Draco Malfoy was the absolute last person he wanted to see. He'd been a problem causer since 1st year - and now, he was bothering his date. Nevermind the fact that the two of them were practically siblings - at least in the fact that they'd grown up together - that Brianna cared about him didnt mean that Ron was going to get along with him any better for it. He could try - but what the wizard had done, to him, to Harry, to Hermione, to Kaila, throughout the years - it was too much for his opinion to change.

"Let go of her, Malfoy." He was surprised that his voice didn't waver. The annoyance and anger overpowered it. He didn't have the right to touch her. "I'm not going to buzz off." He put his hand on the small of her back. "You can't drag her anywhere she doesn't want to go." They weren't five anymore.

--

A blush coloured her cheeks, and she was about to return the compliment when she heard what he was thinking. She sighed. People had that misconception about her sister - that she was bad. If Kaila had been put into Slytherin, perhaps people would think the same about her. But she hadn't been - the sisters had been seperated on day one, and the trio had dragged her in. Meanwhile, Brianna had hung with the Slytherins - or, more and more often, on her own.

"She's not a bad person, you know. My sister."

Draco narrowed his gaze, "Finally grown a pair, eh Weasle?" he sneered, before looking back to Brianna who'd since harshly yanked her arm away from him. "B, come on now be reasonable and think of your safety here."

"Both of you just shut up." she said in an even, low tone as she saw Ron's mouth open to rebuttal. "I may chose choose who I wish to be with, Draco and that is that. I'm not five....."

"Brianna for once don't be so damn stubborn." He hissed, his eyes reading more as My neck is already on the line for you as it is...

She gently set her hands on his shoulders, a sisterly gesture but her words were final. "Its a dance Draco....go have fun and forget about me for a night, yes?" her own eyes reading Please? We'll talk later...promise.

Draco seemed to finally relent, but he shot Ron one last look of hatred before going off. What could he say? That girl was more than just his sister and he was going to protect her damn it.

Brian looked back to Ron sheepishly, placing a hand atop his, "Sorry about him...."

--

Harry sighed, having momentarily forgotten his date could literally get inside his mind. "She hasn't exactly done anything to try to prove me otherwise...." he told her with a small shrug, and it was true. Out of everyone in Gryffindor, Brianna only spoke to the Weasleys, even Ginny liked her for some odd reason, and Kaila. she treated everyone else not in a Slytherin robe like garbage....

He moved his other hand to her back. "Bloody git," He muttered, loud enough for Brianna to hear. Brother and sister or not, Draco didn't need to be bothering her on the night of a dance - no matter what he thought about him.He was gone, though - for now - and Brianna was still here, and he intended to have a good time.

Despiet what others might be thinking.

"It's alright, he's gone."

Though he did, of course, wonder what Draco had meant - about being safe with him. The way he saw it, the only way she wouldn't be safe was if she was with him.

--

"It's the way she is." Kaila shrugged, coming to her sisters defense. "It's the way everyone treats Slytherins. If you'd known her before..." Before what, exactly? Before she'd shrunk into herself and started trusting nobody? Before she'd started growing apart from her?

She'd love to tell him that they could just forget about the situation and let themselves have fun, but Kaila wasnt like that. When she was worried about something, she was worried. And she knew that Harry didn't like her sister, and that she couldn't do much about that - but she could try her hardest to show him the truth.

Brianna looked up at him with a small, "Exactly....though...I think I'm not exactly cut out for all this formality...." she laughed, looking around at the couples in perfect sync with one another as they danced and twirled their way around the floor. "I mean I could....up to you. How do you wanna spend your night? Here being judged because you're with me, or, go somewhere else where no one is judged and I'll be in a much shorter dress...." she looped her arms around his neck with a grin.

--

"Before?" he asked with a laugh, "Kaila, I still wonder how the two of you are remotely related...the sorting hat never even touched her head...in fact he refused to in front of the whole school." He shook his head and stopped her, placing his hands on her hips. "I don't want to discuss your sister the whole night....." he told her gently with a small smile

"I don't care what other people think of us," He whispered, close to her ear. "But I like the second option better." Despite any second guessing about where in the world she'd be taking him, and where she might be hiding that second dress. He thought the first might be illegal, and the second might just be awkward.

--

She sighed. She didn't really have an answer for him, after all. She didn't have an answer for herself. "Neither do I." Kaila held out a hand, shooting one last glance to her sister. "Dance?"

Brian giggled, kissing him right under his ear lightly before leading him through the throngs of people. She led him down a deserted corridor to an old fashioned door, but prior to knocking she her fingers, transforming her black ballgown into a short little black dress and loosening her curls. Her once formal look now much more alluring and sexy appearance. "You like?" she asked him with a small grin, placing a hand on her hip as the other knocked on the door.

--

Harry nodded with a small grin, trying not to let the fact the pair had just left bother him. He took her and in his, kissing the back of it gently before leading her out to the floor. He twirled her around before placing a hand on her hip and led her around the floor with the others.

He gave a small laugh, eyes widening. "Yeah." He said, unable to keep his eyes off of her. "I definitely picked the right choice." Now he was only left to wonder where in bloody hell she was taking him - for all he knew with her, she could have a dozen hiding spots in this castle. But, considering she'd changed her wardrobe ... he had the feeling they were going somewhere else. With people. He tried not to be disappointed.

--

The things that her sister didn't care for, she loved. Twirling on the floor with Harry - she'd anticipated it. Not that she'd ever been one for dressup as someone such as Lavender was, but she definitely appreciated it more than her sister.

When nothing happened she smiled a little more and opened the door, leading straight to a staircase lit by bright torches the whole way up. As she led him up the stairs she crossed wavelengths with her sister. I'm a romantic, love...just not up for the formalities. she thought to herself, looking over her shoulder to Ron with a smile before pushing open the door at the top. They suddenly found themselves atop the school building.

She led him a little further down, her heels clicking against the roofing. Soon enough a blanket was found as well as an enchanted harp playing softly, two glasses and a bottle of some kind of liqour.

"Better than the ballroom?" she asked him with a small smile, handing him an empty glass.

--

(I promise you a post later tonight...Harry isn't cooperating...)

"Definitely better than the ballroom." He replied, eyes widening at the little scene before them. He had to wonder if she'd come up here to set this up before they'd even gone down to the ballroom. He let her sit first, another thought idly crossing his mind.

"Isn't your sister going to hear us?"

Now, that was just awkward.

(sorry it's short.)

Brianna laughed as she poured his glass, "See, sweetie....here's the thing. She may hear me...but I know how to misdirect her thoughts." She said with a shrug, pouring a glass of her own. "Therefore, she may think I'm wasted off my ass at the moment considering all she hears is the ABCs and a random rant about chipmunks.." she leaned in closer to him, "So, don't worry. Its just you and me tonight...promise." B kissed his lips softly before pulling back and clinking her glass against his. Nothing was going to ruin this....

(you can either write Ron's reply or we'll start the next scene.)
