been known to cause a few births
I can make you new friends
Or get you fired from work...." He grinned a bit as his brother laughed, both knowing the other two didn't know what was going on. Damien seemed to be much more relaxed now, honestly seeming like he was having some fun.

"And since the day I left Milwaukee
Lyncheburg Bourbon, France
Been makin the bars
lots of big money
and helpin white people dance.
I got you in trouble in high school
and college now that was a ball
you had some of the best times
you'll never remember with me...
Alcohol! Alcohol...

I got blamed at your wedding reception
for your best man's emberrasing speech,
and also for those naked pictures of you at the beach.
I've influenced kings and world leaders.
I helped Hemingway write like he did,
and I`ll bet you a drink or two that I can make you
put that lampshade on your head . .

And since the day I left Milwaukee
Lyncheburg Bourbon, France
Been makin a fool out of folks
just like you
and helpin white people dance
I am medicine and I am poison
I can help you up or make you fall
you had some of the best times
you'll never remember with me
Alcohol!!

And since the day I left Milwaukee
Lyncheburg Bourbon, France
Been makin the bars
With lots of big money
and helpin white people dance
I got you in trouble in high school
and college now that was a ball
you had some of the best times
you'll never remember with me
Alcohol! Alcohol..." by the end Daniel was laughing again.

"What happened to sounding like a hick?" he teased, regaining some of his composure.

Damien grinned, "I meant songs like "Mr Policeman" or "Red solo cup"... And don't even deny you were going to try to ruse me into one of those..." he cleared his throat and once again the twang was gone.

Aeryn just ignored Ben, else she'd probably ice him. When Damien started up his next song, she never heard it before. Listening to the lyrics, she felt her eyebrow raise as she looked over at him. Not only did he have a country accent, but it was adorable. The lyrics made her want to laugh, but she settled for shaking her head slightly instead as a small smirk appeared on her face.

"Nice accent, Shea." She teased him at the end. Looking over at Daniel as he finally stopped laughing. "You sound like a donkey braying when you laugh." She told him.

Ben just snickered as he shook his head, staying out of it this time.

Daniel simply smirked at Aeryn's jab, "Damn straight and I'm a cute Donkey too!" he told her, proving he and his brother had a similar sense of humor.

Damien wrinkled his nose a bit when she mentioned the twang. When he spoke it was gone. "Yeah....not so much..."

"Why are you trying to hide your roots? Hmm??"

Damien rolled his eyes, "I'm not hiding them....I just got used to hiding it in the beginning and I gotta say I don't miss the twang overly much. You and Keira couldn't hide it if you tried...." he teased, only getting a nod in response.

"You always were an oddball..."

Aeryn rolled her eyes, but there was a smirk on her face. "An ass is an ass. There is nothing cute about it at all." She told him.

"I don't know, Shea. It was kind of cute." She teased him mericlessly. "Uhh... what's that saying after all? Damn May used to say it all the time." She mused, looking up at the ceiling as she thought. "Ah, Ladies love country boys right?" She snickered. She seemed to be back to normal at least.
